Benny Blanco Reveals Unusual Showering Habit That Made Selena Gomez Say 'Whoa'

Yahoo19-02-2025

isn't afraid to get candid about his showering rituals, even when they raise eyebrows.
The Grammy-nominated producer recently opened up about his unconventional bathing habits in a behind-the-scenes TikTok for Interview magazine's March issue, where Benny Blanco and fiancée answered fun couple questions.
When asked which of them takes the longest showers, Gomez didn't hesitate before pointing at Blanco. He fully embraced the label and even explained why his time under hot water stretches out so long.
"OK, I might not get to shower every day, but when I do, when I feel like I deserve it, I'm in there for so long contemplating life,' Blanco admitted in the TikTok. 'I sit down in every shower I go into.'
But it's not just about relaxation because Blanco also finds solace in using his showers as a form of emotional release.
'Have you ever cried in the shower? It's incredible,' he told Interview before turning to Gomez with a curious question of his own.
'Do you cry in the shower?' he asked, prompting Gomez to burst into laughter.
Blanco went on to describe another recurring experience during his extended showers, something that he calls 'death realizations.'
'I always get death realizations when I'm in the shower,' he revealed in the TikTok clip. Gomez, appearing taken aback, simply responded with a stunned 'Whoa.'
'No, like, I realize I'm gonna die, but it's in the shower,' he elaborated. In response, Gomez playfully raised the question cards to cover her face. 'And then I cry about it a little bit, and then it goes away, and then I feel great because I'm … the warm water.'
Before diving further into his shower musings, Blanco cut himself off, wrapping things up with, "OK, next question."
Blanco's shower discussion with Interview magazine comes months after he first opened up about his bathing habits in PEOPLE's 2024 Sexiest Man Alive issue. Sharing his own philosophies about self-care, the producer told PEOPLE in the November issue, 'Don't stink. Do all the stuff.'
Blanco also told the outlet that he does not 'believe in always shampooing" (or conditioning) his hair. 'I'm really clean, but I don't shower every day,' he said at the time. 'Some people I know shower two to three times a day, but I feel like the oils on your skin don't have time to rejuvenate and get juicy.'
As for his preferred scent, post-shower or otherwise, the producer said he likes 'to use a hodgepodge.'
'I want to smell [like] tobacco, but also like cotton candy. I want there to be an aroma as I'm walking by,' he explained. 'I want it to smell a little bit like man, a little bit feminine. I definitely lean a little more feminine in every sense.'
Gomez and Blanco are making a major move (literally). The couple recently purchased a stunning Spanish-style estate in Beverly Hills, taking their relationship to the next level with a jaw-dropping new home.
According to TMZ, Gomez and Blanco sealed the deal on the lavish mansion in December, spending a staggering $35 million to secure the property. The sprawling residence features seven bedrooms and twelve bathrooms, offering plenty of space for the pair to settle in.
Beyond its luxurious living quarters, the estate boasts resort-like amenities, including a grand swirling staircase, a library, and a glass greenhouse solarium. The property also includes a private gym and a swimming pool, making it the ultimate oasis for relaxation and entertainment.
Adding to its allure, the mansion comes with a significant Hollywood pedigree.
Prior to Gomez and Blanco's purchase, the estate was previously owned by a major Hollywood director, further elevating its prestige.
Their multi-million-dollar deal stands as one of the priciest real estate transactions in Beverly Hills for 2024, placing them among the city's elite homeowners. But for Gomez, who recently reached billionaire status thanks to the immense success of her beauty brand, Rare Beauty, this purchase is just another lavish addition to her impressive collection of assets.

Molly Gordon kidnaps Logan Lerman in ‘Oh, Hi!' trailer. Fans are still on her side.

The new movie Oh, Hi!, which just dropped a trailer that suggests that Misery really could have been a romantic comedy with the right approach. It's a classic tale: Girl meets boy. Boy invites girl on their first weekend away as a couple. Girl playfully ties boy to the bed … only for him to inform her, while he's still handcuffed, that he's actually not looking for a relationship right now. Naturally, girl never gets those handcuff keys, and boy remains tied to the bed. Yikes! Oh, Hi!, which debuted earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, is directed by Sophie Brooks and co-written by The Bear's Molly Gordon. It stars Gordon as Iris, a girl who completely misinterpreted her situationship's intentions on their weekend getaway. Logan Lerman, meanwhile, plays the commitment-phobic Isaac, who Iris believed was her boyfriend. But Iris isn't an idiot: He took her on this trip! He made her scallops! If all that evidence wasn't proof the two were on the road to love, she's not sure what is. And with Isaac still handcuffed after their whole 'what are we?!' conversation went horribly awry, she has a plan: She'll do whatever she can to make him want to take the next step in their relationship — as long as he doesn't find a way to call the police first. While the movie doesn't exactly frame Iris as of sound mind here, people who watched the movie trailer really seem to get her plight. Sure, many people in the comments section on YouTube pointed to Iris's deranged behavior, which some said would have been interpreted much more negatively had the gender roles been reversed. However, others totally understood where Iris is coming from: 'The way that this made me feel valid for my situationship telling me he wasn't ready for a relationship after being super romantic with me and feeling like I was going insane,' one person wrote in the YouTube comments. Meanwhile, on TikTok, there were lots of Iris sympathizers. One called her reaction a 'rational response, [to be honest]' while another said that they 'support women's rights and wrongs' before adding, 'but idk she may be right.' 'Totally get where she's coming from,' one commenter declared, while another admitted, 'I'd crash out too if Logan Lerman said that to me.' 'Sending this to everyone i've ever had a situationship with thanks,' one joked, while another said they were just 'one more situationship' away from becoming Iris. It's a perspective Gordon and Brooks understand. In an interview with Deadline earlier this year, Gordon spoke about how the idea for the film came about after she and Brooks both went through breakups. 'We kind of wanted to make something about the communication breakdown of our generation,' Gordon explained. 'I mean, it's always been ridiculously hard to date, but we do feel like it might be the hardest that it's ever been, and we just wanted to kind of poke fun at all the funny experiences that we've had and our friends have had.' In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Brooks said of the film: 'I think a lot of things in our culture about women pursuing love and wanting love become desperate or sad or embarrassing, and it's romantic for a man to be pursuing love and wanting a partner, and it's sad and desperate for a woman to want it. I really push against that. Part of being a human is wanting connection and I think it was exciting for us to kind of lean into some tropes that we thought were funny and absurd. Molly and I talk about how this movie is — If we were 10% crazy, what would we do?' Whether Iris is 10% crazy or a bit larger of a percentage is up for audiences to decide, of course — and how she gets out of the situation with Isaac, ideally alive, is anyone's guess. Oh, Hi! hits theaters on July 25.

Taylor Swift Gets Restraining Order For Alleged Stalker

Hot Topic 🔥 Full coverage and conversation on Taylor Swift Taylor Swift was granted a temporary restraining order Monday against Brian Jason Wagner, a 45-year-old Colorado man who has allegedly visited her home several times and claimed she is the mother of his child, per court documents reviewed by Billboard. The order was signed by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Debra R. Archuleta and reportedly requires Wagner to stay at least 100 yards away from Swift and her home. It is set to expire with a June 30 hearing about a potentially more permanent restraining order. Swift wrote in her petition Friday that Wagner first visited her Los Angeles residence on July 9, 2024, and returned at least twice that month. The Grammy winner further noted that she doesn't publicly share her address and never gave it to Wagner. 'Therefore, the fact that Mr. Wagner has determined where I reside and visited the property several times, refusing to leave and claiming to need access, makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family,' she wrote in the petition reviewed by Billboard. Swift said he once arrived 'carrying a glass bottle that could have been used as a weapon.' 'During each of these visits, I am informed that Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person,' she added in her filing. Swift's legal proceedings were only launched after two more visits from Wagner last month, however, when her staff ran a background check and learned he had a criminal record and had claimed in 'lengthy communications' from jail that he was in a relationship with Swift. Wagner allegedly even illegally obtained a California driver's license listing Swift's address as his own. The singer, who unfortunately has a lot of experience with stalkers, described his claims as 'disconnected from reality' in her filing. In 2017, 29-year-old Mohammed Jaffar entered Swift's apartment building in New York City after harassing her management company, fawning over Swift on social media and describing her security guard as a 'gatekeeper,' The Guardian reported at the time. In 2018, 22-year-old Roger Alvarado broke in and used her shower before taking a nap in Swift's bed. Later that year, another man reportedly traveled more than 1,000 miles to her Los Angeles home with ammunition, a knife, rope and gloves in his car. Swift has used facial-recognition technology to identify potential stalkers at her concerts. The singer, who recently triumphed in a yearslong fight to reclaim the rights to her first six albums, wrapped her Eras Tour in December. The effort became the highest-grossing tour of all time, and the first to earn more than $1 billion — and $2 billion — in revenue.

Owner Wondered How Dog Was Escaping—Video Finally Provides the Answer

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A viral video revealing a sneaky dog's escape route left viewers in stitches. A pet parent known on TikTok as @_mel_2025 couldn't understand how his Staffordshire bull terrier kept escaping from the yard. With a tall, fenced-in yard, he thought there was no way his dog could jump it. But after finally capturing the escape route on film, the owner was stunned. In the June 2 TikTok video, the owner watched his dog from inside. The staff ran up to the fence door before slowly backing away. He quickly looked around to make sure no one was watching. Once he thought he was in the clear, he sprinted to the door, but once again, he retreated as it wasn't quite right. He recalculated his steps, confirming it was the perfect amount to get full speed, and then he was off. In one swift leap, his front paws managed to reach the top of the gate. His strength pulled him the rest of the way with his back paws pushing for assistance. Then, he was off to freedom on the other side. Newsweek reached out to @_mel_2025 via TikTok for additional information. @_mel_2025 It's the walk back and thinking about his jump 👀🫣😅 Fyp Follow me for more content ♬ Mission Impossible - Adam Clayton The owner isn't surprised by his staffy's escape as it has happened multiple times before. He was never sure if the dog used to shed to help climb over. The door used to have diagonal braces on it, but the dog chewed through that several years ago, the owner wrote in a comment. The dog's impressive escape tactic took the internet by storm, surpassing over 1.4 million views and 75,900 likes on TikTok as of Tuesday. "Way he goes in, then goes back again for a better run up. That had me," said one viewer, while another added: "Pacing out the required number of steps is very impressive." A third person joked: "Lad looks like he's been doing pull-ups to prepare for the escape." Others suggested that the owner get a bigger fence to prevent this from happening again, to which he replied that he was already "in the process." He is waiting for fencing supplies to be delivered. Plus, he's looking into purchasing fence toppers, such as cat-proof rollers, that curve in toward the yard, making it, hopefully, impossible to get out.
