New UFC on ESPN 71 main event announced after Amir Albazi injured
With Amir Albazi out due to injury, his Aug. 2 headliner vs. Tatsuro Taira is off.
Taira (16-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) will remain on the card against Hyun Sung Park as he looks to bounce back from his first career defeat, a split decision loss to Brandon Royval in October.
Park (10-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) steps up into a massive opportunity to headline against one of the division's top fighters in just his fourth UFC fight. He won Road to UFC in 2023 with a knockout of Seung Guk Choi. He then finished Shannon Ross with strikes and Carlos Hernandez with a rear-naked choke.
It's unclear the specifics of the injury to Albazi (17-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC), who hasn't competed since a November 2024 loss to Brandon Moreno.

Chris Duncan vs. Mateusz Rebecki prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 71
Chris Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki meet Saturday in the co-main event of UFC on ESPN 71 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 2-3 UFC main cards, 2025: 72-56-1 Chris Duncan vs. Mateusz Rebecki UFC on ESPN 71 preview Duncan (13-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) enters his first UFC co-feature while on a two-fight winning streak. In back-to-back fights, Duncan finished Bolaji Oki and Jordan Vucenic with guillotine chokes in the first and second rounds, respectively. The Dana White's Contender Series veteran won his first pair of UFC fights before his second career setback last February against Manuel Torres. ... Like Duncan, Rebecki (20-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) enters his first co-main event in the UFC and shares an identical record in the promotion. Rebecki comes in after a split decision nod over Myktybek Orolbai at UFC 208 in October. Prior to that, he was finished by Diego Ferreira for his second career loss, which snapped a 16-fight winning streak. Chris Duncan vs. Mateusz Rebecki UFC on ESPN 71 expert pick, prediction The co-main event on ESPN features a lightweight action fight between Chris Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki. A Polish product who was more than UFC-ready prior to his Contender Series debut, Rebecki has proven to be all gas since setting foot in the octagon. A southpaw pressure fighter who can wrestle and grapple, Rebecki presents a formidable archetype that is difficult to deal with, especially early. Duncan, who has surprised many during his recent run, has shown undeniable improvements since moving shop to American Top Team in South Florida. Although Duncan is officially 0-0 against UFC-level lefties, he works with legendary southpaws that range from Dustin Poirier to Gleison Tibau. Although Duncan getting iced early on the feet or worked over on the floor is the most likely outcome on paper, I suspect that the Scottish fighter presents serious threats in closed quarters. Add in the size edge for the Scot and the fact that Rebecki has a propensity to fight recklessly and fade, and I find myself leaning toward the underdog in this spot. The pick is Duncan by club-and-sub in Round 2. Chris Duncan vs. Mateusz Rebecki UFC on ESPN 71 odds The oddsmakers and the public are favoring the Polish fighter, listing Rebecki -220 and Duncan +176 via FanDuel. Chris Duncan vs. Mateusz Rebecki UFC on ESPN 71 start time, how to watch As the co-main event, Duncan and Rebecki are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 11:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.

Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 71
Elves Brener and Esteban Ribovics meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ESPN 71 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 2-3 UFC main cards, 2025: 72-56-1 Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 preview Brener (16-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will look to right the ship after dropping back-to-back fights: a unanimous decision to Myktybek Orolbai and a third-round TKO loss to Joel Alvarez. Prior to his recent skid, Brener won five straight. That stretch included four finishes and his first three UFC victories. ... Ribovics (14-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) enters on the heels of a split decision loss to Nasrat Haqparast in March. After dropping his UFC debut, Ribovics won three straight UFC bouts, including a 37-second stoppage of Terrance McKinney. Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 expert pick, prediction Serving as a solid action fight at 155 pounds is a battle between Esteban Ribovics and Elves Brenner. Although this fight would be better served in front of a live crowd (as booking Ribovics in back-to-back UFC Apex fights after giving us 2024's Fight of the Year feels incredibly disrespectful), it should be wild while it lasts. Brenner is your classic Brazilian brawler who hails from the legendary Chute Boxe camp, while Ribovics brings the high-paced boxing and body work that both hardcore and casual fans pop for. I'll be curious if Brenner looks to utilize his underrated wrestling in the smaller octagon, but Ribovics appears to be a slippery and scrambly fighter to boot. Even though a better version of Brenner wouldn't shock me, I'll side with Ribovics' durability and pace to produce a finish in Round 3. Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 odds The oddsmakers and the public favor the Argentinian fighter, listing Ribovics (-265) and Brenner (+210) via FanDuel. Elves Brener vs. Esteban Ribovics UFC on ESPN 71 start time, how to watch Brener and Ribovics are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 10:40 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.

Karol Rosa vs. Nora Cornolle prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ESPN 71
Karol Rosa and Nora Cornolle meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ESPN 71 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 2-3 UFC main cards, 2025: 72-56-1 Karol Rosa vs. Nora Cornolle UFC on ESPN 71 preview Rosa (18-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has traded wins and losses over her last eight fights, stretching back to 2021, and enters this fight after a unanimous decision loss to Ailin Perez in January. Her last win was a decision win over Panni Kianzad last August. Rosa has never lost back-to-back fights in her career. ... Cornolle (9-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) will aim to keep momentum going from a second-round submission finish of of Hailey Cowan at UFC 314 in April. Prior to that, she suffered her first loss in the UFC, a split decision to Jacqueline Cavalcanti. That result marked the first loss since her pro debut, ending an eight-fight winning streak. Eight of Cornolle's nine career wins have come by stoppage. Karol Rosa vs. Nora Cornolle UFC on ESPN 71 expert pick, prediction Filling out the main card is a women's bantamweight fight between Karol Rosa and Nora Cornolle. Although expectations may not have been very high, Cornolle has arguably overperformed thus far in her UFC tenure, earning some surprising finishes along the way. Nevertheless, Cornolle will be taking an undeniable step up in this contest. Rosa has been a staple of this division for some time, but has failed to deliver on any real 'breakthrough' performances. That said, Rosa is undeniably skilled in almost all areas and deserves her distinction as the betting favorite in this fight. Cornolle will likely have some moments on the feet and in the clinch, but it won't be enough to discount the consistent work rate of Rosa. The pick is Rosa by unanimous decision. Karol Rosa vs. Nora Cornolle UFC on ESPN 71 odds The oddsmakers and the public favor the Brazilian fighter, listing Rosa (-210) and Cornolle (+168) via FanDuel. Karol Rosa vs. Nora Cornolle UFC on ESPN 71 start time, how to watch Rosa and Cornolle are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 10:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.
