Nintendo preps for Switch 2 with a better way to share screenshots to your phone

It's hard to believe, but we're only seven days out before the Nintendo Switch 2 hits store shelves. In preparation for the new console's arrival, the Nintendo Switch Online App has received an update. This update brings a few helpful changes that make the app much more useful than before.
Today, version 3.0.1 of the Nintendo Switch Online App rolled out to Android and iOS. This update contains a few notable revisions to the app. The first bullet point in the changelog mentions that the app's name has been shortened to the Nintendo Switch App. Nintendo has also redesigned some of the app's elements.
One of the more important improvements in this update involves screenshots and videos. Previously, you had to scan a QR code and connect to a temporary Wi-Fi network to transfer files wirelessly from the Switch to your phone. Now you'll be able to upload screenshots and videos from your Switch 2 to your phone automatically. Unfortunately, this functionality is only for the Switch 2. The app states that you'll be able to upload up to 100 files, which can be stored for up to 30 days.
A few other nice changes are that you can now receive invites for GameChat, get notifications when friends are online, and add new friends all in the app. Nintendo also mentions that the update contains fixes for known bugs.

Considering that similar features have long existed in PlayStation's and Xbox's apps, it's nice to see Nintendo finally catch up to its peers in this respect. But this wasn't the only update the company released today, as the Nintendo Today app also received some attention. Users can now link the app's calendar with their own calendar app, favorite content, and filter news.

Hunter Schafer Urged to Play Princess Zelda in New Movie
Some fans have a clear idea of who they want to play Zelda in the upcoming movie based on the video game, The Legend of Zelda. Schafer is "being eyed for the role of Zelda in the live-action Legend of Zelda movie," CBR reported, citing Richtman's locked-down "scoop." This is "in part because of her physical resemblance to the iconic video game princess, CBR reported. A Reddit thread emerged to discuss Richtman's post, with the poster declaring the news "very exciting if true." Another wrote that "she genuinely looks like Zelda." However, others cast doubt on the reliability of the tip. Richtman has been debated on Reddit before, with some calling him an "extremely reliable trailer leaker." His post has people buzzing, though, about the possibility of Schafer playing Zelda, which some fans have been urging for a while. According to The Pink News, the live-action film "will be inspired by one of the most beloved franchises in the gaming world." Schafer stars as Jules Vaughn on Euphoria and also appeared in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, as well as Cuckoo, according to IMDB. The film "will be produced by Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc., and directed by Wes Ball. China's purchasing managers index rose from 49.0 in April to 49.5 in May, the National Bureau of Statistics said. Meanwhile, the manufacturing index showed growth in the sector, although the index measuring new orders remained under 50 despite some improvement. National Bureau of Statistics senior statistician Zhao Qinghe said some companies with U.S. business reported accelerated resumption of foreign trade orders, and there was an improvement in import and export conditions. The U.S.-China deal, reached earlier this month, cuts Trump's tariffs from 145% to 30% for 90 days, creating time for negotiators from both sides to reach a more substantive agreement. China also reduced its taxes on U.S. goods from 125% to 10%. But the remaining tariffs are still higher than they were before Trump took office, and businesses and investors face uncertainty about whether the truce will last. Trump said Friday that he will no longer be 'Mr. NICE GUY' with China on trade, declaring in a social media post that the country had broken an unspecified agreement with the United States. He later said in the Oval Office that he will speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping and 'hopefully we'll work that out,' while still insisting China had violated the agreement. Over the past week, tensions between Beijing and Washington also intensified after the U.S. said it would start revoking visas for Chinese students studying in the country. China has lodged a protest with the U.S. over the matter, calling the decision unreasonable.
