John Krasinski reveals if he will reprise Jim Halpert role in the ‘Office' spinoff series

New York Post21-05-2025

He's getting the stapler and Jello-O ready.
'The Office' star John Krasinski 'would be down' to do a cameo on the show's spinoff series, 'The Paper.'
'Done! If they ask me, I'm in,' Krasinski, 43, said when asked about the comedy during a recent interview with EXTRA.

'I'm excited to see what they do with it. It's such an amazing idea, and listen, if Greg [Daniels] is behind it, we're all in. And you can't get a better actor than [Domhnall Gleeson] to take on the mantle,' Krasinski went on. 'He's so, so great. He's going to be so perfect for it, and we'll probably start doing watch parties again just to watch them.'
'The Office,' which ran for 9 seasons from 2005 to 2013 on NBC, was a mockumentary of a group of office workers at a paper company going through their mundane days, consisting of ego clashes, inappropriate behavior, and romance.
Krasinski, who played Jim Halpert, co-starred alongside Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, B.J. Novak, Kate Flannery, Phyllis Smith, Brian Baumgartner, Leslie David Baker and more.
In the book 'Welcome to Dunder Mifflin: The Ultimate Oral History of The Office,' authors Daniels, Baumgarter and Ben Silverman give readers and longtime fans the inside story behind the hit show.

One of the most notable parts of the book revealed that there was going to be a rift between lovebirds Jim Halpert (Krasinski) and Pam Beesly (Fischer).
Originally, Jim was going to make out with Pam's replacement, Cathy Simms (played by Lindsay Broad), in Season 8 of the show.
However, there was pushback on that — especially from Krasinski — saying that it would have altered the show's legacy.

'That's the only time I remember putting my foot down … I remember saying things that I never thought I'd say before, like, 'I'm not going to shoot it,'' Krasinski said. 'My feeling is there is a threshold with which you can push our audience. They are so dedicated. We have shown such great respect to them. But there's a moment where if you push them too far, they'll never come back. And I think that if you show Jim cheating, they'll never come back.'
Just last year, Krasinski said that he wasn't going to be in 'The Papers.'
'As of now, I haven't been asked,' Krasinski said to Entertainment Tonight in 2024. 'But the truth is, I'd do anything for Greg Daniels. It sounds like they have a really fun idea.'

Carell, meanwhile, doesn't plan to reprise his Michael Scott role.
'It's just a new thing, and there's really no reason for my character to show up in something like that,' Carell told The Hollywood Reporter in May 2024, saying that he is 'excited' for the show and it 'sounds like a great concept.'
The spinoff series will follow Gleeson, alongside co-star Sabrina Impacciatore, 56 ('The White Lotus'), as new characters navigate their lives in the Midwest. He previously worked with Krasinski in this year's 'Fountain of Youth.'
7 Since 'The Office' ended, Krasinski has been in several shows and movies, including 'A Quiet Place,' A Quiet Place Part II,' and the 'Jack Ryan' series on Amazon Prime.

'The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters,' a Peacock synopsis reads.
Since 'The Office' ended, Krasinski has been in several shows and movies, including 'A Quiet Place,' A Quiet Place Part II,' and the 'Jack Ryan' series on Amazon Prime.
Most recently, he stars alongside Natalie Portman in the new mystery-thriller movie 'Fountain of Youth,' which follows two estranged siblings on a global heist to find the mythical Fountain of Youth. The film is set to be released on May 23 on Apple TV+.
'The Paper' will debut on Peacock in September 2025.

Denny Hamlin is back to being the villain, provoking Michigan crowd after win

BROOKLYN, Mich. — Denny Hamlin the antagonist is back. He brought his famous line out of retirement to goad the crowd after winning Sunday's Cup race at Michigan International Speedway and delivered an Ohio State cheer to incite fans of the University of Michigan in the stands. 'I do thrive on it,' Hamlin said of being viewed as the villain, 'just simply because you feel like you've got 60,000 people that are rooting against you. When you have that, it just feels really, really good and gratifying to prove them wrong.' A week before Father's Day, Hamlin eschewed his dad's wishes and told the crowd after winning for the third time this season and the 57th time in his Cup career: 'Daddy, I'm sorry, but I beat your favorite driver folks.' Many in the crowd booed. Nate Ryan, It was a repeat of the line he first uttered after winning the Bristol night race in September 2023. He said the line again after winning the Clash at the Coliseum in February 2024 and then stopped doing it. Hamlin said on his podcast 'Actions Detrimental' afterward that his father sent him a text to stop saying the line. His father said he didn't like it and thought it was too cocky. Hamlin said on his podcast that 'I'm going to listen to dad on this one.' Oops. 'I thought about saying it a few other times,' Hamlin said Sunday night. ' … In this one, son knows best.' Just to add another layer of antagonism, Hamlin did part of the O-H-I-O cheer for Michigan rival Ohio State in front of the crowd, earning further furor from some. Hamlin attended the college football national championship game in January that Ohio State won over Notre Dame. While he had no previous allegiance, his friends were Ohio State fans and he supported the Buckeyes. Buckeyes fans, look here. 😂 Wolverines fans, look away. 🫣 Hamlin thrives on chaos. His fiancee is due to deliver the couple's third child any day, an appellant panel ruled against his team and Front Row Motorsports this past week and both face the prospect of losing their charters and being open teams as soon as the end of the month. So, of course Hamlin won Sunday. And of course he stirred it up with the crowd unlike in his wins earlier this year at Darlington and Martinsville. Dustin Long, While he often is greeted with some of the largest chorus of boos during driver introductions, his actions Sunday are likely to amp that up. He's fine with that. 'Until the crowd shifts to mostly cheers over boos, I'm always going to antagonize the booers,' Hamlin said. 'Like, until you really get the switch, which I don't think I'm ever going to in my career, what else is there? '... I got to find ways to have fun doing this. It's such a grind and it's so hard to win. I found myself winning races a few years ago and I just moved on to Monday and it was on to the next track. I never really got to spend it celebrating. I took it for granted I'm just going to win next week, I'm going to win the week after that. I just thought another one was going to always come. 'You have another birthday (turning 45 last November). You keep wondering like how long are you going to be able to keep doing this at this level? Listen, 57 (Cup wins) might be it. None of us in this room know. I'm at least going to enjoy it as if it's my last, then I'll go to work on Monday, just like I always have. 'I don't want to be so ho-hum with winning that it's boring because then I lose my drive.' Or the boos.

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Brit Eady sues Bravo over explicit photo

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Brit Eady sues Bravo over explicit photo Show Caption Hide Caption Phaedra Parks returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta Phaedra Parks is returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta after being gone for 6 seasons. Fox - 5 Atlanta Brit Eady is taking Bravo to court over the explicit photo incident that prompted Kenya Moore's exit from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Eady has filed a $20 million lawsuit against Bravo, NBC and the production companies Truly Original and Endemol Shine North America, accusing the defendants of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false light, sexual harassment and hostile work environment. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Bravo, NBCUniversal and Eady for comment. The lawsuit centers around an incident featured in an April episode of the reality show in which Moore revealed explicit photos, supposedly of Eady, on poster boards. The moment resulted in Moore being removed from the show, and the episode ended with a disclaimer that "based on Kenya's behavior, the decision was made to cease filming with her this season." 'Real Housewives of Atlanta': Reality show airs Kenya Moore's explicit photo incident that led to exit Eady says that the photos were not of her but that the episode falsely suggested they were. "The manner in which the episode was aired falsely yet unmistakably implied that the graphic sexual photograph presented by the cast member depicted (Eady)," the lawsuit said. "On information and belief, defendants knew that the photograph did not depict (Eady), or, at the least, were reckless or grossly negligent in failing to learn that the photograph did not depict (Eady). The lawsuit also alleged that the network refused to show Eady the photo before the episode aired. She accused the defendants of contributing to a "hostile work environment" and subjecting her to "unwelcome, offensive, and sexualized behavior and comments based on her gender by requiring her to continue working in an environment in which she had been subject to a gendered attack, creating an inferior condition or privilege of employment because of her gender." The suit calls for the episode to be removed from public platforms. Kenya Moore suspended indefinitely: She's off 'Real Housewives' amid 'revenge porn' allegations The same day that Eady's lawsuit was filed, Moore confirmed on X that she would not be taking part in a "Real Housewives of Atlanta" reunion taping happening on June 5. "Please know I take full accountability for my actions and deeply apologize to all those affected including Brittney, the cast, crew, guests and viewers," she said. "I look forward to seeing you all back on Bravo soon." Contributing: Taijuan Moorman
