BBC Comic Relief's Gethin Jones 'so confused' as he issues 'emotional' update after 24 hour challenge
Gethin Jones has issued an emotional update after his incredible Comic Relief challenge. The Morning Live presenter was joined by his co-host, Helen Skelton, to take part in the Wheely Big Challenge to raise money for Red Nose Day.
The challenge saw the two complete a skate-a-thon to raise funds for vital projects that tackle poverty, injustice, conflict, and climate change in the UK and around the world. The two were cheered on by famous faces such as Claudia Winkleman, Janette Manrara, Kevin Clifton, Sir Chris Hoy and Rick Astley.
They completed the challenge today and raised a whopping £890,745 for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day. Gethin has now issued an update with his Instagram followers after he completed the challenge.

He revealed he has taken a well deserved rest as he shared a snap from his bed. He said: "Just woken up after a few hours sleep. I'm so confused. Did not know why I had this top on, or where I was! It will take a little while to process the last 24hours.
"I'm BLOWN away by your generosity. I'm emotional about how much this will help people who have nowhere to turn. I think there's a few minutes left to donate. I think the details are still in the bio. I've not long got my phone back, the ML social team have been busy on here "
Many people took to the comments to praise Gethin after he completed the challenge. Dr Punam Krishan said: "You both smashed it, so proud of you and Helen xxx."
Gorka Marquez commented: "You both did so amazing" Dan Walker said: "Well played sir." Comedian Joel Dommett said: "Smashed it buddy! Xxxx"
Gethin suffered during the challenge but battled on and was relieved to get through the challenge. In a statement after he completed the challenge, he said: "The total as it stands is £890,000.
"It's been another ridiculous, brutal, exhausting, exhilarating, emotional experience and I think when people watch where the money goes to, it really hits people hard, and I'll never underestimate or not appreciate the fact that times are hard but people still donated.
"To raise that money is fantastic and it's such a privilege to do it on behalf of Comic Relief and hopefully we can change lives and maybe even save lives.'
Helen was also thrilled to reach the end of the challenge as she said: "'I feel dizzy from going around in a circle in a windowless room for 24 hours! But so overwhelmed from people joining in. Times are tough for people, so any donation is so overwhelming and we are very grateful.'
Red Nose Day is an annual campaign that raises money to help tackle poverty and provide food, essential healthcare, or safe shelter for people in the UK and around the world. This year will mark the show's 40th anniversary.
The live broadcast from Media City in Salford will be hosted by an all-star cast including Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Alison Hammond. Comic Relief starts at 7pm on Friday, March 21.
It will air on BBC One and BBC Two. It can also be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The programme will be live on BBC One for three hours, finishing at around 10pm.

Glastonbury fans declare the 'best thing to happen' as they 'work out' identity of secret performer
Glastonbury Festival fans and attendees believe they've figured the identity of one of the enigmatic 'TBA' (to be announced) slots that's due to take place at the event today (Friday, June 27). While many people have been trying to unravel the mystery surrounding the act known as Patchwork appearing on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night (June 28), speculation has continued over the elusive 'TBA' act. Many eagle-eyed fans noticed a short gap on the Pyramid Stage on Friday, lasting just 35 minutes between 4.55pm and 5.30pm. Rumours circulated about the likes of Radiohead, Ed Sheeran, Lorde and Lewis Capaldi were all thrown into the mix. However it appears that to be all but confirmed that the TBA slot will be none other than the Glasgow-based singer, Lewis Capaldi. Posts appeared on social media earlier this week of two billboards, one in Somerset and one in Lewis' hometown of Glasgow, with mysterious lyrics and a phone number. READ MORE: Steps star shares reason why the hit pop group rejected iconic Glastonbury gig READ MORE: First-ever musical act broadcast at Glastonbury Festival recalls 'amazing experience' A post shared by @thearchbishopofbanterbury from a user called John read: 'Two mysterious billboards have popped up overnight, one at the site of Glastonbury festival and one in Glasgow.' The billboards read, 'I've had my share of Monday mornings when I can't get up,' and 'I refuse to spend my best year rotting in the sun'. To add more fuel to the fire, Lewis launched his return to the music scene, releasing a sneak peak of his new song 'Survive' at midnight on Friday. In an Instagram post, the singer wrote: 'It's been a while…' View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Archbishop of Banterbury(@thearchbishopofbanterbury) Fan account Secret Glasto appeared to validate the rumours, encouraging fans to watch Lewis' return. The account wrote: 'Already widely known, but Lewis Capaldi will be playing the TBA on he Pyramid stage between 1655–1730. He's had a tough few years so go give him some Glastonbury love.' Glastonbury fans shared some love for the singer, with Dave writing on X (formerly known as Twitter): 'Good to see lewis capaldi back, was in the crowd last time at glastonbury and could see how much he was struggling. Hope he smashes it today back there.' Coral agreed: 'The best thing that can happen today is for Lewis Capaldi to make a comeback on Glastonbury pyramid stage. The love he will feel will be another level, his new song today…' Lewis last appeared at Glastonbury in 2023, where he was seen struggling to continue singing due to the impact of his Tourette's. The crowd continued to sing his songs back to him. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lewis Capaldi (@lewiscapaldi) Later on the singer addressed his performance, announcing a break from touring for the foreseeable future. In an Instagram post, he wrote: 'Hello everyone. First of all, thank you to Glastonbury for having me, for singing along when I needed it and for all the amazing messages afterwards. It really does mean the world. 'The fact that this probably won't come as a surprise doesn't make it any easier to write, but I'm very sorry to let you know I'm going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future. 'I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I'd hoped 3 weeks away would sort me out. But the truth is I'm still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette's and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come. 'I know I'm incredibly fortunate to be able to take some time out when others can't and I'd like to thank my amazing family, friends, team, medical professionals and all of your who've been so supportive every step of the way through the good times and even more so during this past year when I've needed it more than ever. 'I'm so incredibly sorry to everyone who had planned to come to a shower before the end of the year but I need to feel well to perform at the standard you all deserve. Playing for you every night is all I've ever dreamed of so this has been the most difficult decision of my life. I'll be back as soon as I possibly can. 'All my love, always, Lewis.' Lorde has also appeared to self-confirm her appearance on the Woodsies stage at 11.30pm on Friday. She shared a snapshot of the iconic tent to her Instagram story followed by the message, '11.30am BST'. For information about how to watch Glastonbury from the comfort of your own home, read here. Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka dance at Centre Court and post about it on TikTok and Instagram
LONDON (AP) — Just in case anyone might have wondered whether there was any lingering animosity between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka after their French Open final, the two tennis stars offered proof that all is well by dancing together at Wimbledon on Friday and posting videos on social media. 'TikTok dances always had a way of bringing people together,' Sabalenka wrote on her Instagram feed below a clip of the duo showing off their moves on the Centre Court grass to the strains of the 1990 hit 'Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)' by C+C Music Factory. Gauff, a frequent TikTok user, put up a video of the pair standing outside the main stadium at the All England Club and mouthing along to a track with the words: 'OK, guys, we're back. Did you miss us? 'Cause we missed you.' Gauff wrote: 'the olive branch was extended and accepted! we're good so you guys should be too.' The No. 1-ranked Sabalenka and the No. 2-ranked Gauff held a practice session together at Centre Court ahead of the year's third Grand Slam tournament , which begins on Monday. Three weeks ago, Gauff beat Sabalenka 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 in the championship match at the last major, the French Open. Afterward, Sabalenka drew criticism from some for saying Gauff 'won the match not because she played incredible; just because I made all of those mistakes from ... easy balls.' Later, Sabalenka called her comments 'unprofessional' and said she had written to Gauff to apologize . Sabalenka, a 27-year-old from Belarus, is a three-time Grand Slam champion and was the runner-up both times Gauff, a 21-year-old American, won a major trophy, including at the 2023 U.S. Open . At Wimbledon this year, they only could face each other in the July 12 final. ___ Howard Fendrich has been the AP's tennis writer since 2002. Find his stories here: . More AP tennis:

Travis Kelce's Happy Gilmore 2 costar effusively applauds his acting
Travis Kelce Shines as a 'Surprisingly Good' Actor in Happy Gilmore 2, Says Christopher McDonald (Exclusive) Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to 1996's raucous comedy Happy Gilmore, hits Netflix on July 25, bringing Adam Sandler's lovable Happy back into our lives. The hockey-player-turned-golfer returns for what will surely be more shenanigans, with Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald and even Ben Stiller reprising their roles from the original. Some new faces are joining the fray, including Margaret Qualley, Bad Bunny, Benny Safdie and Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce. This isn't the first acting gig for the three-time Super Bowl winner as Kelce had a recurring role in FX's Grotesquerie, and he hosted the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? Kelce received high praise from Grotesquerie star Niecy Nash and creator Ryan Murphy, and now he's getting more of the same from Happy Gilmore 2 costar McDonald. In an exclusive interview with People, McDonald was effusive with his praise of Kelce. "Travis Kelce has been out there and I just really liked him as a person. He is really funny. Way too handsome, by the way, but really a good actor actually," McDonald said. "Surprisingly good." You can catch Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2 next month when it hits streaming on Netflix on July 25.
