First look at Samuel L Jackson in Tulsa King spin-off
Manfredi, or 'the General' is the main character of Tulsa King, a mafia boss who befriended Jackson's character years earlier while they were both in prison.
A photo from the production shows the two characters sitting at a table that has a bottle of alcohol on it and a reserved sign.
Stallone, 79, said: 'Chris McCarthy (co-chief executive of Paramount Global) came to me with a game-changing idea: to elevate my show beyond a mob boss series, creating a dynamic, family-driven franchise.

'I was immediately on board. Sam Jackson is the only choice to anchor this new adventure in Nola and (producer) David Glasser and 101 are the perfect partner to bring it to life.'
Mr McCarthy said: 'Samuel L Jackson brings unparalleled presence and global appeal, making him the perfect choice to maximise the momentum of one of our biggest hits and transform it into a hit franchise.
'Building on the breakout success of Sylvester Stallone's Tulsa King, audiences will now experience the full force of Jackson's dynamic, layered performance, supercharging one of Paramount+'s flagship series.'
David C Glasser, chief executive of entertainment company 101 Studios, said: 'Partnering with Paramount has been such a rich experience. (Creator) Taylor (Sheridan) had the brilliant idea to drop Sylvester Stallone in the middle of Tulsa and it has been everything we have wanted and more.
'The success of this show has now led us to another icon. I cannot wait to see what Sam brings to this world.'
Jackson, 76, has starred in films including Django (2012), The Hateful Eight (2015), Jurassic Park (1993) and The Avengers (2012).
One of his most acclaimed roles was playing hitman Jules Winnfield in Quentin Tarantino's 1994 hit crime film Pulp Fiction.
Tulsa King is a Paramount+ series that follows Stallone's character, Dwight 'the General' Manfredi, as he is sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to begin a new crime enterprise after being released from prison in New York.
Jackson's character will be introduced in the third series of Tulsa King, to premiere in September.
Stallone and Jackson were both executive producers on Nola King.

Jurassic Park star Sam Neill reveals heartbreaking loss as he shares a bittersweet tribute while in mourning
Sam Neill shared a bittersweet tribute to his socials on Saturday as he mourned the loss of a dear 'friend'. The Jurassic Park star, 77, revealed his 'beloved duck', named Magda, had died in her sleep at his vineyard Two Paddocks in New Zealand. He shared a video of the waterfowl to his Instagram, revealing she passed away while he was out of the country. 'SAD DAY. Very upset to hear that in my absence, dear old Magda, my beloved duck, passed away this week,' he wrote. 'Bruce [a member of the vineyard's team] found her in the long grass—she had died peacefully in her sleep. This was my last time with her a few weeks back.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In the clip Sam posted, the actor could be seen smiling as he cradled the black and white duck and spoke about her recent ducklings. 'She was a miracle old duck—very late in life she finally hatched some eggs and raised two hell-raiser ducklings,' Sam continued in the caption. 'Today, they stand by the dam saying goodbye to their mother, as KEVIN THE KAKA [another duck] flies past, as a salute to the old girl! Farewell Magda, my little friend.' It comes after Sam went into remission following a 'brutal' battle with cancer. He revealed on an episode of the ABC series The Assembly last year he was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stage-three blood cancer. 'I'm on a different one now, so at least I don't look like somebody's bald thumb,' he joked at the time. 'That's what I looked like for quite a while—it was embarrassing, and I lost my beard and everything, and my dignity went with it.' Sam said he found out he had cancer in 2022 during his first trip back to New Zealand after lockdowns made returning home to see his family virtually impossible. He had been away from his loved ones for two years and had only been back in his home country for an hour when a doctor called and told him the awful news. Sam and his son Tim recounted the harrowing time with Australian Story last year. 'When he hung the phone up and we sat down, and we had a little bit of a cry together. It was supposed to be a happy day. He didn't get to stay,' Tim said. Sam added: 'I was in really a fight for my life. And everything was a new world and a rather alarming world.' The actor had a brief upswing in health following the chemotherapy, but the cancer returned with a vengeance. Thankfully, Sam was eventually put on an experimental cancer drug which began to work after. He has been in remission for two years now, but admitted he is 'prepared' for the drug to eventually stop working. 'I know I've got it, but I'm not really interested in it. It's out of my control. If you can't control it, don't get into it,' he said of the disease. Sam now has infusions every two weeks and will do so for the rest of his life or until the drug stops working. The sessions are gruelling, 'very grim and depressing', he said.

Record viewing figures for South Park new season debut
The premiere of South Park season 27, which heavily satirised Donald Trump, achieved record-breaking viewership figures. The episode, titled "Sermon on the Mount," attracted 5.9 million viewers across Comedy Central and Paramount+, marking its best season premiere rating since 2022. Paramount reported that it was also the show's biggest share of a cable audience for a season premiere since 1999 and its "most social episode" to date. A spokesperson for Donald Trump criticised the episode, dismissing it as "uninspired" and claiming the show lacked relevance. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone issued a sarcastic apology, with future episodes also set to feature satirical portrayals of Trump.
