BLACKPINK has become a global phenomenon, captivating audiences with their powerful performances and unforgettable choreography. Behind many of their iconic moves stands Kiel Tutin, the creative force responsible for shaping some of the group's most memorable moments—from their groundbreaking Coachella debut to the high-energy 2023 Born Pink World Tour. At the 2025 American Music Awards, while BTS' RM won the K-pop artist category, Tutin praised BLACKPINK for their dedication and hard work. He described them as four individuals from different parts of the world who come together to create something truly magical, calling it a privilege to have worked with them over the years. "They're just four girls from all over the world, and when they come together, they create something truly magical. It's been an absolute privilege to work with them over the years." He added, "Each member brings her own unique energy and personality to the group. They're not just performers; they're storytellers through movement." Reflecting on BLACKPINK's stage presence, Tutin noted their electrifying energy, relentless work ethic, and the seamless blend of talent and charisma they bring to every performance. Blackpink fans call out agency over underwhelming tour reveal: ‘I hope you're hungry…for nothing!'
After a long hiatus, Blackpink is officially back on the road — or at least teasing it. On May 23, the K-pop superstars shared a 30-second promo video for their upcoming tour titled Deadline, marking their first official group activity since wrapping up the Born Pink World Tour in 2023. The teaser clip opens with a heavy metallic synth as 3D letters emerge from swirling pink glitter. With a sharp drumbeat, the glitter collapses into darkness, revealing just one word in bold: Deadline. The teaser sets the stage for a global comeback, with the tour kicking off on July 5 at Goyang Stadium in Goyang, South Korea. This marks a new chapter for BLACKPINK, whose members — Jennie, Rose, Jisoo and Lisa — have been focused on solo ventures for the past two years. However, the teaser wasn't as glowing as fans might've hoped. 'You all require a new creative director, as it seems you are merely recreating the Pink Venom teaser. This is quite disappointing,' one fan wrote on social media, comparing the teaser to past visuals. Another chimed in: 'So this the teaser for the teaser? Lmaoo.' One more joked, 'I hope you're hungry…for nothing.' Others noted similarities in the teaser's effects, with one commenting, 'The smokey effect in the last part is kinda the same thing in Born Pink teaser too.😭 They should make it more different.' Still, some fans tried to stay hopeful. 'They could've easily took the words 'world tour' out and added 'coming soon' to add infinite more hype. I will say though, the design team kind of nibbled.' Not everyone was as gentle: 'YG reheating bornpink nachos,' one user wrote, while another bluntly stated, 'I'd love to say this kind of bullshit from YG is shocking… but who are we kidding?' Even so, the buzz is real. Despite mixed responses to the video's production, anticipation for Blackpink's return remains sky-high. For BLINKs around the world, Deadline is more than just a tour — it's the long-awaited reunion of one of the biggest girl groups in the world.

It rarely seems like a day goes by without BLACKPINK facing some kind of backlash. However, this time the criticism is coming from their own fans. BLINKs are expressing anger and frustration not only at the four members—Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—but also at their agency, YG Entertainment. Ever since the tour was announced, it has been surrounded by controversy. Fans have been demanding a comeback announcement and questioning how prepared the group will be for the upcoming tour. Many are concerned that the members are still tied up with their solo schedules, raising doubts about the amount of time available for group rehearsals. Jennie Matches Blackpink — And Beats All Of Her Bandmates
Jennie is no stranger to the upper reaches of the Billboard charts. As a member of Blackpink, she's landed many hits, and helped redefine K-pop's presence on the international stage. Now, as a soloist, she's proving she can achieve just as much success without her bandmates – especially when looking at the global rankings. This week, the superstar collects another major worldwide win as fans rush to her first album, Ruby. As she does so, she not only matches her group's impressive record, but also beats her bandmates in one important manner. 'Like Jennie,' one of the latest singles from Jennie's debut solo album Ruby, opens at No. 5 on the Billboard Global 200. The track instantly becomes her fourth top 10 hit on the tally, which measures the most-consumed songs all around the world, based on both streaming performance and sales. With her fourth top 10 hit on the Billboard Global 200, Jennie now stands on equal footing with Blackpink. The group has also managed a quartet of appearances inside the highest tier of the ranking. Two of those smashes even reached No. 1. Back in 2022, Blackpink topped the list twice in short order, with 'Pink Venom' and 'Shut Down,' both singles from its sophomore album Born Pink. Prior to that successful run, 'Love Sick Girls' climbed to No. 2 in 2020, and that same year, 'Ice Cream' with Selena Gomez peaked at No. 8. Before 'Like Jennie' arrived, Jennie was in a tie with fellow Blackpink singer Lisa for the most top 10 hits among the band's soloists. Both musicians had collected three placements inside the competitive region. That changes this week, as Jennie now claims the lead. Meanwhile, fellow member Rosé has scored two top 10s on the Billboard Global 200, while Jisoo has managed just one so far. Jennie's journey as a solo star on this worldwide list began in October 2023, when she first cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200. She earned her first planet-spanning giant with 'You & Me,' which climbed to No. 7. Shortly after that win, she landed her second top 10 appearance alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp on 'One of the Girls,' which peaked at No. 10. Her biggest showing yet came just a few months ago. 'Mantra,' the lead single from Ruby, soared to No. 3.
