Strictly ‘wasn't safe for me', claims Wynne Evans
Wynne Evans, the Welsh opera singer, has claimed that Strictly Come Dancing was not a 'safe environment' for him.
The 53-year-old, also known for starring in advertisements for GoCompare, made the claim after being dropped as a presenter by BBC Radio Wales following his use of 'inappropriate' language during the launch of the television competition's live tour.
Evans apologised after The Mail on Sunday obtained a video it alleged showed him saying a lewd sexual term to Janette Manrara, a presenter and professional dancer, during a photocall in Birmingham in January.
He said afterwards: 'I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.'
The singer competed in the most recent series of Strictly alongside Katya Jones, a professional dancer on the popular programme.
However, speaking on ITV's This Morning on Wednesday, the singer said he would not take part in the show again if had the choice and claimed: 'I don't think it was a safe environment for me to do Strictly.'
He also alleged the BBC had not contacted him since he was suspended and that he was not made aware of any support available to him – a claim denied by the corporation.

Love Island's axed star 'won't leave alone' as savage double exit 'sealed'
Love Island 2025 viewers think that it won't just be one contestant leaving the ITV show on Friday out of Blu and Shea, with a double exit predicted amid a showdown There could be a brutal double exit on Love Island on Friday, as the results of Thursday night's twist are revealed. While as it stands only one Islander is set to be ditched from the villa out of Blu and Shea, fans are convinced a second Islander will leave at the same time. A recoupling in the latest episode saw the two men left single. Soon a text message confirmed the pair were now at risk of leaving the show for good. Not only that, but one of them had to leave immediately - and it was up to them to decide who. The Islanders reeled as they realised Blu and Shea had to agree between themselves which of them went home. The problem was that neither of them wanted to go home, making that clear. As one of their co-stars shouted out that they had to pick who left, Blu responded that he was going nowhere. Shea then made it known to Blu that he too was going nowhere, refusing to leave the show. With both men declining to leave and refusing to come to a decision, the episode ended on a cliffhanger. So if both men refuse to go, how will it be decided who does eventually leave? Fans of the series think the know what happens next, and it could well lead to a savage double exit. Fans are convinced Blu and Shea will fail to come to an agreement and will both refuse to leave the villa. With that, fans are sure it will lead to producers stepping in and axing both Islanders from the show. Convinced both of them will end up being dropped, one fan posted in X: "I think they'll both leave." Another fan said: "Calling it now - if they don't decide a random text will say they are both dumped leave the villa immediately." A third fan added: "Producers should just send both of them home we don't care." A fourth fan predicted: "Imagine if Blu and Shea refuse to pick who goes home so the producers just dump the both of them." This was echoed by another viewer who said: "I feel like producers need to tell them to decide who gets to stay or they both go cause this is gonna be a stand off." Earlier this week, viewers predicted which former Love Island star could be set to enter the famous second villa, Casa Amor later this series. After Sophie Lee was axed from the show on Tuesday night in a brutal dumping, after her partner Harry was stolen by Shakira, fans were quick to predict she might be back very soon. Taking to X, fans guessed the twist would happen with one fan writing: "I reckon Sophie will re-enter the villa as a bombshell by the end of next week at the latest or she will re-enter in Casa Amor." Another said: "Dw Sophie you'll be back in 4 weeks for Casa Amor." A third viewer begged: "Nah bring Sophie back for Casa Amor she deserves a chance." A fourth fan agreed: "Bring her back for casa amor!!" as a fifth viewer posted: "Gutted for her and bring back Sophie as a bombshell or Casa Amor."

Dua Lipa: I'm too busy to have children
Dua Lipa has said she is too busy to have children as she does not know how starting a family 'would fit in with my job'. Speaking in an interview with British Vogue, the London-born singer, 29, said she wondered if there would 'ever be a good time' to have a child with her fiancé Callum Turner, the Boys in the Boat actor. 'I'd love to have kids one day,' Lipa said. 'But it's like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time – how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I'd have to take. 'I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children.' During the interview, the Grammy award-winning singer confirmed her engagement to Turner, 35. She had provoked speculation after she was spotted on numerous occasions over the last year wearing a diamond ring. 'Yeah, we're engaged,' she said. 'It's very exciting.' Speaking of her ring, she added: 'I'm obsessed with it. It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' But the singer said she had not set a date for the big day. She said: 'I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. 'I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' She added: 'This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling.' The couple have been together since January 2024. In the interview, Lipa also said she felt 'the most confident [she's] ever felt' ahead of her 30th birthday later this year. She said: 'I turn 30 in August and I've been thinking about it a lot, because your 20s are just so tumultuous in the way you think about yourself and your body. 'And I don't know, now I feel like I've come to a place – I've become better at taking care of myself and working out and dancing. I feel the most confident I've ever felt. I feel very empowered and strong in my body. 'I feel good when I'm sharing my energy with people on stage. There's just so much of that that makes me really proud of my body and the way it holds me.'
