"Harry Potter" Stars Emma Watson and Zoë Wanamaker Hit with 6-Month Driving Ban

Yara Sameh
Emma Watson has been banned from driving in the UK for six months.
The actress, best known for her work in "Harry Potter" and "Beauty and the Beast", drove an Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford during an outing in July 2024.
Watson has been banned from driving after accumulating more than nine penalty points on her driving license. High Wycombe Magistrates' Court also ordered her to pay a fine of £1,044 ($1,405).
According to the BBC, Watson's attorney, Mark Haslam, told High Wycombe Magistrates' Court that his client was 'in a position to pay the fine.'
The 35-year-old actress did not attend the short hearing. She is currently studying as a student at the University of Oxford, taking a break from her acting career. Her rep has been contacted.
In a strange twist, Watson's "Harry Potter" co-star Zoë Wanamaker was also banned from driving by the same court that day.
The actress, who played Madam Hooch, was caught driving at 46mph in a 40mph zone last August. She was also fined £1,044 and will be prevented from driving for six months.

New "Wonder Woman" Movie Finds It "Supergirl" Writer Ana Nogueira

Yara Sameh 'Supergirl' screenwriter Ana Nogueira has been tapped to write DC Studios' new redo of "Wonder Woman". Nogueira is also writing a live-action 'Teen Titans' for the studio. "Wonder Woman" has become a major priority for the studio. On July 16, DC was reported to be fast-tracking the feature project, and DC Studios co-chief James Gunn told Entertainment Weekly in June that a 'Wonder Woman' movie 'is being written right now.' The studio is also developing 'Paradise Island,' a TV series for HBO set on Wonder Woman's home of Themyscira, though Gunn has said progress on that project is 'slow moving.' Nogueira started her career as an actor, including on 'The Michael J. Fox Show,' 'The Vampire Diaries' and most recently the crime series 'Hightown.' 'Supergirl,' directed by Craig Gillespie ('Cruella') and starring Milly Alcock ('House of the Dragon'), will be her first produced screenplay. It is adapted from the graphic novel 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow' by Tom King. The film is scheduled to open on June 26, 2026. The Princess of Themyscira was first played on the big screen by Gal Gadot in 2017's 'Wonder Woman' directed by Patty Jenkins. The film grossed $822 million worldwide, shattering the industry's false presumption that audiences weren't interested in female-led superhero movies. Gadot and Jenkins teamed up again for 'Wonder Woman 1984,' which opened on Christmas in 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. She also played the character in 2017's 'Justice League,' 2021's 'Zack Snyder's Justice League' and 2023's 'The Flash.' When Gunn and Peter Safran took the reins of DC Studios, however, they effectively rebooted the DC Universe, starting with the streaming series 'Creature Commandos' and Gunn's feature film 'Superman,' which has grossed $406.8 million globally since it opened on July 11. Alcock appeared in a brief cameo at the end of the film, when she picked up her dog Krypto, who'd been staying with the Man of Steel while she was away. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

Taylor Swift's Life and Legacy Will Be Explored in New Docuseries "Taylor"

Yara Sameh The U.K.'s Channel 4 will shed light on two decades of success in a new, two-part documentary series, tentatively titled "Taylor". Directed by Guy King, the docuseries will explore Taylor Swift's evolution during her explosive rise to the top of pop stardom, utilizing additions from a 'rare archive' and commentary from experts and fans. 'Taylor Swift is an unprecedentedly powerful 21st-century voice for women and young people,' King shared in a statement. 'Under the microscope of social media since the earliest days of MySpace and Tumblr, she came of age during a new feminist wave. With her fame came controversy, which she so skillfully wrestled to the floor. We're excited to tell her story.' "Taylor" will be produced by Sandpaper Films, which previously helmed the feature documentaries "Doom Scroll: Andrew Tate and the Dark Side of the Internet," "A Deadly American Marriage," "Investigating Diana," and more. Jessica Brady will lead production with Lina Caicedo as archive producer. Sandpaper Films' Susannah Price and Henry Singer will serve as executive producers. Martin Thompson will edit the two-part release. Rumors about the documentary series first surfaced in April 2025, weeks before Swift gained ownership of her music catalog after successfully purchasing the master recordings of her first six studio albums from Shamrock Holdings. The musician's rapidly evolving narrative makes it difficult to capture the full expanse of her career. Five years have passed since Swift released her documentary, "Miss Americana," and everything has changed in that time. Since 2020, Swift has released four original studio albums and four re-recordings of previously released albums. She also embarked on "The Eras Tour," which ultimately became the highest-grossing tour in history. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks
