BBC Breakfast host Charlie Stayt has revealed what Sir David Jason is really like - as he brought up his 'outrageous' behaviour backstage live on the morning news programme.
The Only Fools And Horses legend joined Charlie and Naga Munchetty in the studio to look back on his illustrious acting career.
And within moments of sitting down for his interview, an emphatic Charlie mentioned the 85-year-old's backstage conduct.
'Very pleased to say Sir David Jason is right here with us on the sofa with us this morning,' Charlie began.
He then added: 'Can I just describe for our viewers who are watching this morning - you make an entrance.
'I was quite impressed. As you came into our studio a moment ago, you were saying hello to everyone - you know how to make an entrance.'
Taken aback, the Open All Hours star laughed, saying: 'Well it's just that I like to feel comfortable but I like also to, if you can, make the people you're with comfortable.
'The great thing is really to be a little bit outrageous, so everybody is put at ease, it's a bit of fun.
'You know, I said good morning to the camera, and nobody but the camera was there. The camera seemed to like it.'
The British star went on to discuss the move from his theatre roots to studio filming, and iconic Only Fools And Horses scenes from over the years.
And after the cameras finished rolling, host Naga was pictured making a stony-faced exit as she left the studio.
Dressed in a striking orange dress and moody sunglasses, she appeared impassive as she climbed into a taxi.
It comes as a fan recently revealed online what David, 85, was really like in person, keen Only Fools viewers jumped at the chance to find out.
Only Fools And Horses, the BBC sitcom about two south-east London market trader brothers, won its away into the nation's hearts as soon as it hit our screens in 1981.
Created by the inimitable late John Sullivan, it starred Sir David Jason as Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter and Nicholas Lyndhurst as his little brother Rodney.
And the pair were joined in Peckham by a host of beloved supporting characters, including Grandad (Lennard Pearce) and Uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield).
The fan posted on discussion site Reddit: 'My mate's dad was good friends with David and used to run a B&B in Weston-super-Mare.
'Over the years, 'Uncle David' would pop by now and then and my mate would also see him at family gatherings and events.'
David has had an illustrious career outside Only Fools too.
He has starred variously in detective series A Touch Of Frost, grocery shop sitcom Open All Hours and fifties-set family life comedy The Darling Buds of May.
But it is ambitious Cockney Del Boy, known for his catchphrase, 'This time next year, we'll be millionaires!', who seemed to capture the user's family the most.
They continued: 'As you can imagine, whenever he showed up, people couldn't resist asking him to 'do a bit of Del Boy'.
'He always politely declined, until one unforgettable occasion. After a bit of friendly badgering, David finally gave in.
'My mate said he took a deep breath and in that moment, everything about him changed - his posture, his expression, even the way he stood.
'It was like Del Boy had walked into the room. For the next 20 minutes, Del Boy was the life of the party, giving everyone a performance they'd never forget.'
Breakfast airs daily on BBC One from 6am and is available to stream on iPlayer

James Norton cuts a stylish figure in a grey textured suit as he joins chic Emily Beecham at the global premiere of their new period drama King & Conqueror in London

James Norton cut a dapper figure as he joined his elegant co-star Emily Beecham at the global premiere of their new drama series King & Conqueror in London on Thursday. The actor, 40, turned heads in a grey textured suit worn over a matching shirt, completing the look with smart black shoes and a black belt. Meanwhile Emily, 41, opted for a mint-green shirt paired with a black A-line midi skirt. She elevated the ensemble with green suede heels and sheer black socks. The duo were joined on the red carpet by their co-stars and production crew including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Geoff Bell, and Kitty Kaletsky. The cast appeared in high spirits as they posed for cameras before heading inside for the star-studded event. The actor, 40, turned heads in a grey textured suit worn over a matching shirt, completing the look with smart black shoes and a black belt Earlier in the day, the cast gathered at the Corinthia in the city for a photocall ahead of the main event. The upcoming eight-part series is set to hit screens on August 24, and tells the story of the Battle of Hastings, one of the most famous in English history. On October 14, 1066, William, Duke of Normandy, defeated England's Saxon army, killed King Harold II and seized the throne - becoming William the Conqueror. Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two allies who were forced to turn on each other after they found out that King Edward the Confessor had promised both of them the crown. In King & Conqueror, James plays Harold of Wessex and Nikolaj portrays William the Conqueror. The trailer shows snippets of gripping drama, and offers a glimpse of the deft exploration of the two men. Emily plays Edith Swanneck who was one of the wealthiest magnates in England before the battle, and may have been Harold's first wife. William the Conqueror's wife, Matilda of Flanders, is played by Clemence Poesy. He also had a snap with Geoff Bell, who looked dapper at the event Indy Lewis stunned in a green satin dress at the premiere Luther Ford was also in attendance at his premiere Other stars in the series include Eddie Marsan as King Edward, Juliet Stevenson as Lady Emma, Jean-Marc Barr as King Henry and Luther Ford as Tostig. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is known for his role as Jamie Lannister, Knight of the Kingsguard, in the hit TV series Game Of Thrones. He also starred in the 2013 horror Mama, The Other Woman, Shot Caller and Nightwatch. Meanwhile James Norton played the notorious criminal Tommy Lee Royce in British crime drama Happy Valley. Other TV shows and films he has starred in include Grantchester, War & Peace and McMafia. It was previously revealed that the makers of the programme shunned England and shot all of its King & Conqueror scenes in Iceland. They used the unlikely locations of a campsite and nature reserve in Iceland, with Film In Iceland, the country's film commission, offering the production generous financial incentives. Productions that shoot in the country can claim a rebate of up to 35 per cent of total costs. Historians accept that the battle could not be filmed there because it was wooded then, but now comprises fields and hedgerows. However, they say that it could have been filmed in an area such as the New Forest. Instead, producers – who include Norton – chose Hjallaflatir, a campsite in the Icelandic nature reserve of Heiomork. The campsite's rocky appearance could hardly look more different to the terrain of the historic battlefield, both now and in the 11th century. From a series spokesperson: 'King & Conqueror is set across multiple European territories – including Normandy, France, Flanders and Norway, alongside England. Iceland was chosen for a multitude of reasons including its variety of landscapes that can represent these different parts of Europe from 1,000 years ago.'

Survive hot days with mum's ‘best sun cream hack EVER' that promises no tears thanks to an unexpected kitchen essential

A SAVVY mum has shared a 'genius' trick to guarantee there are no tears when applying sun cream. Not only does it make the process much more fun for youngsters, but if your little one hates having sun cream applied, then you'll need to check this out. 2 2 With this simple tip, which has been hailed the 'best sun cream hack ever,' you'll need an unexpected kitchen essential. Posting on social media, Gemma McCartan, a mum-of-two and full-time content creator from the UK, gave her followers a close-up look at her trick, which involves using spoons when applying spray sun cream. Alongside her short video, the influencer beamed: 'The best sun cream hack for kids EVER.' She then said: 'To the mum who posted this, I love you.' Instead of wrestling her son Max to close his eyes so she could apply the spray sun cream to his face, the youngster instead put two spoons over his eyes. Gemma was then able to spray his face with sun cream, without it getting in his eyes and causing any tears. Moments after, the woman's daughter then did the same, yet again ensuring a seamless application with no irritation of the eyes, whilst at the same time, making the often agonising process much more exciting. Thrilled with her hack, Gemma later wrote: 'It's been a game changer.' Clearly beaming with the simple trick, the mother added: 'It's made my day, I had the kids crying on holiday until we found this hack.' Gemma's TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ gemmamccartan, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 200,800 views. Kelsey Parker mum-shamed for admitting she doesn't put suncream on her kids Not only this, but it's also amassed 2,074 likes and 138 comments. Parents were impressed with the 'genius' trick and many thought it was a 'great' idea. One person said: 'What a brilliant idea.' Another added: 'That is genius.' Whilst a third commented: 'Not only practical, it gives the kids a feeling of control over what's about to happen, so they are more willing to cooperate. Great idea.' Meanwhile, someone else gushed: 'Best idea ever for sun cream.' The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez - known as Dr Dray - revealed why you should wear suncream. The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference - and this matters for all ages - is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed. "The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation," she continued, not because you're "not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday". "If you're not doing in your 20s, get on that now." But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn't go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun. Doing this over your lifetime - and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days - "will reduce the visible signs of photoageing", Andrea said. Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin. However, at the same time, one user wrote: 'Should have cream on eyelids too as they can burn, I know it stings if it gets in eyes but it's such a sensitive area so best to have full coverage.' To this, Gemma wrote back and explained: 'Yes but my son has allergies so this is amazing.' Not only this, but another person asked: 'Won't they get a burnt line where the handles are?' In response, Gemma confirmed that instead of spraying the sun cream on her youngster's eyelids, after the fun part, she then uses her finger for a more controlled application, as she acknowledged: "I use my finger to do the sides and lids.'

The ‘funniest' one-liner from Edinburgh Fringe

A comedian has said his father was blissfully unaware of a one-liner at his expense that has now been crowned the funniest of the Edinburgh Fringe. Andy Gleeks, from Antrim, Northern Ireland, has won the (some guy called) Dave Joke of the Fringe 2025, for which 10 were shortlisted. He won with the joke: 'I had to visit the trauma unit last weekend. He prefers the term dad.' The comedian, who takes home the title, a trophy and a £250 cash prize, said: 'The first thing I've had to do today is message my father to tell him about the joke I wrote about him. 'He never knew I wrote it and was telling it to thousands of strangers up and down the country.' The competition invited comedians performing at the Fringe to submit their best jokes. A longlist was then selected by a panel of comics including Gary Delaney, of Mock the Week fame, and former winners Mark Simmons and Darren Walsh. The shortlist was then taken to Edinburgh's Cowgate, where Will Mars, the competition's founder, wandered the streets looking for 'some guy called Dave' and found Fringe-goer Dave Humphrys. Mr Humphrys judged the shortlist with his family over a pre-show drink and said of his choice: 'I absolutely love dad jokes, puns, and one-liners and this list has really given us a good giggle.' The (some guy called) Dave competition was relaunched this year by Mr Mars after UKTV's Dave announced they would put their long-running Joke of the Fringe competition on hold this year. Mr Mars had previously run the alternative competition in 2021, during the partial post-pandemic Fringe, when UKTV also pulled out. He said: 'I had to bring the (some guy called) Dave competition back. It's important to comedians, it gives their work a little more recognition and placing on the list gives performers a lift just when they need it, when the fringe starts to get tiring and tough. 'It's little lifts like these that help us all get through the fringe experience and I wanted to help continue lifting those comics up when they need it most. It's also a great chance to get some more jokes to tell you pals in the pub or at work.' The last winner of the (some guy called) Dave competition in 2021 was Masai Graham with the joke: 'I thought the word 'Caesarean' began with the letter 'S' but when I looked in the dictionary, it was in the 'C' section.' Gleeks has been performing his show Fragments daily at 12.30pm in the Boston Bar.
