Amanda Seyfried: Paramount owes me for Mean Girls merch
Amanda Seyfried believes Paramount owe her money for Mean Girls merchandise.
The 39-year-old actress - who played Karen Smith in the 2004 movie - loves the enduring popularity of the teen comedy but admitted she feels "a little resentful" because her fact appears on so many T-shirts and she doesn't get any royalties for the use of her likeness.
Asked if she has rewatched the film, she told Adam Brody for Variety's Actors on Actors series: "No. It's on often enough though. I love it. I really love seeing my face on people's T-shirts.
"I'm a little resentful because Paramount still owes me some money for the likeness. Every store sells Mean Girls T-shirts with our faces.
Amanda questioned if she missed out on extra revenue because she was young and "dumb" when she signed her contract for the film.
She said: "Don't I [get something from that]? Is it because I was 17 and dumb? Or is it..?' "
But Amanda is always grateful when she meets fans of the film.
She said: "Even the girl at TSA tells me it's her favourite movie. I'm like, 'Great! I had nothing to do with it, I was 17...'"
Meanwhile, the Mamma Mia star - who has two children with husband Thomas Sadoski - thinks she is "allergic" to marijuana, though she had some enjoyable times consuming the drug with Adam.
Reminiscing about visiting a beach when they filmed 'Jennifer's Body', she said: "I don't know if I could do pot again. I think I'm allergic to it. I had some bad experiences.
"But I remember that being the most peaceful. That was probably the last time. I might have also gotten stoned with you at your house that I now own.
"I think the only time I've enjoyed pot was with you, so thank you. You have an effect on people. Look at what's happening: You're in a hit show, and people are gasping, 'Adam Brody'."
The Nobody Wants This star quipped: "I don't think it's pot-related."
Amanda agreed: "No, it's just that you make people feel at ease."
Adam said: "I really appreciate that, I think because I'm pretty attuned to people's discomfort because I'm in touch with my own, so I don't think I'm a bad host in that way."

Peter said to Variety about the prospect of working with Brad Bird on The Incredibles 3: 'Brad has been such a mentor to me. Andy Serkis wants to keep his Animal Farm adaptation full of 'innocence' to balance the book's darkness. The 58-year-old actor and filmmaker is set to helm an animated take on George Orwell's dystopian fable – which tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human owner in the hope of creating a society where they can be free and equal. He has now told Variety about why he chose animation as the format to tell the tale: 'We started to work on it and did a lot of experimenting, which led us to realize that animation was the right medium for this adaptation. 'That allowed us to keep the innocence of the storytelling that the original book had, while being able to say much more than live action would allow us to do. 'In live action, such a story would necessarily have been darker from the outset. Whereas with an animated movie, breaking those ties with reality and keeping Orwell's book, which he described as a fairy tale, in that realm gave us much more freedom to still have emotional engagement with the characters, keep it innocent, and then progressively let the darker themes come in underneath that.' Andy added when asked what value the fable has in the context of today's troubled times: 'To really remember that truth is something to be valued. Honesty, selflessness as well. 'We have all become self-driven, and I think it's worth reminding ourselves that there is satisfaction to be had in working not for yourself but for the benefit of others. 'That all sounds very woolly and, in a way, utopian. But I do think that there are certain core human values that are slipping away, and I think that our story somehow questions that.' Nicholas Stoller has adapted the screenplay for Andy's long-awaited movie, which had previously been set up at Netflix, and will produce with Adam Nagle, Dave Rosenbaum and Jonathan Cavendish. Adam said in a statement announcing the project was underway: 'Ever since 1945, when George Orwell first published Animal Farm, the story has remained relevant and a key instrument in understanding how the world works.'

Machine Gun Kelly gets music legend to introduce his new album
Bob Dylan appears to have narrated the trailer for Machine Gun Kelly's forthcoming album, Lost Americana. After the 84-year-old music legend surprised fans by sharing footage of the rap rocker, 35, on his Instagram in February, he's played a part in the unveiling of Colson Baker's first album since 2022's Mainstream Sellout. In the clip, Dylan (as sources confirmed to Variety) says of the collection: 'It's a sonic map of forgotten places, a tribute to the spirit of reinvention and a quest to reclaim the essence of American freedom. 'From the glow of neon diners to the rumble of the motorcycles, this is music that celebrates the beauty found in the in-between spaces. Where the past is reimagined, and the future is forged on your own terms.' In the video, MGK is seen having fun with friends and hanging out in the mountains. Earlier this year, Dylan shared a clip of MGK performing acoustically at Park Ave CDs store in Orlando, Florida. The Rap Devil star then got to meet the 'Like a Rolling Stone' hitmaker, 'all because of a video of me rapping in a music store 10 years ago." He joined Dylan onstage at Willie Nelson's Outlaw Music Festival Tour stop in Los Angeles with Billie Strings, John Stamos, and Johnny Knoxville. After the appearance, he penned on X: 'i met and had a conversation with someone last night that i never thought i'd get the honor to meet all because of a video of me rapping in a music store 10 years ago. i love music. (sic)" Lost Americana is set to be released on August 8.
