Russell Martin bemoans ‘too many scary moments' in Rangers' defeat
Midfielder Lyall Cameron levelled on the hour with his first Rangers goal but Plzen substitute Svetozar Markovic restored the home side's lead in the 83rd minute when he took advantage of more sloppy marking and the Light Blues could have conceded more, with goalkeeper Jack Butland again in fine form.
Boss Martin, under fire from Gers fans after drawing their first two William Hill Premiership fixtures to already sit four points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic, told Rangers TV: 'I'm disappointed we lost. We had some really good moments, but disappointed how many shots we gave them, how many chances we gave them.
'And also disappointed with how many times we got in and around their box, with overload, big numbers, and then don't execute the final pass.
'So there were some really good moments of football. We saw the game out really well in the last seven minutes with some really good football.
'But there were way too many moments for them, that were self-inflicted as well, really.
'I said to the guys, we have to bring both sides of the game.
'So second half when we scored, we actually played some really good stuff, scored a goal and then almost switched off again, like, 'it's okay, it's fine now'.
'And we just can't do that. We have to be really relentless. So I'm disappointed with the performance, I'm disappointed with the result, but there's lots to build on, and we just need to be cleaner with the ball.
'The amount of times we played through the press in the first half and it came to absolutely nothing.
'We turned the ball over. And if we turn the ball over being really aggressive, trying something, that's fine, but we just turned the ball over so cheaply.
'We can't do that. The guys that came on the pitch really helped us take the ball in. Danilo was fantastic. Kieran (Dowell) and Nedim (Bajrami) helped us take the ball.
'So, again, another brilliant bit of learning and we're through to the last qualifying round for the Champions League, but I am annoyed.
'It's my job to be annoyed at some of the stuff, and also, we'll show them some of the really good stuff as well.
'But that wasn't enough. There's too many scary moments for the opposition that really we can do better with.'

Jacob Ramsey has swapped Aston Villa for Newcastle United and will wear the No.41 shirt on Tyneside after the Magpies took advantage of the Villans PSR issues to land the former England Under-21 star Newcastle United have sealed the signing of Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey in a £43million deal. Murphy, 24, leaves Villa Park to join the Magpies in a big-money deal that helps Villa meet Profit and Sustainability Rules. The current campaign is Villa's third successive in European competition, and UEFA rules mean they can only record losses of £60million - far less than the Premier League's guidelines of £105million. They have sold Ramsey to meet that figure, while also bringing down the percentage of revenue they spend on player wages; that number was 91 percent at the start of summer, and needs to get down to below 70 percent. When the two clubs met in their Premier League opener on Saturday, fans of both united in chanting against the Premier League and football's financial regulations, Newcastle having been forced to sell young stars Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh 12 months ago. But now Eddie Howe's men have more leeway and have taken full advantage of Villa's situation, paying Villa a guaranteed £39million for Ramsey - who made 167 appearances in all competitions for the Villans, scoring 17 times - with a further £4m in potential add-ons. 'I'm delighted to be here,' said Ramsey. 'It's been a mad two or three days, but I'm really happy to be here and I can 't wait to get started. 'This is a big move for me, but as soon as I knew the gaffer was interested and really Iiked me, it didn't take much time to decide. His track record of developing players, especially those who have gone on to become internationals here, speaks for itself. 'It was always a tough game playing for Villa against Newcastle - the team is full of energy, so athletic and the fans are so passionate. I feel my game will suit that and I'm excited to be on the other end of it now.' Toon boss Eddie Howe declared: 'Jacob is another fantastic addition to our squad. His qualities will bring us something different on the pitch and he fits the profile of being young and hungry to develop, but also with a wealth of Premier League football under his belt. Several reports coming out of the country had it as good as a done deal, with a number claiming that personal terms had been agreed - but crucially that a fee between the clubs hadn't been. Speaking early last month, Rangers boss Russell Martin confirmed a bid had been received for Dessers but said it was "nowhere near out valuation at the football club." Martin didn't confirm whether AEK Athens were indeed the club to have made a move. Dessers was injured at the time of Martin's comments but has since recovered and regained his place in the Rangers side. He scored from the penalty spot in the 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in Champions League qualifying a couple of weeks ago. Dessers started the second leg in midweek too but went off after suffering what appeared to be a nasty injury. He missed Saturday's Premier Sports Cup win over Alloa but Rangers hope he'll be ready to face Club Brugge on Tuesday. While exit talk surrounding Dessers has gone a little quiet, a fresh report claims that AEK Athens ARE still interested in signing the striker. But for someone to be signed, it's claimed AEK will need to move someone on. The report adds that a move for Dessers 'should not be ruled out.' AEK Athens' interest in Dessers looked to be over when they landed a new striker earlier this month. They signed former Real Madrid frontman Luka Jovic on a permanent deal from AC Milan back on August 5. But it seems they COULD still be heading back in for Dessers after all.
