
Man arrested for eight Guelph break-ins

The Guelph Police Service has arrested a suspect after eight local businesses were broken into over the last few months.
Investigators said businesses throughout the city have reported a combined total of approximately $4,000 worth of damage and thefts since early March.
On Tuesday, officers arrested a suspect downtown. During the arrest a lock picking device and saw were found.
A 36-year-old Guelph man has been charged with eight counts of break and enter, one count of mischief under $5,000, possessing break and enter tools and more than two dozen counts of breaching court orders.

Search ongoing for man who possibly drowned at Verdun Beach
Montreal police (SPVM) are searching for a man in his 20s who possibly drowned at Verdun Beach Saturday. The SPVM said it received 911 calls around 5:20 p.m. about a man in distress by Verdun Beach. He was playing a sport in the Saint-Lawrence River near LaSalle Boulevard and de l'Église Street. When they arrived, officers could not find him from the shore. SPVM divers, the Montreal Fire Department and the Canadian Coast Guard searched well into the night, police said Sunday morning. Witnesses were interviewed on-site Saturday. The search resumed Sunday morning.

Montreal police investigating suspicious death in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
