A festive new Starbucks Frappuccino joins the summer menu—but you can only get it this week

Time Out01-07-2025
Getting ready for 4th of July festivities? The long holiday weekend is just around the corner, and celebration prep is in full swing. When you head out for your grilling supplies, don't forget about your thirst: just in time for the Fourth of July, Starbucks is serving up a festive, limited-edition Frappuccino that looks like a firecracker and tastes like summer.
Meet the Firework Frappuccino, a layered, berry-loaded treat that's only on the menu for one week—from Tuesday, July 1 to Monday, July 7—at Starbucks locations around the country (while supplies last).
This colorful blended drink hits the Independence Day trifecta with red, white and blue layers that look like they're straight out of a fireworks show. It's a visually patriotic vibe, but this cool bev delivers on flavor, too. Starbucks starts with its tangy Summer-Berry Refresher and blends it with creamy coconut milk for a smooth, slightly tropical base. It's then poured over raspberry-flavored pearls that burst with a juicy surprise in every sip. A bold swirl of strawberry purée adds that classic firecracker red, while vanilla sweet cream cold foam gives it a silky white cloud on top. The result? A refreshing, tangy-sweet sipper that's fruity, creamy and totally summer-ready.
Whether you're hitting the beach, heading to a BBQ or just trying to cool off in the heat, the Firework Frappuccino has serious summer energy that will keep you going. It's cold, it's vibrant and it's got just enough berry kick to keep you coming back for more.
Like a good fireworks show, however, this treat won't last long. So, if you're craving something cool and festive to toast Independence Day, now's the time. Get it before it's gone—because nothing says "summer" quite like a brain freeze in red, white and blue.

UFC chief Dana White reveals date of the first proposed MMA fight at the White House

Dana White has revealed the date of the anticipated UFC card on the White House lawn, July 4, 2026, which will line up with the 250th birthday for the United States. The UFC President confirmed the date of the White House fight card on Tuesday, one day after the company's historic deal with Paramount was announced. With the new home for the leading mixed martial arts promotion in tow, White simultaneously announced the Independence Day brawls will air live on CBS. 'It is definitely gonna happen,' White said. 'I talked to him last night, him being the president, and I'm flying out there at the end of this month and I'm going to sit down and walk him through all the plans and the renderings. 'We're going to start deciding what he wants and doesn't want. But yeah, it's definitely going to happen.' Trump first announced his intentions to host the UFC at the White House for America's 250th birthday last month as part of his celebrations for Congress passing his 'Big Beautiful Bill'. — Videosareforever99 (@videosaregood) August 12, 2025 The announcement drew plenty of criticism to mix barbarism with patriotism and also support from some in the MMA community. UFC legend Jon Jones made a stunning U-turn on his retirement from fighting after the White House announcement was made, claiming he has re-entered the company's drug-testing pool. In June, White announced Jones would not defend his heavyweight championship and had retired, coming as a major disappointment to fans amid demand for a heavyweight title showdown with Britain's Tom Aspinall. Now, Jones claims he has taken a huge step towards a comeback after re-entering the testing pool - though it remains to be seen whether that is definitely the case - while also hinting that he could return on a potential card at the White House. Jones' status of getting back into the Octagon has not been cleared up in the weeks since. 'Fighting at the White House?' Jones posted on X. 'Just re-entered the testing pool, that lasted for about two weeks. Figured we'd keep everyone's options open.' It was at a UFC card at Madison Square Garden where Jones last fought, a knockout victory over Stipe Miocic last November, where he celebrated the victory with Trump after mimicking his signature dance.

Love Forever: Oasis fan proposes to stunned girlfriend during Murrayfield show

Oasis's opening night at Murrayfield was a magical night for thousands, but it was even more special for two Scots who got engaged. Dwayne Yuill shocked his girlfriend, Shell Hodge, when he got down on one knee during their favourite Oasis song at the band's first comeback gig in Scotland on Friday. The moment was captured on camera, which was all part of the 38-year-old's plan. 'Obviously, we got to the venue and Shell had no idea what was going to happen, so I told one of the stewards when I was going to propose and asked if they could capture it for us,' he told STV News. Shell Hodge Dwayne Yuill and Shell Hodge during the show at Murrayfield. The couple, from Dundee, got tickets for the band's first Scottish show in over 16 years to celebrate Shell's 40th birthday, but she had no idea what else Dwayne had planned. 'I had no idea, I thought he was acting a little bit shifty, he kept touching his pocket, and I was wondering what he was doing, and I obviously know now,' Shell said. Despite the plan being executed to perfection, Dwayne said he didn't plan for how much their proposal has blown up online. Shell Hodge The couple have been together for six years. 'We were in Starbucks and our phones just started blowing up with tags, so we had a mad dash to tell our family before they saw it online,' Shell said. The pair, who share a daughter and have four children from previous relationships, said they have both always had a special connection to Oasis. Shell has been a fan from a young age, and Dwayne was introduced to the band by his late brother. Dwayne added that it felt like his brother was with him, watching down on him during the night as he geared up to pop the question. As for choosing the perfect song, Dwayne said it was the lyrics that made him propose during Slide Away. 'We've had a lot of good memories to that song, and it's one we're always singing in the car,' Shell added. Dwayne added that choosing the song meant he had to wait until Oasis decided to play it. 'I was more nervous the closer I got, I didn't have the set this so I was just waiting for it to come on, and I didn't know when it was going to be coming,' he said. 'When the song was over and the proposal was done, I felt like I could relax.' While the couple has yet to start wedding planning, they both know what the first dance song will be. 'I think people will be disappointed at this point if we don't have Slide Away as our first dance song,' Shell added. 'Bucket hats will be compulsory on the big day.' We asked a deliciously savage barista to rank celeb coffee orders you're copying

For many of us, caffeine is a lifeline, helping us face early starts or back-to-back meetings. Like a miracle in a mug, a hot cup of coffee can give us the boost we need to power through the day. And for celebrities, it's no different. Whether they're juggling long hours on set or non-stop promo tours, plenty of stars rely on a caffeine fix to keep going. Take Pedro Pascal, for example. He went viral last year for his (quite frankly, chaotic) Starbucks order: six espresso shots over ice. The Internet's daddy and his naughty little knees were clearly running on more than charm. But do celebs actually influence how the rest of us take our coffee? According to Sonali Saujani, former barista and co-founder of C ustom Barista Equipment, the answer is yes. Speaking on behalf of Coffee Friend , she tells Metro: 'The biggest trend I'm seeing in the UK right now is matcha; it's the drink to order. We're even seeing dedicated matcha bars popping up. I think a lot of that comes down to celebrity fans like Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid. 'Celebs have a huge influence. While I've never had someone walk in and say they want a drink because a celeb orders it, it's clear they help set trends. Especially when it goes viral on social media.' It also turns out that, in celeb-land, ordering off-menu is the norm. But Sonali says you don't need an A-lister's status to tweak your order. 'Baristas don't usually mind off-menu orders, just be polite! Especially if they don't have all the ingredients. A good barista is often just excited to show off their latte art… as long as you don't stir it before admiring it!' Inspired by Pedro, we took a closer look at the world of celebrity coffee orders and asked Sonali whether it's a brew-tiful choice or if it leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. Because celebrities may hold influence, but that doesn't mean their taste is always on point… Coffee order: Quad espresso in a Venti cup with extra ice and six shots Rating: 1/10 The internet daddy couldn't hide his wild coffee order from the world. Eagle-eyed fans zoomed in on his Starbucks receipt and found the Last of Us star ordered SIX shots of espresso. Just how much of an energy boost did he need? 'This order confuses me,' Sonali admits. 'Even if you love coffee, six shots with no sweetener or milk would pack a serious punch. I mean, I know Pedro Pascal is working overtime in a lot of people's minds, but that's a serious amount of caffeine right there!' Coffee order: Grande dark red eye Rating: 6/10 A former barista dished on Reddit about the celebs they had served, and revealed that the star's order is just as extreme as his X-Men workout regime. 'A grande dark red eye is a drip coffee with an espresso shot added in,' Sonali explains. 'He's basically ordering a coffee with extra coffee. A good barista can make this a nice drink, which is why I gave it a 6/10, but it will be strong, and if the coffee is not great quality, it can just taste very bitter.' Coffee order: Venti hot mocha with whipped cream Rating: 8/10 Sonali says: 'I give this order a high rating as it's a delicious choice for someone with a sweet tooth. But if this is your go-to order, I don't believe you like coffee. This order says to me that Lana is just ordering a hot chocolate with a bit of caffeine. 'I firmly believe that anyone who drinks a mocha is still a child at heart, so maybe this displays the softer side to Lana. It's not a healthy drink but it is a fun one.' Coffee order: Hot, tall white chocolate mocha with whipped cream Rating: 7/10 Kim left no questions over her coffee order, revealing to fans what she orders from Starbucks during a Q&A on X. 'For someone so health-conscious, Kim's order shocked me,' Sonali admits. 'This is a calorific drink and super sweet. You'll need to drink a tall glass of water after this. But if you're a sweet tooth, it's not a bad shout. Depends on what you want from your hot drink.' Coffee order: Black coffee with 14 Splendas Rating: -5/10 Clearly Chris Pratt has a sweet tooth, as the Guardians of the Galaxy star revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that his go-to Starbucks order is a black coffee with 14 Splendas. Yep, 14. 'That's giving 'I'm healthy because I don't consume sugar, and I pretend to like coffee, but I actually find it so bitter I need to add all the sweetener in the world to it',' Sonali insists. 'This order would make me roll my eyes! On the outside, it looks like a healthy drink, but sweeteners can be so bad for you, and Splenda is known for being sweeter than sugar! Add a couple of Splendas, sure, but 14? That's far too much.' Coffee order: Grande caramel nonfat latte Rating: 10/10 The singing sensation revealed her favourite drink to order when she previously teamed up with Starbucks, and Sonali firmly approved. 'Our simple, yet effective Queen! This order doesn't surprise me in the slightest because while Taylor has the most complex of sets on her Eras Tour, she's a simple woman at heart. Caffeine, check! Taste, check!' Coffee order: Triple grande skim wet cappuccino Rating: 7/10 A former LA barista dished on his celeb clients, and revealed that the actress takes her coffee seriously. While 'dry' might sound unusual, in coffee terms it simply means less foam. According to Sonali, the drink tastes great, but the order itself is overly complicated. 'She could just order a triple-shot flat white and be done with it,' Sonali says. 'A cappuccino is basically the same, just with less foam. But at least she's drinking a proper coffee, and not disguising the flavour with tons of sweeteners.' Coffee order: Venti iced matcha green tea latte with coconut milk More Trending Rating: 8/10 A former barista revealed on X that she had served the actress this very order, and Sonali says it's a great balance of flavours. View More » 'This isn't a coffee,' she explains. 'But matcha is a big trend, and coconut milk would help add sweetness to level out the bitterness of matcha. This would be simple, but effective.'
