Aries
You're a bit prone to getting upset at the week's outset. Try to welcome the new, which will be much easier starting sometime Tuesday afternoon. Through the middle of the week, your fiery, independent side makes life (and love) very exciting. Singletons are in an explore-and-conquer mode, while those in relationships bring some spice into the equation. On Thursday or Friday, you're preoccupied by work or your reputation, but keep those priorities in order. A happy heart comes first. This weekend, your amorous agenda is moving right along, and that's pleasing indeed.
Taurus
You're extra passionate and extra sensitive at the beginning of the week, a potentially explosive combo that ensures you won't be bored! Get that intensity out with a long run, a primal scream, or a good cry. From Tuesday through Thursday, love's more of an abstract, philosophical question. Use the distance to solidify some ideals. Toward the end of the week, romantic plans go smoothly, and a certain someone's bringing a fresh perspective to the table that's rather enlightening. This weekend, you could be inspired to take a walk on the wild side.
Gemini
Doing a little research about a certain someone at the week's outset pays off big time, so ask around, type their name into a search engine, and generally gather intelligence. Things can definitely be taken to another level between Tuesday and Thursday. Why stay on the surface when there's interesting treasure to be unearthed? Ask a deep question to get started. Any kind of business involving others, including business of the romantic kind, could get held up at the end of the week. Don't expect big progress now. But with your changeable heart, anything could happen this weekend.
Cancer
Remain noncommittal at the beginning of the week. There's plenty of time to make dates and decisions, so don't let them rush you. Around Wednesday, socializing is problematic. You might prefer some one-on-one time with a certain someone or just to be alone. Be proactive and push things in the direction you want them to go. Your awareness of the emotional state of others and ability to balance various demands makes all the difference from Thursday through Saturday. Love can go really well now. Do something that engages your brain with someone who engages your interest on Sunday.
Leo
Delve into matters of the heart on Monday. There's more here than meets the eye, and you might uncover some sweet stuff. From Tuesday through Thursday, romance is turned up to 11, and it's playing your favorite song. Who'll be your partner at this personal dance party? Lucky them. Around Friday, watch how you're coming across. Modesty and listening are more alluring than bragging and blather (surprise, surprise). Those in relationships should be patient with their partner this weekend, while singletons may meet someone as strong-minded as they are, and that could be hot. Prepare yourself to take on each month with your personalized Monthly Horoscope!
Virgo
That romantic goal you've got in mind at the week's outset could be a teeny bit unrealistic. Rome wasn't built in a day, nor does love happen overnight. Scale back the expectations. You'll want control around Wednesday, but going with the flow could be surprisingly fun, and it may lead to some surprising places. Dare to let go. Love's extra sweet and full of pleasant possibilities from Thursday through Saturday. Indulge in a heaping helping. And if a certain someone messes up your Sunday routine, you might not even mind.
Libra
You want it all when it comes to romance at the beginning of the week, and who could blame you? The intensity might throw you for a bit of a loop, but from Tuesday through Thursday, some balance is restored. You're using your heart and mind in tandem to very nice effect. A proposal you make now is well received. Watch for a past romantic issue to resurrect around Friday, allowing you a chance to revise your original response. The weekend brings a couple of very good days for your mental energy, socializing, and matters of the heart.
Scorpio
Love and respect go hand in hand at the week's outset, with you getting your fair share of both. The confidence you're feeling is magical. Around Wednesday, you'll want to pull back and look at the larger picture, particularly before going out on any romantic limbs. Being shrewd on occasion in the love department never hurts. From Thursday through Saturday, there may not be fireworks, but you're very companionable, and you're communicating clearly and with affection. A possible conflict on Sunday holds a new idea in its hands.
Sagittarius
Some ups and downs characterize the very start of the week, but it's only natural given the shifting nature of romance. Starting on Tuesday, the shifting takes a more positive direction, with an unexpected delight in store if you're willing to explore. Your sense of humor is totally on fire now, and the right person's laughing. Around Friday, a direct approach is definitely best in the love department. gather your thoughts and get them out there. Singletons have no problem meeting (and impressing) people this weekend, while the coupled up have a fruitful exchange of ideas.
Capricorn
Friends are your best resource when it comes to making a romantic decision at the week's outset. They'll help with a little detachment and a lot of support. A situation's in flux midweek, and you'll need to adjust your ideas accordingly. At the same time, don't rush into anything. By Thursday, it all begins to clarify, with good results for your heart. Friday's a perfect date night, with whatever you plan turning out even better than expected. On the other hand, things could fall through this weekend, but if you're up for last-minute changes, it's more than salvageable.
Aquarius
Get yourself into a social setting at the beginning of the week. Nesting may sound good, but the energy you'll get from being around friends (even via video) is even better. You're in an expansive mood from Tuesday through Thursday, telling your best stories and picking up new ideas. Someone's impressed by your generous spirit. Keep yourself in check around Friday. You'll only figure out what's going on by close observation, not interfering. You couldn't really ask for more from the stars when it comes to romance this weekend. How will you use the gorgeous power?
Pisces
Be wise about a romantic issue at the beginning of the week. Eyes wide open is the way to proceed now, even while you're going through some emotions. Around Wednesday, the stars send some extra awareness your way, as well as some stellar instincts about how to proceed and a little luck. On Thursday and Friday, good energy comes easily and perhaps from some unexpected quarters. Helping someone else out in the love department keeps the cycle going. Your head may be swimming this weekend, but your heart's in the right place. Give yourself a break. Find your cosmic purpose. Receive personalized astrological guidance with Astrology+.

FCC OKs $8B Paramount—Skydance Deal, Says It Ensures ‘Diversity of Viewpoints' at CBS

The Federal Communications Commission has approved the $8 billion merger of Paramount Global (PARA) and Skydance Media, claiming 'significant changes,' are coming to the CBS owner. 'Americans no longer trust the legacy national news media to report fully, accurately, and fairly. It is time for a change,' FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said. "That is why I welcome Skydance's commitment to make significant changes at the once storied CBS broadcast network.' Carr said Skydance has committed to ensuring New Paramount programming "embodies a diversity of viewpoints from across the political and ideological spectrum.' That commitment includes working with an ombudsman whose job it is to evaluate complaints of media bias. Paramount's politics have been in focus after the company in May agreed to pay President Donald Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit over a CBS interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump's lawsuit alleged that CBS News had 'deceitfully edited a '60 Minutes' interview with the Democratic presidential candidate to make her sound better,' according to reports. Paramount recently announced the cancellation of 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,' which has included jokes criticizing Trump as a fixture of its material. Paramount called the move 'a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night.' Skydance Founder and Son of Oracle's Larry Ellison Will Lead New Paramount Paramount and Skydance agreed to merge in June after months of negotiations. As part of the deal, Skydance and its private equity backer will pay $2.4 billion to buy National Amusements, the holding company owned by Shari Redstone that controls about 77% of Paramount's voting share. The companies will pay $4.5 billion to Paramount shareholders and another $1.5 billion will go toward Paramount's balance sheet. David Ellison, founder of Skydance and son of Oracle (ORCL) co-founder Larry Ellison, will take over as CEO of New Paramount after the media conglomerate's previous chief executive, Bob Bakish, left earlier this year, with a three-person "office of the CEO" taking his place. Shares of Paramount rose slightly in early trading Friday. The stock is up more than 25% for 2025. Read the original article on Investopedia

Cardi B sued by fan for assault, battery after viral 2023 microphone-throwing incident

Two years after Cardi B was accused of assaulting a fan with a microphone during a live performance, the rapper is reportedly facing legal repercussions for the viral incident. The concertgoer, a woman from Cleveland, Ohio, filed a lawsuit alleging assault, battery and negligence against the Grammy-winning rapper on Monday, July 21, according to Rolling Stone and Billboard. The woman's attorney, Cierra N. Norris, confirmed the litigation in a July 24 press conference. "It is quite the feat to take on someone that is known and loved like Cardi B," Norris told news cameras. "Thank God we are not in a court of public opinion, but we are in a court of law." In an Instagram post, also confirming her client's complaint, Norris wrote: "No one should be afraid to hold someone accountable just because they are famous," adding that the woman is going by the pseudonym Jane Doe because she is "suffering from mental health issues as a result of the incident" and wants to avoid "potential backlash." Drai's Management Group, LLC, the owner of the Las Vegas venue where Cardi's performance took place, is also being sued for its alleged failure "to intervene or de-escalate the incident," Billboard reported. USA TODAY has reached out to Norris and representatives for Cardi B and Drai's Management Group for comment. In July 2023, Cardi B made social media headlines after footage from her performance at Drai's Beachclub showed her throwing her microphone at an attendee. In the video, which racked up over 100 million views to date, Cardi retaliated when a concertgoer standing at the edge of the stage tossed the contents of a large white cup, splashing her face and soaking her orange swimsuit cover-up as she performed her breakthrough hit "Bodak Yellow." Norris, however, offered a different version of events, saying during the press conference that Cardi had asked fans to slosh their drinks, and that simply because she had reached her limit does not excuse the "assault" and "battery" the fan endured. Cardi B fan reports battery after rapper threw microphone at her in Vegas In videos, the rapper is seen subsequently berating the individual as security retrieved her microphone and appeared to remove the fan. Cardi later reposted another video of the incident shared by a fan account. After the jarring encounter, the unidentified fan filed a police report for battery. No arrests or citations were issued, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Norris, noting that the lawsuit is being filed years after the incident, said a friend of the fan had contacted her while she was still in Las Vegas, and that she had been the woman's lawyer since then. They wanted to due the litigation right, rather than capitalize on a "15 minutes" of fame, Norris argued. Cardi B's attorney criticizes Jane Doe lawsuit as 'financial shakedown' Doe claims Cardi B encouraged "light splashing from drinks" during her performance at Drai's Beachclub, according to Rolling Stone and Billboard. Additional social media footage shared at the time of Cardi's performance showed the rapper seemingly welcoming getting splashed by fans. "Give me water," Cardi said in one clip, after which fans splashed her backside. It's unclear whether the footage was taken before or after the face-splashing incident. The woman, "acting in accordance with the environment created by Cardi B's express words and conduct, and in a manner consistent with other attendees, splashed a small portion of her drink in Cardi B's direction," the lawsuit stated, per Rolling Stone and Billboard. "In apparent anger and without warning, Cardi B suddenly and forcefully threw her microphone directly at (Doe)." Cardi B's microphone from viral video placed in auction for $100K The aggrieved concertgoer said the incident caused her "severe emotional distress, shock, humiliation and physical injury," Rolling Stone reported. Additionally, Doe said the sale of Cardi B's microphone in an auction for nearly $100K "further publicized the incident and exacerbated (her) emotional distress." "Fame is not a license to harm," Norris said. "Just because Cardi B is one of the most loved entertainers in the world does not mean that she is free from accountability." In a statement to Billboard addressing the lawsuit, Cardi B's attorney Drew Findling slammed the woman's complaint as a "transparent and pitiful attempted financial shakedown." "The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County District Attorney's Office closed this matter for insufficient evidence a long time ago," Findling told the news outlet. "But apparently the opportunity to try to make money off of a celebrity was too much for some willing law firm to pass up."
