Deals: iPhone 16 and 15 series is £100 off, Honor 400 series comes with freebies

This week (almost) the entire lineup of current iPhone models is £100 off – the only exception to that is the iPhone 16e, which sticks to its £600 base price (but it may not be the best phone for that money, as we're about to see). Starting with the top-end model, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max is pricey – a situation not helped by expensive storage upgrades. The discount helps, though. For more details on the phone, check out our comparison articles that pit the iPhone 16 Pro Max against the smaller iPhone 16, the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Then there is the smaller iPhone 16 Pro – it has the same hardware, besides the screen size and battery capacity. Here's how it compares against the vanilla iPhone 16 and the Galaxy S25. Speaking of, the Apple iPhone 16 is just about the same size as the 16 Pro. It doesn't have a telephoto camera or a 120Hz ProMotion display and it uses the Apple A18 chipset (rather than the A18 Pro). Still, it offers broadly the same Apple experience. The Apple iPhone 16 Plus is for people who prefer a larger screen, but don't want the premium features – and premium price – of the Pro Max. Here are the key differences between the Plus and the vanilla iPhone 16. The older vanilla models are still around too. The iPhone 15 is down to £600, the same price as the 16e. Both have 6.1' displays, but the older model has the better panel (brighter, Dolby Vision). And it has a 12MP ultra-wide camera, while the 16e only has a 48MP main. The 16e does have the newer chipset (Apple A18 vs. A16) with Apple's first-ever 5G modem. The e-phone has wireless charging, but without the magnets it fits awkwardly with the MagSafe ecosystem of accessories. The Apple iPhone 15 Plus is available as a cheaper option to the 16 Plus for those wanting a larger display. Amazon is offering the two new Honor 400 phones with a rich bundle of freebies in lieu of discounts. The Honor 400 Pro comes with a free pair of Honor Choice Earbuds Clip, a free Honor Watch and a free Portable Speaker Pro. The Honor 400 is paired with a free Honor Pad X8a instead – an 11' tablet with a Snapdragon 680 chipset, quad speakers and an 8,300mAh battery. You could buy the game separately too, of course, which currently comes out cheaper as the game is £75. Alternatively, you can pick up the Sony PlayStation 5 (slim) for a lot less – just £385. No, it's not a portable console like the Switch, it's strictly for gaming at home (which is how a lot of people use the Switch anyway). You can grab a PlayStation Portal for £200 more and still be under the price of a Switch 2. T-Mobile MVNO Mint Mobile calls this its "Craziest phone deal yet"

Mint Mobile is now promoting what it calls its "Craziest Phone Deal Yet" which means that you want to know all about it. The T-Mobile MVNO says that starting today (which is Thursday, June 5th) you can sign up to receive unlimited premium wireless service and the Samsung Galaxy S25 phone for just $30 per month. The device features Galaxy AI and Mint points out that there are no catches and no contracts. Keep in mind that this is a limited-time offer. The deal coincides with a huge update that brings RCS (Rich Communication Services) Messaging to Mint and Ultra Mobile subscribers. Instead of old-school SMS and MMS texting, Mint and Ultra Mobile customers will get benefits such as the ability to send and receive longer messages, high-resolution images and videos, typing indicators, read receipts, end-to-end encryption on supported platforms, and more. RCS is available regardless of whether the subscriber is using an iPhone or an Android device. For Mint Mobile subscribers this means that they won't have to switch apps or lose helpful features just because the person they are texting doesn't use the same mobile wireless platform that they do. Mint Mobile customers also shouldn't have to lose these features because someone using a different wireless platform joins their chat. Get unlimited premium wireless service and a free Pixel 9 or Galaxy S25 for only $30 per month from Mint Mobile. | Image credit-Mint Mobile Mint Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Fried might have been joking when he said, "When we brought this idea to our finance team, they thought we were joking." Apparently, it's no joke. Mint's plans include free mobile hotspot, Wi-Fi calling, free roaming in Canada, and more. RCS must be enabled on all devices for cross-OS RCS messaging. If the Samsung Galaxy S25 is not your cup of tea, you can get the same deal and pay $30 a month for 24 months for unlimited premium wireless service and a Pixel 9. You must port-in your existing number and pay $720 upfront for 24 months of premium phone service along with 24 months of device payments. After 24 months, the plans renew automatically at standard rates. Unlimited customers consuming more than 35GB of data during a month could find that their data speeds have been throttled during periods when there is heavy traffic on the network.

Discover Samsung Summer sale in the US drops Galaxy S25 and Tab S10 prices

Samsung US's annual summer sale is live this week and has offers on all Samsung products until June 8 (Sunday). We focused on the Galaxy section of the store, of course, and here is what we found. Smartphones All four members of the Galaxy S25 family have effectively the same promo – a free storage upgrade and trade-in credit up to different amounts (depending on the model). The new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge tops out at 512GB, so that's the only variant available. You can also get up to $630 off by sending in an old phone. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has 512GB and 1TB variants with the prices of the tier below. The trade-in credit is the same as the Edge. By the way, check out Amazon US's Father's Day deals – there is an S25 Ultra for $1,000. The Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ have just the one storage upgrade – to 256GB and to 512GB, respectively. Wearables The deals for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch7 are slightly different – you get a straight discount if you choose the no trade-in option or you can do a trade-in. There's also the Galaxy Ring, which can be used instead of or in addition to a Galaxy Watch. This one only has a trade-in deal. Samsung Galaxy Ring up to $150 trade-in Read our review Tablets The tablet deals are structured similarly to the watches – you get either a straight discount or a trade-in deal. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is an exception to that as you get $400 off with no trade-in or $200 off plus the value of your old device. The Galaxy Tab S10+ is an either/or deal. There are also the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ and Tab S10 FE. Laptops The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro is a lightweight 14' laptop (2.71lbs). It has a 2,880 x 1,800px OLED touch screen and is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with Arc 140V graphics. Instead of x86, you can go with ARM – the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is powered by a Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-42-100, 8 cores) or X Elite (X1E-84-100, 12 cores) chipset. This one weighs 3.26lbs. We may get a commission from qualifying sales.
