Tata Power-DDL, in collaboration with Japan-based Nissin Electric Co Ltd, has commissioned India's first micro substation with power voltage transformer (PVT) that will provide low-cost and reliable power supply to consumers.
According to a statement, the PVT technology enables direct conversion of high-voltage power from transmission lines into low-voltage power suitable for residential use.
Tata Power-DDL, a leading power utility serves around 9 million consumers in North Delhi.
The project is a part of International Demonstration Project on Japan's Energy Efficiency Technologies, publicly solicited by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
To commence this project, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power -DDL) and Nissin Electric signed a project agreement on August 21, 2024.
The introduction of micro substation with PVT technology is primarily aimed at low cost and reliable power supply to remote load centers with challenging terrains.
It will also be helpful in urban landscapes where there are challenges for network extension to meet the growing load.
Tata Power's competitors in the energy sector are power generation companies like Adani Power, Torrent Power and Anil Ambani's Reliance Power.
This collaboration will help the Tata in direct conversion of high-voltage power from transmission lines and can be a challenge for Anil Ambani's Reliance Power and Gautam Adani's Adani Power.

Adani Power Q1 results: Net profit falls 16% to Rs 3,305 crore; revenue declines on lower tariffs and higher costs

Adani Power Ltd (APL) reported a 15.53% decline in consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter, with earnings falling to Rs 3,305 crore amid pressure from subdued merchant tariffs and elevated operating costs linked to recent acquisitions. The country's largest private thermal power producer had posted a net profit of Rs 3,913 crore in the same period last year. Despite the year-on-year drop, net profit rose 27.1% sequentially, aided by one-time income and continued EBITDA momentum, PTI reported. Revenue from operations declined to Rs 14,167 crore in Q1 FY26, compared to Rs 15,052 crore in the year-ago quarter, mainly due to lower realisation from merchant sales and falling import coal prices. EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 5,744 crore, down from Rs 6,290 crore a year earlier. The company said while a moderation in fuel costs provided some relief, operating expenses increased following the acquisition of multiple assets. APL's installed capacity rose to 17,550 MW during the quarter, from 15,250 MW earlier, after acquiring the 1,200 MW Moxie Power Generation Ltd, 600 MW Korba Power Ltd, and 500 MW Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Flexible in AI & Data Science BITS Pilani Digital Apply Now With the completion of the 600 MW Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd deal in July, total capacity reached 18,150 MW. The company achieved a plant load factor (PLF) of 67% in Q1. Total power sales rose 1.6% year-on-year, driven by the increase in operational capacity and higher offtake from select plants. Merchant sales for the quarter were up 7.7% at 5.7 billion units, compared to 5.3 BU in Q1 FY25. The Godda plant in Jharkhand, which supplies power to Bangladesh, has started receiving regular payments from the Bangladesh Power Development Board, with inflows of $437 million in June and another $75 million in July 2025. 'Stable financial performance this quarter is a testament to its resilience and core strengths, even in the face of variability in power demand and unpredictable weather,' said S B Khyalia, CEO of Adani Power. 'We continue to bolster our capacity through swift project execution and strategic acquisitions, ensuring we are well-prepared for future growth on our path to 30 Giga Watts (GW) by 2030.' Total debt stood at Rs 44,372 crore as of June 30, 2025, compared to Rs 38,335 crore at the end of March. Net debt rose to Rs 37,437 crore from Rs 31,023 crore in the same period. The company said the increase was due to bridge loans for capex and higher working capital needs in line with expanding operations. Adani Power currently operates 18,110 MW of thermal capacity across 12 locations in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu, in addition to a 40 MW solar power plant in Gujarat. City Union Bank Q1 results analysis - JM Financial According to analysts at JM Financial, with a strong capital position (CAR at 23.1 per cent), a robust technology platform enabling scalable co-lending partnerships, and the ability to preserve margins, the bank is well-positioned to sustain its growth trajectory. The bank's minimal exposure to unsecured segments further underpins its resilient asset quality. The bank's net profit increased 6 per cent quarter-on-quarter (Q-o-Q), supported by 4 per cent Q-o-Q growth in NII and stable operating expenses. However, net interest margins (NIMs) moderated by 6 basis points sequentially, 3.5 per cent, though management expects them to remain steady, aided by deposit re-pricing in Q2FY26. "At 1.3x FY27E BVPS, the stock offers a compelling risk-reward profile. Sustained growth momentum, improving operating leverage, and prudent risk management should support further re-rating," the brokerage said in a note. JM Financial raised its FY26 earnings estimates by 5 per cent to factor in better-than-expected operating performance and build in average ROA/ROE of 1.5/13 per cent over FY26E–FY27E. The brokerage maintained a 'Buy' rating with a revised target price of ₹250, valuing the bank at 1.6x FY27E BVPS. Anlysts believe that CUB's healthy growth, coupled with strong RoA delivery (1.5-1.6 per cent over FY26-28E), capital buffers, and improving retail orientation, would help sustain premium valuations. The brokerage retained 'Buy' rating on the stock with revised target of ₹250 (up 19 per cent), now valuing the stock now at 1.5x Jun-27E ABV from 1.4x Mar-27E ABV earlier. However, it flagged macro deterioration hurting asset quality, higher ECL hit, KMP attrition in its retail banking team as key risks for the businesses. Falcon scam: ED attaches ₹18.14 crore worth properties

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has provisionally attached twelve immovable properties worth ₹18.14 crore in connection with the ₹792 crore fraud allegedly orchestrated by Hyderabad-based Capital Protection Force Pvt. Ltd. and its director Amardeep Kumar. The attachment, made under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, is part of an ongoing investigation into a bogus invoice discounting racket that duped hundreds of investors under the guise of high returns. The properties, attached on Wednesday (July 30, 2025), are held in the name of Amardeep Kumar, his family members, and two firms, Rhett Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. and Rhett Herbal Pvt. Ltd. According to the agency, the scam revolved around a scheme dubbed 'Falcon invoice discounting app', which promised attractive returns by purportedly financing business invoices. However, ED's probe has revealed there was no legitimate invoice discounting business at all. Instead, Amardeep Kumar allegedly developed and aggressively promoted the Falcon app through Google, YouTube and other social media platforms to solicit public investments. The entire scheme was a front, with investor money rerouted into a range of personal luxuries and corporate ventures, including equity investments, unsecured loans, casino spendings, and the purchase of a private jet. The ED pegged the total cheating amount around ₹792 crore, calling Amardeep Kumar the 'mastermind' behind the operation. The app served as the key tool for gathering deposits, while false promises of high returns masked the absence of any real business activity. Earlier in March, the ED had seized a 'Hawker 800A' aircraft allegedly bought by Amardeep Kumar using the proceeds of crime. That seizure came during a series of searches carried out on March 7, 2025. The money laundering investigation stems from three FIRs registered by the Economic Offences Wing, Cyberabad Police. These cases accused Kumar and his company of defrauding investors with promises of lucrative returns that never materialised. The ED said further investigation is ongoing.
