Billy Joel Is In The Middle Of A Huge Week On The Charts

It's a big week for Billy Joel in the United Kingdom. Not just a big week, actually, but really a landmark one. The piano-playing icon has been a superstar in the country for decades, thanks to his once seemingly endless list of hits and a catalog that continues to resonate with listeners of all ages. And while several of his albums have performed well across the pond, one in particular stands out as his most successful when it comes to length of time on one very important chart: Piano Man – The Very Best Of.
This greatest hits compilation has become the go-to title for fans looking to stream Joel's biggest tracks for years. It's the release that listeners continually return to, and this week, all that activity helps the set reach a special milestone.
This frame, Piano Man reaches a historic mark on the Official Albums chart, the U.K. ranking that blends physical sales, digital purchases, and streaming data to determine the most popular full-lengths in the nation. Joel's best-of collection has now spent 300 weeks on that tally. It is far and away Joel's longest-charting release on the list and, notably, the first of his efforts to rack up 300 frames on any U.K. albums ranking.
Piano Man isn't just the first Joel title to hit 300 weeks on the Official Albums chart — it's still the only one of his efforts to log triple-digit appearances on the ranking. His next-longest-running full-length on the chart is An Innocent Man, the 1983 blockbuster that includes the inescapable 'Uptown Girl.' That album has managed 97 weeks on the tally, which is a solid showing, but still far behind the compilation's milestone.
The same collection also earns a brand new peak on another important U.K. chart this week. On the Official Albums Streaming ranking, Piano Man lifts one space to No. 29. That is a new all-time high for the set.
Amazingly, Piano Man reaches that position 268 weeks into its time on the streaming-only list, which reflects the most-played albums and EPs across major platforms in the U.K. Since its debut on the chart back in mid-2019, the title has drifted on and off the roster, but clearly, it's remained a reliable favorite.

After Their Friendship Was Reportedly Left "Fractured" By The Justin Baldoni Lawsuit, There's A New Update On Taylor Swift And Blake Lively

There's a new update on Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's friendship amidst Blake's ongoing legal woes with Justin Baldoni. Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Images for The Recording Academy, Dominik Bindl / WireImage In December, Blake sued Justin, her co-star and director on It Ends with Us, claiming he sexually harassed her on set. In addition to denying the claims, Justin launched a countersuit against Blake, alleging defamation, civil extortion, and false light invasion of privacy. Taylor was roped into the drama in May when Justin's legal team subpoenaed her, arguing that Blake had used "her megacelebrity friend to pressure [Justin]" into making changes on the film. A rep for Taylor immediately denied their claims. "Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie," her spokesperson said. "She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history." Related: Donald Trump's Apparent Baldness Is Going Viral In A New Photo According to the rep, Taylor had only agreed to license her song "My Tears Ricochet" for use in the trailer and one scene. "Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift's name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case." Still, the drama continued when Justin's lawyers wrote a letter to a judge claiming that Blake had allegedly asked Taylor to delete their text messages and "that if Ms. Swift refused to do so, private text messages of a personal nature in Ms. Lively's possession would be released." Related: People Are Talking About The Most Shocking Celebrity Deaths That Don't Get Enough Attention Blake's lawyer called the claims "categorically false," and the next day, a judge struck the "improper" letter from the record. However, a source claimed that Blake and Taylor's friendship was still left "fractured" in the wake of it. "Their friendship has halted," a source purportedly close to Taylor told People last month. "Taylor wants no part in this drama," the source added, before clarifying it didn't mean they were "not no longer friends" — they were just "taking some space." Neither Taylor nor Blake addressed the report at the time, but now, almost a month on, a source has offered an update, telling People their friendship still "isn't the same." "[They] aren't as close and haven't been spending as much time together as they did in the past," the source said. However, they claimed Taylor and Blake are trying to get back "on good terms." "Taylor is working to trust Blake again but it's going to take some time," the insider added. I guess we'll see what happens. In the meantime, BuzzFeed has reached out to reps for Taylor, Blake, and Justin for comment on the latest report. Jordan Love ‘can't wait' for Aaron Rodgers duel in Packers-Steelers game

Outside of his late June wedding date to tie the knot with longtime girlfriend Ronika Stone, Jordan Love has another reunion on his mind. On Oct. 26, Love will face off against former teammate and friend Aaron Rodgers, who is the Steelers' new No. 1 quarterback, when the Packers travel to Acrisure Stadium for the primetime 'Sunday Night Football' slot. 'It's going to be fun. It's going to be awesome. I'm excited for it,' Love told Channel 3000 during a break in Friday's first round of the American Family Insurance Championship at TPC Wisconsin. 'I can't wait to be on different sides, meeting up, and I know we'll talk pre-game, things like that. And hopefully we can exchange jerseys after.' Getty Images Rodgers was in Love's ear for three years after the Packers drafted the former Utah State quarterback at 26th overall in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Love watched Rodgers win back-to-back MVPs in 2020 and 2021. In those same seasons, he led the Packers to the playoffs and went as far as the divisional round in 2021. In 2022, he witnessed Rodgers' final season in the green and gold, which ended with an 8-9 record. Advertisement Love learned of Rodgers' new team the same way as everyone else, and is happy for his former teammate to find a new home after an unlucky and dissappointed stint with the Jets. 'I was excited for A-Rod. I don't think I was too surprised,' Love said. 'I feel like there were a lot of rumors going on throughout the whole offseason about him going to the Steelers. 'I was excited for him, that he was obviously coming back and going to be playing. There were also some rumors that he might be done, so just knowing he's going to keep playing, that's pretty awesome.' 4 Aaron Rodgers #12 and Jordan Love #10 of the Green Bay Packers look on prior to the game against the Tennessee Titans at Lambeau Field on November 17, 2022 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Getty Images Advertisement The signing with the Steelers sparked memories to come up for Love about Rodgers' mentorship, along with how Brett Favre approached a young Rodgers. 'I appreciate definitely the way A-Rod handled being in that situation, and I think a big part of it — which he told me — was he knew how it was for him being in that same position, and the things that he went through and the way the situation might've been handled [differently],' Love said. 'I think his perspective was, 'I'm trying to go about this a little bit differently,' which I think was awesome. 'In my time with A-Rod, we had a great relationship. It was awesome being in the same room with him, being able to learn. He was amazing with everything. And I definitely appreciate the way he handled everything on the outside with obviously him leaving and me taking over, and he's been very supportive of me [since]. 'It definitely helped with some of the negativity that might've come with that. But A-Rod handled it like a pro and did very right by me.' AP Favre's unretirement in 2008 and showing up at training camp to reclaim his old job led to a contentious relationship between the two. The pro-Favre part of the fan base took out frustrations on Rodgers, which left a mark on the quarterback. Thus, the Packers-Steelers game will have a very different energy to it than the games of Favre facing the Packers with the Vikings in 2009 and 2010. 'He'd been through the very same situation I was in, and he knew what it feels like to be in that situation,' Love said. 'I think that's just a testament to his character and the way he treats people. He was trying to go about it differently than it was for him. And I was grateful for that.'
