NexGen Announces Regulatory Approval of 2025 Site Program at Rook I Property

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - June 12, 2025) - NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX: NXE) (NYSE: NXE) (ASX: NXG) ('NexGen' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce that the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment has granted approval for NexGen's 2025 Site Program (the 'Program') at its 100%-owned Rook I Property in the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The Program includes the establishment of a temporary exploration airstrip, expansion of the exploration accommodation camp facilities by 373 beds and site access road improvements.
The Program will commence in the coming weeks and conclude with camp commissioning in Q1 2026. This program builds on NexGen's disciplined, strategic approach to implementing infrastructure enhancements required to support the Company's exploration programs at PCE and that forecast across NexGen's dominant land package in northwestern Saskatchewan into the future.
The drill results of high-grade basement hosted mineralization discovered at PCE 3.5km east from the Arrow deposit indicate another significant scale zone 'Arrow style' of mineralization is materializing and warrant these infrastructure enhancements incorporating best practice safety and environmental principles.
Incorporating NexGen's longstanding approach to economic capacity building, the Program will prioritize Local Priority Area participation, generating new employment and contracting opportunities for Indigenous and community members, reflecting NexGen's industry leading and genuine approach to local communities.
Leigh Curyer, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, commented: 'The 2025 Site Program marks an exciting strategic milestone for our current and future activities, with key infrastructure improvements that will optimize safety, environmental protection, and efficiency for our people and our programs. These infrastructure enhancements create the conditions for a high-performing operational platform capable of fully evaluating the significant resource potential across our Rook I Property. This Program is a direct reflection of NexGen's proactive approach to responsible resource development, elite planning and demonstrates our continued commitment to building lasting value while creating meaningful opportunities for local Indigenous and community members.'
The Honourable Premier of Saskatchewan Scott Moe, commented: " I congratulate and thank NexGen for their major investment in Saskatchewan to date. The Rook I Project is one of the most significant projects across the country and we are keen to see it prioritized by the Government of Canada accordingly. Our government is proud to approve these infrastructure activities which are well within our jurisdiction and that are scheduled to commence imminently. NexGen is an example of strategically delivering a generational opportunity for Saskatchewan to become the world's leader in the mining of uranium, and I look forward to working with newly elected Prime Minister Mark Carney to expedite the final Federal approval of this generational opportunity for Saskatchewan and Canada.'

Saudi Arabia's Giant Hydrogen Project Reaches 80% Completion

Saudi Arabia's flagship NEOM Green Hydrogen Project has crossed a major milestone, with 80% of its construction work now complete across multiple sites, according to project partner Air Products (NYSE:APD). The sprawling project includes a large-scale green hydrogen production facility, solar and wind power farms, and an integrated transmission grid. The entire complex is expected to begin operations within two years, positioning it as the largest renewable-powered ammonia production facility globally. Air Products confirmed that the 4 GW of combined solar and wind generation capacity remains on track for completion by mid-2026, with the first shipments of ammonia-based green hydrogen projected to start in 2027. Situated in NEOM, the futuristic megacity under development in Saudi Arabia, the green hydrogen venture is jointly owned by ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM itself. Once fully operational, the facility aims to produce up to 600 metric tonnes of green hydrogen daily, converted into ammonia for easier transport and export—a key solution for industrial and transportation decarbonization worldwide. According to the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), the project is aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and its Saudi Green Initiative. NGHC estimates that its production could offset approximately 5 million metric tonnes of CO? annually, roughly equivalent to removing 210,000 vehicles from the road. Hydrogen Headwinds, Saudi Tailwinds Saudi Arabia's steady progress comes as many green hydrogen projects elsewhere face significant headwinds. Globally, offtake agreements, a critical component for project financing, remain scarce. BloombergNEF estimates that only about 12% of green hydrogen plants worldwide have secured firm customer purchase commitments. High upfront costs and the need for expensive industrial retrofits deter many potential buyers. Compounding this, green hydrogen remains up to four times more expensive than hydrogen produced from natural gas (gray hydrogen).Nevertheless, NGHC has made notable progress on this front. In March 2025, Saudi utility ACWA Power signed a memorandum of understanding with Germany's SEFE (formerly Gazprom Germania) to supply up to 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030. While not yet a binding sales contract, the agreement signals strong interest from European buyers and contributes to ongoing efforts to establish a "hydrogen bridge" between Saudi Arabia and Europe. As a result, NGHC has tentative demand commitments for a significant portion of its projected production capacity. Saudi Arabia's Dual Strategy: Green Energy and Oil Expansion While Saudi Arabia is ramping up investments in renewable energy and hydrogen, it continues to maintain its dominant position in oil and gas. Last year, Saudi Aramco announced dozens of new research and development projects at its Dhahran headquarters aimed at reducing emissions while continuing to produce roughly 9 million barrels of crude oil daily. Aramco projects that these technology advancements could lower its emissions by 15% by 2035, equivalent to 51.1 million metric tonnes of CO? annually. 'Our strategy is not about replacing one source with another, but rather about improving the efficiency and sustainability of all forms of energy to meet growing global demand,' said Ahmad Al-Khowaiter, Aramco's executive vice president for technology and innovation. Part of this strategy includes major investments in carbon capture and storage (CCS). At its Hawiyah gas processing facility, Aramco is capturing carbon dioxide for enhanced oil recovery, injecting it into underground reservoirs located 50 miles away. The company aims to reduce the cost of carbon capture by 50% to ensure commercial viability and has set a target to store around 9 million tonnes of CO? annually at its Jubail facility starting in 2028. In parallel, Aramco has expanded its hydrogen portfolio, acquiring a 50% stake in Blue Hydrogen Industrial Gases Company (BHIG), a subsidiary of Air Products Qudra—a joint venture between Air Products and Qudra Energy of Saudi Arabia. Diversifying Beyond Energy: Mining Sector Expansion In addition to energy diversification, Saudi Arabia is accelerating the development of its mining sector, aiming to increase its contribution to GDP from $17 billion to $75 billion by 2035. Recent initiatives include partnerships with international mining companies such as Barrick Gold, Ma'aden, Zijin Group of China, and India's Vedanta. In December 2024, the Kingdom finalized nine investment deals worth over 35 billion riyals ($9.3 billion) under its Global Supply Chain Resilience Initiative, targeting critical minerals needed for battery technologies and global supply chains. 'These agreements strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as a key supplier of critical materials while building domestic manufacturing capacity and promoting sustainability,' said Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Minister of Investment. Warren Buffett Is Wagering 72% of Berkshire Hathaway's $283 Billion of Invested Capital on These 7 Unstoppable Stocks

Riding Warren Buffett's coattails and mirroring his trading activity has been a profitable venture for decades. Buffett and his late right-hand man Charlie Munger have long believed in putting most of Berkshire's capital to work in their top ideas. Seven magnificent stocks account for more than $203 billion of Berkshire Hathaway's $283 billion investment portfolio. 10 stocks we like better than Apple › There's probably not a money manager on Wall Street who garners as much attention as Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A)(NYSE: BRK.B) CEO Warren Buffett. The appropriately named "Oracle of Omaha" has overseen a nearly 6,000,000% aggregate return in his company's Class A shares (BRK.A) through the closing bell on June 9. For the sake of comparison, the broad-based S&P 500's total return, including dividends, is a shade over 40,000% over the same 60-year timeline. Despite Buffett being 94 years old and planning to step down as CEO by the end of the year, investors still eagerly follow his investing activity. Riding Buffett's coattails and mirroring his trading activity has been a profitable venture for decades. But one of the most defining aspects of Warren Buffett's investment philosophy has been his penchant for portfolio concentration. Both Buffett and late right-hand man Charlie Munger believed in putting an outsized percentage of their company's invested assets to work in their best ideas. With less than seven months to go before Buffett officially cedes his long-held executive role to Greg Abel, he's wagering 72% ($203.3 billion) of Berkshire Hathaway's $283 billion of invested assets on just seven unstoppable stocks. Despite Buffett paring down 67% of Berkshire's stake in Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) since Sept. 30, 2023, it still represents the Oracle of Omaha's largest holding by a substantial amount. While Apple's calling card has often been its innovation, as well as its ongoing transformation into a higher-margin subscription-driven operating model, Buffett's investment in Apple primarily revolves around his keen understanding of consumer behaviors. Apple has an exceptionally loyal customer base, and most importantly consumers trust the brand. Additionally, Apple has the world's leading share-repurchase program. Since kicking off its buyback initiative in 2013, Apple has spent more than $750 billion to reduce its outstanding share count by 43.3%. Lowering its share count has undoubtedly had a positive impact on the company's earnings per share. Credit-services titan American Express (NYSE: AXP) is one of eight holdings Berkshire's chief has no intention of ever selling, based on his 2023 annual letter to shareholders. Shares of AmEx, as American Express is more-commonly known, have been held continuously by Berkshire Hathaway since 1991. What's made AmEx so special is its ability to benefit from both sides of a transaction. In the U.S., it's the third-largest payment processor by credit card network purchase volume, which allows it to collect fees from merchants. However, it's also a lender, which means it's able to double dip by collecting fees and/or interest income from personal and corporate cardholders. Furthermore, American Express has a knack for attracting high-earning clientele. High earners are less likely to alter their spending habits or fail to pay their bill during modest economic downturns. On paper, AmEx is well positioned to navigate short-lived recessions. Consumer staples giant Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) is another of the "indefinite" holdings listed by Buffett in his 2023 annual letter to shareholders. It's also Berkshire Hathaway's longest-tenured holding (since 1988). Coca-Cola's long-term outperformance is a reflection of its relatively unrivaled geographic diversity. It has operations in every country, save for North Korea, Cuba, and Russia, the latter of which stems from its 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Servicing almost the entire globe ensures predictable operating cash flow in developed countries, as well as moves the organic growth needle in faster-paced emerging markets. Although Apple has the best capital-return program on the planet, it's Coca-Cola that's the dividend gem of Buffett's eye. Coca-Cola has raised its base annual dividend for 63 consecutive years and is currently paying $0.51/quarter, or $2.04 annually. With Berkshire's cost basis in Coca-Cola stock a microscopic $3.2475 per share, Buffett's company is more than doubling its initial investment from dividends alone every 21 months! Since July 17, 2024, Buffett has overseen the sale of more than 401 million shares of Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) stock. Yet even with this somewhat aggressive profit-taking that's reduced Berkshire's stake in BofA by 39%, it still accounts for 10% of invested assets. The reason Berkshire's chief loves financials (and specifically bank stocks) so much is their cyclical ties to the U.S. economy. Rather than trying to time when inevitable recessions will occur, Buffett has packed his company's portfolio with businesses that can take advantage of the fact that economic expansions last considerably longer than recessions. Bank of America's ability to prudently expand its loan portfolio during long-winded expansions has made it a clear winner. Bank of America is also the most interest-sensitive of America's money-center banks. When the nation's central bank was increasing interest rates at the fastest pace in four decades between March 2022 and July 2023, no large bank saw its interest income climb faster than BofA. Even though the Fed is now in a rate-easing cycle, it's slow-stepping its moves and allowing Bank of America to generate plenty of high-interest loans. Energy stocks haven't played a big role in Berkshire Hathaway's investment portfolio in decades, until somewhat recently. Integrated oil and gas goliath Chevron (NYSE: CVX) is currently a top-five holding for the Oracle of Omaha. Warren Buffett wouldn't have $16.7 billion invested in an energy company if he and his top advisors weren't optimistic about the future spot price of crude oil. A lack of capital investment by global energy majors for a three-year period during the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, creates a situation where crude oil supply may remain constrained for years to come. A higher spot price for oil can supercharge Chevron's drilling segment, which generates its juiciest margins. However, Chevron is one of the most ideally positioned of all integrated operators. It also oversees transmission pipelines, as well as chemical plants and refineries. If the spot price of crude oil declines, Chevron's cash flow from its midstream and downstream segments can pick up the slack. The third longest-tenured stock in Berkshire Hathaway's $283 billion investment portfolio is credit-rating agency Moody's (NYSE: MCO), which has been a continuous holding since it was spun off from Dun & Bradstreet on Sept. 30, 2000. It's also a stock that Buffett's company has gained more than 4,760% on, relative to its cost basis. What made Moody's such a phenomenal business for so long is its Investors Service segment, which encompasses credit ratings and risk analysis for public companies and governmental entities. More than a decade of historically low lending rates encouraged businesses and local, state, and federal governments to borrow, which in turn kept credit-rating agencies like Moody's busy. With interest rates meaningfully climbing since 2022, Moody's Analytics has come into focus and picked up the slack. This is the division that provides intelligence and analytical tools to help businesses navigate changing regulatory environments and assess risk. The seventh and final stock that, along with Apple, AmEx, Coca-Cola, BofA, Chevron, and Moody's, collectively helps to account for 72% of Warren Buffett's investment wagers at Berkshire Hathaway is integrated oil and gas company Occidental Petroleum (NYSE: OXY). The Oracle of Omaha has purchased almost 265 million shares of Occidental common stock since the beginning of 2022, which is worth about $11.5 billion, as of the closing bell on June 9, 2025. Though it's an integrated energy company like Chevron, Occidental Petroleum generates an outsized percentage of its net sales from its drilling operations. If the spot price of crude oil is rising, Occidental's operating cash flow will enjoy disproportional benefits, relative to other integrated operators. But the reciprocal is also true, with Occidental getting punished more than its peers if the price of oil declines. Another factor that makes Occidental Petroleum somewhat of an odd pick for Warren Buffett is its relatively debt-heavy balance sheet. While it did manage to reduce its long-term debt since the height of the pandemic, Occidental has far less financial flexibility than energy majors like Chevron. Down More Than 90% From Its All-Time High, Is Newsmax Stock a Buy on the Dip or an Investment to Steer Clear of?

Newsmax went public in late March, and its stock rocketed higher quickly, then plunged back toward its IPO price. It's demonstrating impressive growth in viewership and follower interactions on social media. Even at its now-lower price, Newsmax stock isn't cheap. 10 stocks we like better than Newsmax › Newsmax (NYSE: NMAX) has only been a public company for about three months, but the conservative media outlet caught public attention at its initial public offering (IPO), surging from its IPO price of $10 to $233 within a few days, then began a precipitous drop back. It's now trading around 94% below its high, in the neighborhood of $14 to $15. But is it a rare buying opportunity at that price or a value trap? Newsmax is a conservative media company with several revenue-generating assets, including broadcast TV channels and other media outlets that make money from advertising, as well as products like books and a nutraceutical business. The company has been around since 1998 as a digital media company, but its cable network got off the ground in 2014. It rose to prominence during the 2020 election cycle, and over the past five years, it has signed several important streaming deals that put its content in front of its target audiences. It has been demonstrating strong growth, powered in part by the resurgence of the Republican party in the 2024 elections. It's now the fourth-highest-rated cable news network as well as the fastest growing, and it's the fifth-highest-rated network on weekdays in all of basic cable. In 2024, its total viewership increased by 22%, while weekend watchers increased by 48%. It reaches 60 million homes through its TV networks and 20 million on social media, and it had a record 33.6 million viewers in the first quarter, up 50% year over year. Among news companies, it has the highest social interaction rate per follower on Meta Platforms' Facebook and Instagram, as well as X. Its rates in 2024 were 241% higher than Fox News. Newsmax has also been cementing new relationships to grow its brand, viewers, and followers. It recently signed distribution deals with networks in Armenia and Israel, and it's bringing new voices into its media to drive more engagement. These are impressive stats, but they coincided with President Donald Trump's second inauguration and a Republican takeover of both the House and the Senate. The political scene has been unusually eventful, leading to increased interest in conservative politics. That's likely to persist in the current quarter. However, the company's financials were mixed in the first quarter. In its first earnings report as a public company, Newsmax revealed that its revenue had increased by 11.6% year over year to $45.3 million, mostly driven by ad revenue. It also booked a net loss of $17.2 million. Newsmax isn't a new company, so its red ink on the bottom line is concerning. And I'd be concerned about the revenue-generating opportunities, considering that it's hitting new highs in viewership. It could very well continue to rise as its content resonates with its target audience, but I'd need to see that before concluding that this is an investment-worthy stock. In other words, the upside could be limited here -- partially because it takes strongly partisan stances that will only appeal to a certain portion of viewers and partially because its viewership might wax and wane with the public's interest in politics. Newsmax is courting a large fraction of the U.S. public that finds its content resonant. It's strengthening its brand across content channels and regions, which could give it staying power past the current news cycle. However, there are risks in its limited viewership and seasonal news cycles. There's another factor weighing against it, too, and that's its expensive price tag. Even after its plunge back toward its IPO price, Newsmax trades today at a price-to-sales ratio of 11, which is a rich valuation for a company that's reporting 12% sales growth and booking net losses. Newsmax could be an interesting stock to watch, but it doesn't look like a buy at today's prices. Before you buy stock in Newsmax, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the for investors to buy now… and Newsmax wasn't one of them.
