1 reason for Seahawks optimism in 2025
Pro Football Focus recently wrote an article outlining one reason for optimism for all 32 teams in the league. The Seattle Seahawks underwent significant changes this offseason. The most helpful change may have occurred at offensive tackle, where Klint Kubiak was hired in place of the fired Ryan Grubb.
"Seattle has seen a ton of offensive turnover this offseason," Dalton Wasserman wrote. "That unit's next era will be led by former Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who did a nice job of creating production when he had a viable starting quarterback in New Orleans last season."
"Flanking Kubiak in Seattle will be quarterback Sam Darnold, who played in San Francisco with Kubiak as his quarterbacks coach in 2023," Wasserman continued. "If Darnold can maintain the 80.7 PFF overall grade he recorded in a similar offense last season, the Seahawks' offense could be in good shape."
The Seahawks are certainly hoping that the existing relationship and familiarity between Kubiak and new starting quarterback Sam Darnold will lead to positive on-field results. Grubb, the previous OC, routinely looked in over his head. That's why head coach Mike Macdonald fired him after one season. Kubiak could help the Seahawks' offense greatly improve in 2025.
