Packers lead the way with seven legends announcing draft picks
Hosting the NFL Draft has its perks, including having a deep lineup of former players announcing picks. On Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter posted the list of former and active players scheduled to take the stage to announce their teams' picks during this year's draft, and the Packers -- who are hosting the 2025 draft in Green Bay -- have the most with seven.
Those seven are:
Mason Crosby
Ahman Green
James Jones
Jerry Kramer
Clay Matthews
Jordy Nelson
Dave Robinson
Naturally, these players are among the team's biggest draft success stories, with Kramer and Robinson both being in the NFL Hall of Fame for being standout players during the Vince Lombardi era. Kramer was a fourth-round pick by Green Bay in 1958, and Robinson was a first-round pick in 1963.
Crosby, a sixth-round pick back in 2007, has the most points in franchise history. He recently announced his retirement from the NFL after 17 seasons, 16 of which were with the Packers.
Green was a third-round pick in 1998 and became the team's all-time leader in rushing attempts and yards.
Meanwhile, Jones, Matthews, and Nelson were all members of the 2010 team that defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV to claim the franchise's fourth Super Bowl. Drafted in back-to-back years—Jones in 2007 and Nelson in 2008—both receivers rank in the top 15 in franchise history for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. Matthews was a first-round pick in 2009 and remains Green Bay's all-time sack leader with 83.5.
This year marks the first time the Packers are hosting the NFL Draft. The first round kicks off on Thursday, April 24, followed by Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, and concluding with rounds 4-7 on Saturday.
Green Bay currently holds eight draft picks, but it remains unclear which player will announce which selection.

The Russell Wilson trait that can transform the Giants offense
Darius Slayton's comments were telling. He did not mention Daniel Jones by name when describing Russell Wilson's deep-ball ability. But as the longest-tenured Giant (tied with Dexter Lawrence), having played pretty much his whole career with Jones as his quarterback, there's really nobody else with whom he has significant experience in the NFL. And he already notices an important difference with Wilson.

WATCH: Is Josh Allen the NFL's best quarterback entering 2025?
WATCH: Is Josh Allen the NFL's best quarterback entering 2025? Ranking the quarterbacks across the NFL is always a popular offseason debate because it brings on arguments of people standing up for their favorite team's signal caller. As for who the best quarterback in the NFL is, well there hasn't been much of a debate in recent years. With the success of the Kansas City Chiefs under head coach Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes has been undeniable as the league's top dog. But, that has changed over the last year. It's not like Mahomes has fallen off a cliff, but his performance over the last couple years hasn't been up to par with the electric start to his NFL career. And so, guys like Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow have caught up to him in terms of individual performance, and they have probably surpassed him at this point. Allen makes the best argument for the new ringleader among NFL QBs. He hasn't gotten past Mahomes' Chiefs in the postseason yet (0-4 in his career), but his individual play has surpassed Mahomes. Allen took home the league's MVP in 2024 after leading the Buffalo Bills to a 13-4 record in a season which many thought they would be going through a slight rebuild. Instead, he led the team to the AFC title game after posting his fifth-straight 40-touchdown season (no NFL QB has accomplished this feat in more than three straight seasons). For a few years, the only knock on Allen was that he committed too many turnovers. Not only did he clean that up in 2024 (only six on the year), but he kept his high-level of playmaking and still made everyone around him better. This is why declaring Allen as the NFL's best QB is picking up steam. Pro Football Focus' Sam Monson is the latest to say Allen is the best in the land right now, saying, "I think Allen's the guy right now." Watch the clip from Monson below:

Ex-NFL head doctor: New York Giants' Malik Nabers not practicing a red flag
The New York Giants selected wide receiver Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Until the explosion of Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Nabers was highly thought to be in line for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. We all know what happened there, but that doesn't lessen the impact Nabers has had on the Giants' offense. Unfortunately, Nabers hasn't been on the field at all this offseason, nursing a nagging toe injury. It's something that dates back to his college days at LSU, and one former NFL doctor says it's a huge red flag that he hasn't been on the field yet. "I would (be concerned)," said Dr. David J. Chao, an orthopedic surgeon who spent 17 years as an NFL doctor. "I would because if you're not on the field in June, you haven't played football in five-plus months. You've only got two months before real football is being played. If you're not ready in five months, what's two more months gonna do, right? "And he's a speed/quickness/in-and-out-of-routes guy, you know he's going to need his big toe for that. And apparently that was from a college injury that's lingered or come up again, so now the word 'chronic' comes into play. So, yeah, I do have some worries for Malik Nabers." Now, maybe it's a red flag, and maybe it is chronic, but let's just look at Nabers' stats from his rookie campaign. He recorded 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. He was, by far, the most productive Giants' wide receiver in 2024 and ranked inside the top 10 receivers in the NFL. He did this while nursing the same toe injury, apparently. So, while it's not ideal that Nabers hasn't been on the field yet, it's not overly concerning, either.
