Jan Shepard dies at 96 after pneumonia battle, remembered for roles with Elvis Presley
Best known for her work during Hollywood's golden age, Shepard starred in King Creole (1958) and Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966) with Elvis Presley. Reflecting on her first encounter with the rock 'n' roll icon, Shepard once shared a humorous anecdote: their outfits matched, leading Elvis to joke, "Honey, I'm either going to have to give you my jacket or you're going to have to give me your pants." Shepard described her role in King Creole as "the break of her life," where she played Mimi Fisher, Elvis' on-screen sister. Her other notable film credits include Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959).
Outside of her film career, Shepard was a prominent presence on television, appearing in westerns like Rawhide, The Virginian, and Gunsmoke. Her small-screen career began in 1952 with Fireside Theatre, one of the earliest successful TV series.
Away from the spotlight, Shepard was born in Pennsylvania in 1928 and married actor Dirk London (Ray Boyle) in 1954. Together, they had a son, Brandon Boyle. London passed away in 2022 at the age of 98. Brandon paid tribute to his mother, saying, "She was a good one and will be dearly missed."
Shepard remained connected to her Hollywood legacy, attending events such as the 2012 "Elvis at the Movies" program at the Grammy Museum. Her remarkable contributions to film and television, especially her iconic collaborations with Elvis Presley, cement her status as a cherished figure in Hollywood's golden age.

Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus stun as new couple goes official on red carpet
Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus have gone public with their relationship, making their first official appearance as a couple on the red carpet. The pair posed for photos during the London press event for Channel 4's The Inheritance, where Hurley stars in a leading role. Their arrival together confirmed months of speculation about their budding romance. The 60-year-old actress dazzled in a figure-hugging red gown with a chest cut-out and gold heels, while Cyrus, 63, wore his signature all-black outfit, complete with tattoos, a full beard, and long straight hair. Their chemistry was evident as they posed side by side, smiling warmly for the cameras at The Ned, the venue hosting the photocall. The relationship reportedly began in 2022 when the two worked together on Christmas in Paradise, a Netflix film. Though they shared limited screen time, Cyrus later admitted he felt a spark during filming. Speaking in April on Apple Music's Ty Bentli Show, he recalled, "We just laughed, and it was at a time when I wasn't laughing a lot... and I found that the oddest thing." Their red-carpet moment comes four months after their relationship was first reported in April. Since then, the couple has been spotted privately but never posed for media together until now. Online reaction has been divided, with some fans celebrating the unlikely pairing, while others expressed surprise at the match. Hurley's appearance also reignited admiration for her timeless beauty, with social media users praising her look. Meanwhile, Cyrus' stoic presence and support for his partner added a surprising country twist to the British television scene. Whether this relationship will continue to evolve in the public eye remains to be seen, but for now, their joint appearance has made headlines across entertainment media.

'Paradise' season 2 promises chaos, secrets, and a surprising new ally
The underground sanctuary is no longer enough. Sterling K. Brown returns in season 2 of Paradise, but this time, his character Xavier Collins is venturing into a world scorched by survival and secrecy. With the bunker behind him, his mission is clear: find his wife, if she's still alive. 'There's more than one way to skin a cat,' Brown said, hinting that Xavier's journey across post-apocalyptic America won't be straightforward. 'Planes, trains, and automobiles' might have been a joke, but in a world destabilised by an EMP and fragmented societies, every step matters. The show picks up with Xavier navigating unfamiliar terrain, confronting those who survived without the safety of Paradise's walls, some peaceful, others not. The Emmy-nominated series splits its narrative between Xavier's perilous journey and the crumbling order back inside the bunker. Jane (Nicole Brydon Bloom), who now cares for Xavier's children, continues to keep her darker motives hidden, though the audience knows more than he does. 'Jane has Xavier's complete trust,' Brown noted, adding that it keeps viewers in suspense. And then there's Sinatra, or Samantha, as Brown prefers. Shot and wounded, the mysterious leader may be on a path to redemption. Whether Xavier will see it that way is another matter entirely. 'He probably still wants to kill her.' Adding fresh intrigue is Shailene Woodley, who joins the cast this season. Brown was tight-lipped about her role but said, 'She's sweet, honest, open, ready to play, and very professional... She's outstanding.' With more flashbacks to President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) and deepening conspiracies, Paradise isn't just expanding its geography, it's exposing its soul. The stakes are higher, the alliances murkier, and the outside world may hold more than Xavier ever expected.
