Matthew Perry's Doctor Pleads Guilty To Supplying Ketamine To 'Friends' Star

During a hearing in Los Angeles, the doctor admitted to supplying four counts of illegal distribution of the drug, which is used as a prescription anaesthetic. Late actor Matthew Perry's doctor Salvador Plasencia on Wednesday pleaded guilty to giving 'Friends' star ketamine before his tragic death. During a hearing in Los Angeles, the doctor admitted to supplying four counts of illegal distribution of the drug, which is used as a prescription anaesthetic. Salvador Plasencia will face a statutory maximum sentence of ten years in federal prison for each count at his sentencing hearing, which is scheduled for December 3, the US Attorney's Office of the Central District of California said in a press statement, as per CNN. He has also been directed to surrender his medical license within the next 30-45 days, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Plasencia took a plea deal in June in which he admitted to distributing ketamine without a legitimate medical purpose to the 'Friends' star, who died of an overdose in October 2023. In exchange, prosecutors dropped charges of falsifying medical records and additional counts of distribution, Variety reported. The lone remaining defendant in the case, Jasveen Sangha, nicknamed the 'Ketamine Queen," is scheduled to face a trial next month. She is alleged to have maintained a stash house in North Hollywood for the illicit distribution of the drug. Plasencia faces a theoretical maximum of 40 years behind bars, but is likely to receive far less than that under federal sentencing guidelines. Saiyaara Getting A Sequel After Blockbuster Success? Shaan, Who Played Mahesh Iyer, REACTS

Last Updated: Saiyaara fans are speculating a sequel featuring Krish, Vaani and Mahesh. Shaan R Grover responds to the buzz and shares emotional fan reactions. After Saiyaara's box office storm, fans are already dreaming about a sequel and now, one of the film's key characters is reacting to the buzz. While Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's characters Krish Kapoor and Vaani Batra find a fairytale ending in Mohit Suri's romantic drama, fans haven't stopped thinking about the antagonist, Mahesh Iyer, played by Shaan R Grover. In an interview with Zoom, Shaan shared his thoughts on the possibility of Saiyaara 2. 'As far as my character is concerned, a lot can be done later. Mahesh just vanished; it was abrupt," he said, before adding, 'Maybe it can be explored if these characters decide to go on a different journey. What if Vaani wants to meet Mahesh one last time, that could be a different character arc for Krish. There are no talks for the sequel right now. It depends on YRF and Mohit Suri." Interestingly, AI-generated fan art showing Krish and Vaani as parents has been going viral, further fuelling speculation about a sequel. Shaan also revealed how he and Aneet Padda prepared for the emotionally complex dynamic between their characters. 'Aneet and I had chemistry workshops. They were for us to bond with each other. When we have rehearsed, those scenes flow easily," he said. 'It was also to show that we dated for five years. For the backstory in the original script I had read, we had dated for five years and that's a long relationship. It shouldn't have felt that we met 2-3 months ago." On playing a morally grey character, he confessed, 'Of course, it is not easy to play such characters. I am not Mahesh Iyer. That's not how I function… A friend of mine experienced something similar and couldn't stop crying while watching Aneet's performance. Her 7-year-long relationship broke because her partner didn't want to marry and then ghosted her. That's when I realised that people like Mahesh do exist." Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara released in theatres on July 18 and has since crossed Rs 150 crore at the box office. Mandals & moortikars' hopes raised as govt favours sea immersion of large idols

Mumbai: The hopes of Ganeshotsav mandals and PoP moortikars were raised of having a resolution for the PoP conundrum in sight as govt submitted its immersion policy in an affidavit in HC on Wednesday stating that large idols of sarvajanik Ganeshotsav mandals can be immersed in the traditional manner in the sea with all necessary environmental precautions in place. Govt said the sanctity of the 125-year-old festival, including idol immersion, will be preserved. The 10-day festival begins on Aug 27. The Lalbaug-Parel belt and Khetwadi install large idols over 20ft; Mumbaicha Maharaja of Khetwadi 11th Lane rises up to 38ft, the tallest in Maharashtra. It is impossible to immerse whole in any artificial tank. Mandal president Hemant Dixit said, "I have seen authorities discussing a PoP ban since 2007. But I was confident our govt would not allow Maharashtra's most important festival to be jeopardised. How will you carve thousands of sarvajanik idols from clay? And how many artificial tanks will you build for immersion? I am happy that after declaring Ganeshotsav as the state festival, govt is defending our concerns before HC. " Swapnil Parab, secretary of Ganesh Gully mandal in Lalbaug, whose idol stands 22ft tall, said, "Since the ban on PoP, our preparation had slowed down. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dolly Parton, 79, Takes off Her Makeup and Leaves Us Without Words The Noodle Box Undo Now that the hurdles are being removed, we are excited to celebrate." Artisans were also anxious about immersion. Now we can move forward with preparations." Naresh Dahibawkar, president of Brihanmumbai Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Samanvay Samiti, whose suggestions helped govt determine its stance, said, "I am happy that our fears were heeded and a solution is near. Ganpati visarjan is also celebrated in a grand manner with tall idols being led to Girgaum Chowpatty and Dadar. The court's approval will pave the way for this tradition to continue." Moortikars are anxious for visarjan nod to be finalised since business hinges on it. "We are keenly awaiting the decision," said moortikar Viful Jadhav of Ganesh Arts, Goregaon. PoP moortikar Ravindra Vispute echoed his views. "Due to the initial ban, our workshop opened late and orders were few," he said.
