I'm a mum but people always think I'm my teen daughter's sister – it's such a boost, we share the same friends too
Lisa Johnston said people are often "gobsmacked" when they learn she's 36 and mum to her 18-year-old "built-in best friend" Alicia Johnston.

The semi-permanent make-up artist was just 17 when she had Alicia and says people regularly stare in the supermarket when they hear her beautician daughter call her 'Mum'.
The lookalike pair, often mistaken as sisters on the school run, share clothes, make-up, shoes and even friends with one another.
The mum-of-two artist regularly posts TikTok videos with Alicia leaving baffled users scratching their heads as to whether they really are mum and daughter or not - something Lisa sees as a "confidence boost".
Lisa, from Glasgow, Scotland, said: "Everybody's a bit gobsmacked.
"We've been out a couple of times together at pubs and things like that and everybody can't believe it either. They're like, 'What? Are you friends or sisters?'.
"Someone once asked to see my ID because they couldn't believe it in one of the pubs we were at in town.
"We could be out doing a food shop or something and maybe Alicia will turn around and say, 'Mum, can I get this?'
"And you see people turn around and look as if to say, 'Mum?' They're really confused.
"People thought when I was picking Alicia up from school that it was her older sister.
I'm a 65-year-old gran but look so young people think I'm my daughter's twin - they're stunned when they hear the truth
"People were like, 'You're picking your daughter up? What?' I did used to just laugh it off.
"People say I look really young, it's quite nice actually, it's a confidence boost.
"It's nice to know that I've actually produced a mini me. A few people have said we're like 'copy and paste'.
"The more Alicia is getting older I can now see the big resemblance especially when we're doing the videos and things together. It is kind of like who's who?"
Age-defying Lisa credits a healthy lifestyle and avoiding unnecessary stress for her youthful looks.
She said: "Fitness and healthy eating is a big part of my lifestyle. I go to the gym five times a week.
"I just try not to get too stressed out. I take life as fun, we're all just living life.
"I don't get myself too riled up on anything, I think that's a big part as well.
"It really is like having a built-in best friend."
Youthful Lisa is also great pals with all of Alicia's pals - with daughter Alicia saying she's "part of the friendship group".
Alicia said: "My friends love coming over because my mum is like a friend. They'll just chat away to her.
"There will be times where I'm minding my own business and I'll get a phone call and they're like, 'I'm out with your mum right now.'
"She's part of the friendship group.
"I'm never really bothered when people mistake us for sisters, I think it's funny.
"I would say this only started when I was about 15. I was just starting TikTok and me and mum were making TikTok videos together sometimes.
"As I got older and I looked more like my mum, people were like, 'oh my God, you actually look so similar'.
"We've basically got the same make-up routine and everything. So it's actually good sharing make-up shoes, hair products, everything."
The pair share the same love of looking glam and Lisa has even taken an eyelash course so she can do her daughter's lashes on a budget.
Lisa said: "I ended up showing Alicia how to do them [lashes] as well so that was something that we do together.
"It was something I could pass down to her.
"I was like, 'as they get older, the girls will want things done and their mum can do it instead of spending hundreds of pounds'."
Social media users have been quick to share their confusion with some even questioning if they are really mother and daughter.
One user said: "That is not your mummy she looks in her 20s."

Danniella Westbrook SPLITS from boxer boyfriend Chasa Symonds: Actress eyes up huge dating show to find 'true love' and someone who isn't a 'clout chaser' after heartbreak
has split from her boyfriend Chasa Symonds following a whirlwind romance. The actress, 51, revealed she has parted ways with the boxer, 42, in a new interview with the Daily Star, as she shared her hopes to sign up to Celebs Go Dating. Danniella previously called Chasa her 'soulmate and love of her life' and even hinted at marriage plans. The pair reportedly began as friends after meeting in a Croydon pub, and had known each other for six years before deciding to take their relationship to the next level. While it is currently unknown why Danniella and Chasa split, she admitted she hopes to find 'true love' with someone who isn't a 'clout chaser'. She said: 'I'd love to do Celebs Go Dating. I need to find true love. I thought I'd found it, but I was wrong.' Danniella added: 'I'd love to meet someone who's not a clout chaser, someone genuine who isn't obsessed with social media or has a massive ego. 'Just someone real, with a bit of drive. Someone who doesn't want to suddenly be an actor or go on Big Brother once you've lived with them, you know, suddenly they want to give up everything they're doing and become famous.' 'When you get to 51, and you think you've found 'the one', like I thought I had not too long ago, and it doesn't work out, it knocks you a bit. So now, I'm just trying to find that spark and energy again.' Daily Mail has contacted Danniella's representatives for comment. The former EastEnders star was previously married to Ben Morgan between 1998 and 1999 and then Kevin Jenkins from 2001 to 2014, while she also dated Brian Harvey from 1991-1995 at the height of his band East 17's fame. It was previously reported that Danniella said she finally found her 'soulmate' and was planning to marry the bare-knuckle boxer who 'doesn't judge her'. An insider told OK! magazine: 'Danniella feels that she's found her soulmate. Chasa doesn't judge her one bit and doesn't care what has happened in her past. 'He understands all about the issues she's been through but is supportive – he just wants to make her happy. 'She's really smitten and feels like she can trust him, which is a really big deal for her.' News of her split comes after Danniella shared a worrying post on Instagram in June, admitting she 'hates herself' and 'doesn't have anymore battles left in her'. The former EastEnders star was said to have uploaded a now-deleted video of herself crying as she expressed her fears of having an infection following her latest operation. While she also told how she was forced to stay in the house for 'hours' because her boyfriend Chasa went to visit his child without leaving her a key, meaning she didn't have a means to let herself back inside. Danniella's management team shared an update on the actress, revealing that she's 'great and thriving', noting that there's 'no worries'. Taking to Instagram stories on Monday, talent agent RIB Entertainment shared a snap of the ex soap star, writing: 'Just a quick update for anyone wondering - our amazing client Danielle Westbrook is doing great and thriving! 'No worries, she's in a great place and shining as always. Thanks for all the love and support!' [sic] They later shared a further update confirming Danniella had many 'exciting' things in the works, remarking: 'Big week ahead with Danielle - loads of exciting things in the pipeline! Can't wait to share it all with you.' [sic] After noting she was in a 'good place', Danniella's team later shared a further update confirming Danniella had many 'exciting' things in the works The talent agency also added an image to their grid of Danniella backstage at a TV interview, alongside the words: 'A woman who's lived in the spotlight, battled storms in silence, and still stands strong. Actress. Mother. Survivor. Her story isn't over — it's just getting powerful.' Meanwhile, another story shared by Danniella herself contained a quote which read: 'You can either shrink or you can rise. Think like a boss'. The post was captioned with the message: 'Danniella sends her apologies and has gone away to rest and recover alone before she starts her new role in August.' In the deleted video, viewed by Daily Mail, Danniella told how following her recent surgery, she wanted to stay in hospital because she was scared she'd contracted a serious infection. Earlier this month, Danniella revealed she was getting her 'face rebuilt' as she headed into 'very long' surgery two years after admitting she hated the results of her last facial reconstruction. As she sobbed to the camera, she told how she had applied a filter because she 'hates how she looks and hates herself'. She then she said that her partner Chasa had come with her to the hospital and had been her 'knight in shining armour'. The clip saw the TV personality then revealing she was not feeling well and needed to go back to the hospital, but Chasa was going to Croydon and couldn't take her. After initially declaring that she'd instead get the tube, Danniella told how Chasa did take her in the end and stayed with her, with medics informing her that she had an infection. Danniella explained that when she was home, Chasa went to take his kid out, with the star stating that if he was ill, she would have stayed with him. She said that he left her in the house alone for hours and she couldn't go out as he wouldn't leave her a key and therefore, she could not get back in The video then saw her break down again, saying she doesn't have 'anymore battles left In her'. Danniella's team later confirmed that following her concerning posts, her social media accounts have been temporarily removed while she works on her mental health. Alongside a glam snap of the star, RIB Entertainment penned: 'OFFICIAL STATEMENT: DANNIELLA WESTBROOK 'In light of emotional content recently shared on social media, we want to reassure everyone that Danniella is safe and being supported by the right people. 'Her social media accounts have been temporarily taken offline as she takes this time to focus on her mental health and wellbeing.' The actress' battle with drugs has been well-publicised, her nose was reconstructed after her septum collapsed from excessive cocaine use (left in 2009 and right in 2023) Danniella has in the past undergone various reconstructive operations in a bid to fix her 'collapsing' face due to her previous cocaine addiction and osteoporosis. In 2023, she admitted that she hated the results of the facial reconstruction she had that year, having up until that point waited seven years to find a surgeon willing to do the operation due to the condition of her septum. At the start of May, Danniella dropped hints about her romance with retired professional welterweight boxer Chasa as she shared a video of the two larking around together, captioning her post: 'We like to laugh.' The post was met with a plethora of comments from fans encouraging her potential new romance, with both Danniella and Chasa responding with red heart emojis. Days later, the TV star hinted that the romance was getting serious on Instagram where she shared snaps from her Greek getaway with Chasa. This was confirmed by Chasa himself, who wrote on Instagram: 'Sometimes that one friend is just too good to let go.' They also shared loved-up, smiley snaps of the pair enjoying a coffee, captioning the post: 'Perfect end to the night ❤️ the pictures tell the story.' Later during the holiday, Chasa confirmed to his Instagram followers that he had asked Danniella to be his girlfriend, with the Sam Mitchell star writing in the comments that it was the 'easiest yes I've ever said.' They've since shared a plethora of romantic pictures and videos as they've continued to see each other, with the pair enjoying dates at the likes of Canvey Island and a safari.

Andy Carroll reveals he is back with girlfriend Lou Teasdale after split as he vows to cut booze to save relationship
EX-England footie ace Andy Carroll has revealed he is back with girlfriend Lou Teasdale after a stormy split — and vowed to cut down on booze to save their relationship. Opening up about his feelings for stylist Lou in an exclusive interview with the Sun on Sunday, Andy said: 'I love Lou and I love her family. We row like any couple.' 4 The pair have been dating since his split last summer from ex-wife and former Towie star Billi Mucklow, 37. They are currently divorcing. The 36-year-old former Premier League star said: 'Things have been difficult for me and I'm going through a divorce. 'Some of our rows have been about alcohol, as Lou has been teetotal for 14 years and I have a beer or wine at dinner and a drink after the game, but it's not a problem in my life. 'I'm a professional footballer and that's not the case. I play sport every single day so my level of fitness is really good. I play football every day so I'm fit.' The Sun revealed on Wednesday the couple had split, with Andy unfollowing celebrity make-up artist Lou, 41, on social media. But now he has told The Sun on Sunday that after a misunderstanding in Spain, he and Lou have patched things up. Former Liverpool and Newcastle striker Andy, who now plays for non-league Dagenham & Redbridge FC, said: 'We're better off together and we're trying to work through our difficulties.' In June, we reported Carroll was twice quizzed by police over bust-ups with Lou during a break on Greek party island Mykonos. He was questioned about rows with her at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. He was taken to the police station after the second incident. Ex-England star Andy Carroll DUMPS Lou Teasdale after police quiz over boozy rows as he tells pals he's 'sick' of her Speaking about the restaurant incident now, Andy — pictured with Lou, above, as he signed for his new club last month — insisted: 'There was no alcohol involved. We argued about me having three coffees in the morning. She was worried I was addicted to coffee and it went from there.' A joint statement from them at the time said: 'Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. 'It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there.' It added: 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. 'No one was arrested and no one was charged with anything. 'We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.' Andy returned to England last month, having left French fourth-tier side Bordeaux to play for Dagenham & Redbridge and to be close to his children, who live in Essex. He said: 'I just want to focus on my kids. They're more important than anything. I'm loving life back in England. 'Obviously when I was working in France, I was there alone, and I was out with the lads a lot. Now I'm back home with the kids and it's just a different way of life.' Last September, the Sun on Sunday reported Andy and Billi, who have three children, were divorcing after two years of marriage. The couple started dating in 2013, soon after he joined West Ham. And he popped the question during a romantic holiday in Rome in 2014. That year Billi said: 'He is one of the most genuine and caring people I have ever met.' Gateshead-born Carroll, who has two children from a previous relationship, has often been in the news over his romps, brawls and court cases. 4 4 He said meeting Billi turned his life around. Carroll's boyhood dreams came true when he began his professional football career with Newcastle United in 2006. The big centre-forward was soon a hit with Toon fans, following in the footsteps of another local idol Alan Shearer. In 2009-10, Carroll scored 17 goals in 39 games, and 11 in nine games the following season. In 2011, he earned a £35million transfer to Liverpool, a then record fee for a British player. At his peak he was picked for England in nine games between 2010-2012, including scoring against Sweden at Euro 2012. He was sold by Liverpool to West Ham but struggled with a series of injuries. His career saw him moving on to a succession of clubs including back to Newcastle, later to Reading and then West Brom. Carroll's career, although full of ups and downs, has brought him enormous sums of money. In May 2019, he was listed as the 14th wealthiest sports person aged 30 or under in The Sunday Times Rich List. His fortune at the time was said to have increased to £19million.
