Through this collaboration, travel sellers across the globe will gain seamless access to Riyadh Air's NDC content via Verteil's industry-leading platform, Verteil Direct Connect (VDC), reinforcing a shared commitment to innovation and excellence in airline retailing, said a statement.
Verteil's proven expertise in deploying scalable NDC solutions for leading airlines ensures that travel sellers can access a full suite of content and functionalities, including real-time availability, rich fare options, ancillary services, and instant ticketing across multiple points of sale, it said.
Vincent Coste, Chief Commercial Officer, Riyadh Air, said: 'Riyadh Air aims to set a new global standard for airline connectivity and innovation. Partnering with Verteil at this early stage allows us to ensure a strong foundation for modern distribution technology that is both future-ready and aligned with our digital-first strategy.'

Saudi Businesses Add New Jobs At Fastest Pace In 14 Years: Riyad Bank PMI

Saudi businesses are continuing to add new jobs at top speed – but this is also leading to a 'record rise' in their wage costs. Across sectors, new jobs are seeing the 'sharpest rise' since May 2011, according to the latest PMI data. This is where the cost factor kicks in. 'This surge in demand for staff contributed to a record increase in wage costs, which added to overall cost pressures and led to a renewed rise in output prices,' according to a report by Riyad Bank. Adding to this is the cost of purchases, which in June rose at the fastest since February 2025, in part 'driven by stronger demand and rising geopolitical risks'. 'Despite these cost challenges, firms broadly raised their selling prices, reversing the declines seen in May and signaling an improved ability to pass on higher costs to customers,' said Naif Al-Ghaith, Chief Economist at Riyad Bank. The Saudi travel and tourism sector is, these days, one of the biggest hirers in the Kingdom, with the launch date of Riyadh Air coming closer on the horizon. According to hiring consultants, there is a whole slew of aviation facing businesses that are also adding to their payrolls. The Saudi non-oil economy saw its June PMI climb to 57.2 from 55.8 in May. The higher reading is 'supported by higher output levels, rising demand, and an active labour market', says Riyad Bank. 'Firms largely linked the pickup in activity to improving sales, new project starts, and better demand conditions, although the pace of output growth was softer compared to previous highs.' (The Purchasing Managers Index is a composite score that tallies business spending patterns, order intake and output, inventory levels as well as hiring. A score of 50 plus shows businesses in expansion drive.) 'Sentiment among non-oil businesses remains highly positive,' said Al-Ghaith. 'Confidence about future activity climbed to a two-year peak, supported by healthy order pipelines and stronger domestic economic conditions. 'However, cost pressures became more pronounced in June. Staff costs rose at a record pace as firms worked to retain talent, while purchase prices saw their fastest increase since February, partly driven by stronger demand and rising geopolitical risks.'

Airbus touts plane orders, Boeing focused on crash probe at air show

European aeroplane manufacturer Airbus announced Saudi and Polish orders for more than 100 aircraft at the Paris Air Show on Monday while US rival Boeing focused on 'supporting customers' after the Air India crash. The sales rivalry between Boeing and European aerospace giant Airbus usually drives the headlines as the world's top civilian plane makers announce many of their biggest orders at the air show in Le Bourget. But Boeing chief executive Kelly Ortberg said last week he was cancelling plans to attend the biennial event to spend time on the probe into the 787 Dreamliner crash. 'Our focus is on supporting our customers, rather than announcing orders at this air show,' a Boeing spokeswoman told AFP at the trade fair in Le Bourget. The London-bound Dreamliner crashed shortly after take off in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad, killing 241 passengers and crew and another 38 people on the ground. One passenger survived. For its part, Airbus announced that Riyadh Air, an airline founded in 2023, placed a 'firm' order for 25 wide-body, long-range A350-1000 aircraft. The deal would be worth more than $9 billion under 2018 catalogue prices -- which Airbus has since phased out as final sale prices vary according to contract terms and the version of an aircraft. The Riyadh Air deal could rise to 50 planes, Airbus said. Saudi aircraft leasing company AviLease placed a separate order for 30 single-aisle A320neo jets and 10 A350F freighters in a deal worth around $7 billion. The deal could rise to 22 A350F cargo planes and 55 A320neo aircraft. Polish airline LOT -- which has traditionally purchased planes from Boeing and Brazilian manufacturer Embraer -- picked Airbus for the first time, ordering 40 A220 planes worth $3.4 billion. Embraer announced that the Portuguese government had ordered a sixth KC-390 Millennium military transport plane after buying five in 2019.

Riyadh Air buys 25 Airbus A250-1000 jets at Paris Airshow

Saudi startup Riyadh Air signed a deal at the Paris Airshow on Monday to buy 25 Airbus A350-1000 jets, the plane-maker said. The deal, announced shortly after Saudi leasing company AviLease placed an order for Airbus passenger and freighter jets, also includes purchase rights for another 25 planes, Airbus said. Airbus does not publish catalogue prices but the firm part of the Riyadh Air deal is worth around $4.6 billion after typical airline discounts, according to Cirium Ascend estimates.
