Things got sticky for a moment, but Michigan State baseball will be making the trip to Omaha, playing in the 2025 Big Ten Tournament.
Michigan State entered the weekend against Minnesota needing to take care of business, holding off Northwestern to keep themselves inside of the top 12 in the Big Ten's standings. After MSU dropped the first two games of the weekend, and Northwestern split the first two with UCLA, it all came down to Saturday's games.

In the Spartans affair with the Golden Gophers, Michigan State won a thriller behind Randy Seymour's walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, taking an 11-10 victory. Following the win, it was time for the Spartans to lock into Northwestern's affair with UCLA, needing the Wildcats to lose to get their ticket to Omaha.
During that game, UCLA took care of business, run-ruling Northwestern, 11-1 in seven innings The Wildcats loss punches Michigan State's ticket into the Big Ten Tournament, securing them the No. 12 seed.
As the No. 12 seed, Michigan State will lock up with the No. 1 and No. 8 seeds in the round robin portion of the Big Ten Tournament, playing for their spot in the Big Ten semifinals.
The Spartans found out about the news when they were celebrating their senior banquet.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Jacob Wilson had three hits and two RBIs, Brent Rooker drove in the tiebreaking run and the Athletics beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 on Friday night. Mason Miller got the last five outs to get his 13th save as the Athletics got back-to-back wins for the first time since May 4-5 and ended the Orioles' six-game win streak. Miller struck out two after coming in with one out and the bases loaded in the eighth inning. He then struck out Adley Rutschman looking on three pitches to begin the ninth before walking Ramón Laureano on a full count. Ryan O'Hearn flied out to left and Ramón Urías hit a comebacker to end it. Dylan Carlson hit his third homer — a two-run shot in the second off JP Sears to give Baltimore the lead. Jackson Holliday doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ramón Laureano to make it 3-0 in the third. The Athletics scored four runs to take the lead in the bottom of the third against Dean Kremer. Lawrence Butler drove in the first run with his 20th double, Wilson had a two-run single, and Tyler Soderstrom put the A's ahead with a run-scoring grounder. Holliday hit his eighth homer — a solo shot leading off the fifth — to tie it. He finished a triple shy of the cycle. Butler, Wilson and Rooker had three straight singles in the bottom of the fifth to give the Athletics a 5-4 lead. Sears (5-5) gave up four runs and four hits in five innings. Kremer (5-6) allowed five runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings. Denzel Clarke left the game after he crashed into the wall in center running full speed to make a catch in the fifth for the A's. Miller struck out pinch-hitter Heston Kjerstad on three pitches with the bases loaded in the eighth and Holliday on a four-seamer that hit 103.1 mph. The Athletics have a 5.79 team ERA — the worst in the majors — and the Orioles' 5.10 is the third-worst. (AP) — Caden Bodine hit a go-ahead homer in the 10th inning, his second long ball of the game, Blagen Pado also homered twice, and Coastal Carolina opened the Auburn Super Regional with a 7-6 victory over the host Tigers in a contest that ended early Saturday morning. The game was delayed for nearly two hours in the middle of the sixth inning due to weather, with Coastal Carolina leading 6-3. Advertisement When play resumed, Auburn scored an unearned run in the sixth to get within 6-4. Eric Snow tied it at 6 with a solo shot over the giant War Eagle Wall in left field in a two-run seventh. Auburn had two on with no outs in the ninth, but Matthew Potok got out of the jam with a strikeout and double play.
