Frontman abruptly ends concert mid-set after declaring ‘I can't sing anymore'

Metro4 days ago
Three days into his tour, country singer Darius Rucker announced he 'can't sing anymore' in a shock on-stage confession.
The rest of the concert at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City, was scrapped, with only a few songs performed at that point.
Darius previously scared fans when he almost fell off the stage after catching his foot on a wire while performing in Charleston, South Carolina, last year.
He rose to fame as the lead vocalist in Hootie & The Blowfish, known for tracks like Hold My Hand, Let Her Cry, and Only Wanna Be with You.
In a heartbreaking video posted to TikTok, the 59-year-old star attempted to continue for 'one more song' before conceding he could no longer sing.
'I'm going to play one more song. I promise you, we are going to figure this out. You're going to get your money back. I just can't sing.'
Darius, clearly frustrated, said he has 'never done this before' and promised to 'make this up to you', but confessed he was unable to continue.
'This never happened,' he said. 'I physically can't sing, and I promise you on everything that I stand for I will make this up to you.'
Powering through, Darius continued with his 2013 track Wagon Wheel as the audience belted back the lyrics to him.
'I'm so sorry,' he said, giving the audience more promises that they would 'figure this out' before he exited the stage.
Darius has not made any public statements about the show as devastated fans shared their support in the TikTok comments.
'Darius had to end the Atlantic City show a few songs in,' wrote original posted CaroTheBlondie. 'Feel better Darius, we love you!'
'He looked so upset when he left the stage,' commented Indigobabs2.0.
Arthur H. Bonney added it 'looked like his hands were shaking' due to his emotions, saying he 'feels so bad for him'.
Gina Appollonio Smith said: 'Oh man, I love him and hope that he's OK. As disappointed as I would've been his health is the most important thing. Unfortunately, I've never seen him in concert but his music plays as a backdrop for a big portion of my life and always will.'
Grow Food noted they had seen him perform the Friday before, and he 'sounded like he was not feeling well'. More Trending
It's unclear if Darius will be returning for his other scheduled gigs, with his next show scheduled for Saturday, July 19 in Florida.
He is due to tour at various gigs and festivals in the US across the summer, including touring with Mumford and Sons, plus a short visit to the UK in September.
Metro has reached out to Darius' reps for comment.

'I look 20 years younger thanks to one simple 20p lifestyle trick'

A woman has shared some of her top secret home remedies to help slash years off her age and keep her looking youthful - and they can all be done for as little as 20p A woman has revealed her secret to looking youthful - and it's not down to having anti-wrinkle injections. TikToker Zareefa has shared some of her home remedies she swears by, and some cost her just 20p. Zareefa, who goes by the name @byzareefa says she's never had Botox or fillers, and instead ops for some natural anti-ageing tricks instead which have been passed down through generations. ‌ The 34-year-old wellness influencer boasts nearly 300,000 followers on TikTok, and left them amazed by her stunning transformation. Now she's shared her secrets with her followers on how to take decades off her appearance. ‌ ‌ Zareefa captioned the post: "POV: you reversed your age using at home remedies". She started off by speaking about a flax seed facemask. The viral mask was nicknamed "Botox at home" by TikTokers who swear by the remedy and Zareefa said: "I took a TikTok face mask and made it 10 times better. "You're literally erasing dark spots and plumping up fine lines. I haven't had any injectables, and I'm 34," she gushed. The simple face mask is just one tablespoon of flaxseed meal and half a cup of boiling water. Mix together and leave for around 30 minutes to an hour until it forms a jelly consistency. The wellness guru then adds a pump of a dead see mud serum to supercharge the mask, targeting hyperpigmentation, texture, and breakouts all at once. After applying and washing off, Zareefa said she's left with "literal glass skin". ‌ Zareefa then revealed she swears by eggshell membrane to help reverse ageing too. She insists that the slimy skin stuck to the inside of your boiled eggs is her secret weapon. She believes it helps wiyh plump skin, glossy hair, and strong joints, thanks to its powerful combo of collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin. "Sometimes I add it to my smoothies, but most of the time I just eat it with the egg," she said. ‌ While it may sound strange, there is actual science to back up her claims as studies show the natural supplement can boost skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles in just a few weeks and ancient cultures even used it to heal wounds and regenerate tissue. Finally, the TikToker hailed the use of "banana peel Botox". She claimed the fruit peel can work just like Botox as it's full of lutein, a powerful antioxidant also found in spinach and kale, the peel helps brighten skin, reduce wrinkles, and fade dark spots. What's better, they can cost just 20p. Zareefa recommends rubbing the inside of the peel on your skin and leaving it on for ten minutes before rinsing and said it's a trick her mum used to do every time they had bananas. 'She'd make us eat the banana and use the peel on her face!' She said and told her fans to do it a few times a week and they will notice a "dramatic difference" in hydration, texture and radiance. Calling it a preventative Botox, she added: "you're not going to need any injectables if you're doing this consistently". People were loving her clever tricks, as one fan commented: "one of the best transformations I've seen. you're glowing and absolutely beautiful."

American shoppers jealous after visiting Costco abroad... and sampling 'wild' food court menu items

Shoppers were full of jealousy after a TikTok user revealed food court offerings at a Costco in Japan. The TikToker, known as racquecitytravels, visited a Costco in Tokyo this month and ordered items like a 20-piece chicken stick bucket and matcha ice cream. 'If you have the time in your itinerary, I suggest spending an afternoon at your closest Costco trying out the different food court menu items & shopping around,' she wrote in her video caption. Other items commenters couldn't stop freaking out about on the food court menu included a jumbo Bulgogi Bake, melon smoothie, and the fan-favorite combo pizza, which has been discontinued in the US. Now that shoppers have gotten a hint of the location's menu, many of them are looking to visit Japan just to order one of its 'wild' offerings. 'I needed a reason to move … and this was the icing on the cake,' a commenter wrote. 'I would go into extreme debt shopping in the Japan Costco,' a shopper responded. 'Everything in Japan is just better than USA I'm starting to see that,' another Costco member added. Several TikTok users were stunned to see that matcha ice cream was available at Costco in Tokyo Out of over 900 Costco stores worldwide, Japan is home to nearly 40 locations as of this year. The first store opened in 1999 in Hisayama, Fukuoka Prefecture, and it wasn't an easy task in making sure it would be suitable for Japanese culture. 'We had to change some of our apparel. The sizing on men's shirts in Japan, Korea and Taiwan is entirely different,' Costco co-founder Jim Seinegal told the Seattle Times. 'Our Kirkland Signature shirt has an Asian cut to it, slimmer in the waist and smaller sizes.' Despite the changes, Costco was not afraid to bring some of its American-style menu options to menus, including its signature hot dogs. The Japanese stores are also full of Kirkland branded baked goods, which were described as a ' staple at Japanese supermarkets.' Besides the Tokyo store's scrumptious food court items, TikTokers went crazy for its toys, including its Godzilla figure. 'Godzilla figures at a Costco?! - I'm in the wrong country man,' a shopper commented. Several items ranging from KitKat bars to Godzilla toys are available to purchase at Costco stores in Japan Japan is currently home to nearly 40 stores. As of now, there are over 900 locations worldwide The US has the highest Costco store count worldwide, with more than 600 locations. Many of these stores have implemented changes recently that have ignited fury from shoppers. Backlash began last year after the chain hiked its membership prices for the first time in seven years. It got worse that December after the company announced its plan to replace Pepsi beverages with Coca-Cola. Some members claimed they'd boycott the store after the change was confirmed in January, and the situation worsened in March once the first Coca-Cola machine was spotted in a newly-opened California location.
