Teacher charged with killing of hikers at Arkansas park pleads not guilty to murder
Andrew James McGann entered the plea during a brief hearing before a state judge at Washington County 's jail Monday morning. Circuit Judge Joanna Taylor scheduled McGann's next hearing for Nov. 14. He's being held without bond.
McGann has been charged with two counts of capital murder in the July 26 killing of Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41. The two were hiking with their daughters — ages 7 and 9 years old — and the girls were not injured in the attack.
Authorities have not publicly identified a motive for the attack at Devil's Den, a 2,500-acre (1,000-hectare) state park about 140 miles (220 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock.
McGann was arrested on July 30 at a barbershop in Springdale, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of the park.
McGann had not yet started his new job at Springdale Public Schools and had previously worked in Texas and Oklahoma. Authorities have said he did not have a prior criminal record.
State Police have said McGann admitted to the killings shortly after his arrest and that investigators matched his DNA to blood found at the crime scene.

Murder hunt launched after woman in her 20s is found dead near care home
A murder hunt has been launched after a woman in her twenties was found dead near a care home. The horrifying attack happened early on Saturday morning on Chadwell Heath Lane in the Romford area of east London. Metropolitan Police officers were called at 5.34am to reports of an assault and helped the woman along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. But she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Officers in hazmat suits appear to be examining a vehicle with large clear plastic bags of unknown items in them. Detective Superintendent Brian Hobbs said: 'Our thoughts today are with the victim's family and friends in light of this truly tragic event. 'Local residents will see an increased number of officers in and around the area while our investigative work is carried out. 'I want to thank residents for their patience while this continues. 'I would ask anyone who was in the area of Romford, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to come forward to us.' Two charged with murder after man dies in Gravesend
A man and a woman have been charged with murder after the death of a man in said they were called to reports of a disturbance involving a group of people outside a house in Augustine Road, Gravesend, at 22.21 BST on Tuesday.A man, aged in his 30s, was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital but died while being treated, said Kent Police. His next of kin have been Bulica, 25, from Albania, and Erika Korska, 31, from Latvia, both living in Gravesend, were charged with murder on Saturday. The force said Mr Bulica and Ms Korska were arrested just after midnight on have been remanded in police custody, due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday.A 33-year-old man from Gravesend, who was also arrested in connection with the man's death, has been released without charge, police have renewed an appeal for anyone with relevant information about the incident to get in touch.
