We asked a deliciously savage barista to rank celeb coffee orders you're copying
And for celebrities, it's no different. Whether they're juggling long hours on set or non-stop promo tours, plenty of stars rely on a caffeine fix to keep going.
Take Pedro Pascal, for example. He went viral last year for his (quite frankly, chaotic) Starbucks order: six espresso shots over ice. The Internet's daddy and his naughty little knees were clearly running on more than charm.
But do celebs actually influence how the rest of us take our coffee?
According to Sonali Saujani, former barista and co-founder of C ustom Barista Equipment, the answer is yes. Speaking on behalf of Coffee Friend , she tells Metro: 'The biggest trend I'm seeing in the UK right now is matcha; it's the drink to order. We're even seeing dedicated matcha bars popping up. I think a lot of that comes down to celebrity fans like Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid.
'Celebs have a huge influence. While I've never had someone walk in and say they want a drink because a celeb orders it, it's clear they help set trends. Especially when it goes viral on social media.'
It also turns out that, in celeb-land, ordering off-menu is the norm. But Sonali says you don't need an A-lister's status to tweak your order.
'Baristas don't usually mind off-menu orders, just be polite! Especially if they don't have all the ingredients. A good barista is often just excited to show off their latte art… as long as you don't stir it before admiring it!'
Inspired by Pedro, we took a closer look at the world of celebrity coffee orders and asked Sonali whether it's a brew-tiful choice or if it leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. Because celebrities may hold influence, but that doesn't mean their taste is always on point…
Coffee order: Quad espresso in a Venti cup with extra ice and six shots
Rating: 1/10
The internet daddy couldn't hide his wild coffee order from the world. Eagle-eyed fans zoomed in on his Starbucks receipt and found the Last of Us star ordered SIX shots of espresso. Just how much of an energy boost did he need?
'This order confuses me,' Sonali admits. 'Even if you love coffee, six shots with no sweetener or milk would pack a serious punch. I mean, I know Pedro Pascal is working overtime in a lot of people's minds, but that's a serious amount of caffeine right there!'
Coffee order: Grande dark red eye
Rating: 6/10
A former barista dished on Reddit about the celebs they had served, and revealed that the star's order is just as extreme as his X-Men workout regime.
'A grande dark red eye is a drip coffee with an espresso shot added in,' Sonali explains. 'He's basically ordering a coffee with extra coffee. A good barista can make this a nice drink, which is why I gave it a 6/10, but it will be strong, and if the coffee is not great quality, it can just taste very bitter.'
Coffee order: Venti hot mocha with whipped cream
Rating: 8/10
Sonali says: 'I give this order a high rating as it's a delicious choice for someone with a sweet tooth. But if this is your go-to order, I don't believe you like coffee. This order says to me that Lana is just ordering a hot chocolate with a bit of caffeine.
'I firmly believe that anyone who drinks a mocha is still a child at heart, so maybe this displays the softer side to Lana. It's not a healthy drink but it is a fun one.'
Coffee order: Hot, tall white chocolate mocha with whipped cream
Rating: 7/10
Kim left no questions over her coffee order, revealing to fans what she orders from Starbucks during a Q&A on X.
'For someone so health-conscious, Kim's order shocked me,' Sonali admits. 'This is a calorific drink and super sweet. You'll need to drink a tall glass of water after this. But if you're a sweet tooth, it's not a bad shout. Depends on what you want from your hot drink.'
Coffee order: Black coffee with 14 Splendas
Rating: -5/10
Clearly Chris Pratt has a sweet tooth, as the Guardians of the Galaxy star revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that his go-to Starbucks order is a black coffee with 14 Splendas. Yep, 14.
'That's giving 'I'm healthy because I don't consume sugar, and I pretend to like coffee, but I actually find it so bitter I need to add all the sweetener in the world to it',' Sonali insists.
'This order would make me roll my eyes! On the outside, it looks like a healthy drink, but sweeteners can be so bad for you, and Splenda is known for being sweeter than sugar! Add a couple of Splendas, sure, but 14? That's far too much.'
Coffee order: Grande caramel nonfat latte
Rating: 10/10
The singing sensation revealed her favourite drink to order when she previously teamed up with Starbucks, and Sonali firmly approved.
'Our simple, yet effective Queen! This order doesn't surprise me in the slightest because while Taylor has the most complex of sets on her Eras Tour, she's a simple woman at heart. Caffeine, check! Taste, check!'
Coffee order: Triple grande skim wet cappuccino
Rating: 7/10
A former LA barista dished on his celeb clients, and revealed that the actress takes her coffee seriously. While 'dry' might sound unusual, in coffee terms it simply means less foam.
According to Sonali, the drink tastes great, but the order itself is overly complicated.
'She could just order a triple-shot flat white and be done with it,' Sonali says. 'A cappuccino is basically the same, just with less foam. But at least she's drinking a proper coffee, and not disguising the flavour with tons of sweeteners.'
Coffee order: Venti iced matcha green tea latte with coconut milk More Trending
Rating: 8/10
A former barista revealed on X that she had served the actress this very order, and Sonali says it's a great balance of flavours.

'This isn't a coffee,' she explains. 'But matcha is a big trend, and coconut milk would help add sweetness to level out the bitterness of matcha. This would be simple, but effective.'

If you don't kiss your partner like Anthony Mackie, you're doing it wrong
Anthony Mackie has been spotted on the streets of Notting Hill with his hands on a mystery woman's bum – holding on tighter than a Marvel spandex suit clinging to Captain America's glutes. The actor seems to be enjoying his time as a visitor in the British capital – though it's not a cheeky Nandos or kebab he's got his mouth on, and he's unlikely to be seeing many landmarks with his eyes closed. The identity of the woman with whom Mackie was spotted in a passionate makeout on the street remains a mystery, but judging by their giggly, steamy back-and-forth, it's safe to say they've met before. She looks decidedly younger than 46-year-old Mackie, but given that the Dior saddle bag she's wearing in the pictures is worth just over £3,000, it's unlikely she's in London for a low-paid grad scheme or pouring pints at a Spoons. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star is currently in London filming Marvel's much-hyped Avengers: Doomsday, which raises the question: Is the mystery blonde part of the production? A new co-star? Or just someone who happened to be in the vicinity and decided to give a whole new meaning to the concept of 'grabbing a Mackies' at the end of the night? This comes seven years after Mackie's divorce from Sheletta Chapital, with whom he shares four sons, in 2018. Since then, his dating life has been quieter than Hawkeye's solo box office numbers – making these new photos instant online currency. And the internet, as ever, has plenty of opinions. On Reddit, Agpearlstudios wrote: 'It's giving the drunk kiss I shared with some rando outside my college bar.' Dosgatitas was less nostalgic: 'Ew I can't unsee this!' And Hannahspants simply begged for mercy: 'Stop this is foul 😭' One user, Leading_Put-, nailed it: 'It's not one of them cinematic kisses..' Well, no, it's not cinematic. And that's a good thing, contrary to what Reddit would have you believe. We live in a world where porn creates unrealistic images of what sexuality should look like, Instagram kisses are filtered, and intimacy has been algorithmically sanitised. A good, real-life snog? It's supposed to be clumsy, overzealous, and just a touch horrifying to witness. And for God's sake, use your tongue! It's clear that Mackie knows we didn't survive the pandemic just for you to be stingy with your saliva. Honestly, the online reaction says more about us than it does about Mackie, because we may be witnessing something tragic: The slow extinction of the sloppy public makeout. There's nothing like a few drinks, a bit of flirty craic in a sticky booth, and the sheer animal urge to shove your tongue down someone's throat in a weirdly lit alleyway, smelly stairwell, or the guest bathroom of a friend-of-a-friend's house party. More Trending A messy snog is one of life's great joys, and we mustn't shame them. And look at that flirty little face Mackie is making at his mystery blonde! Sure, it looks cringey to us in the harsh fluorescent lights of our cubicles or when we scroll past it on our way to stalk our exes on Instagram, but in the context of the moment, you can bet she felt like the summer air in London was imbued with magic specifically for her. From the photos, this wasn't some 'look how hot we are' staged moment. It was full immersion: giggles, murmurs, forehead presses, and the kind of body contact that ignores camera angles and focuses entirely on surface area. Bottom line: If you're not kissing your partner like Anthony Mackie, you're doing it wrong. It's time to drop the Instagram pout and rediscover the unphotogenic magic of the proper, unapologetic snog. Got a story? Dakota Johnson's new movie takes on the ruthless world of New York Dating - but it's not your average rom-com?
Materialists Cert: 15, 1hr 56mins Matthew Bond review - Mail On Sunday Rating: The first film that screenwriter Celine Song directed as well as wrote was the delightful Past Lives (2023), which explored the choices we make in life, particularly when it comes to relationships. It earned her an Oscar nomination, critical acclaim and, for an arthouse film, commercial success. Her follow-up, Materialists, is an altogether bigger affair with a cast led by Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans and explores similar territory only without the magic and gentle spirituality of its predecessor. That's because it's set in the ruthless world of New York dating. Johnson plays Lucy, a successful senior executive at an agency that looks down its nose at apps and still believes in the old-fashioned art of match-making, at least for those who can afford it. Its demanding clients are not so much looking for love as wealth, good looks and compatible levels of education. For women, the height of a prospective husband is everything while, for men I'm afraid it's still youth. But Lucy knows it's more complicated than that, which is why she's already on her ninth successfully arranged wedding. So why is she herself still single, despite being magnificently courted by the absurdly eligible Harry (Pascal) while being shambolically pursued by her handsome but impoverished actor ex-boyfriend, John (Evans)? Song's screenplay is smart, insightful and funny, albeit in a familiar Sex And The City kind of way. So it's probably a good thing it's also bleak, cynical and occasionally depressing, at least for balance. Johnson is excellent, the ubiquitous Pascal as charming as ever and Evans just a little bit too good to be true. Materialists lacks the emotional depth of Past Lives but it's well-made, watchable and will make you think. And possibly hope, too. Laruskha Ivan-Zadeh - Daily Mail review Rating: Do soul mates exist? That question unites the week's two biggest releases, which answer it in two, very different ways. Materialists is a movie about beautiful people chasing the perfect partner. Lucy (Dakota Johnson) reckons she's got it all worked out. She's a professional matchmaker in Manhattan, responsible for nine weddings and counting, who firmly believes that 'Marriage is a business deal, and always has been, since time eternal.' Commitment is not about love, it's about currency, market forces and 'math', with Lucy's personal 'non-negotiable' being that, as well as being tall and handsome with a full head of hair (be warned, this movie is not an ego-boost for shorter, bald men), her future husband will be eye-wateringly rich. Enter hunk-of-the-moment Pedro Pascal, a tall, handsome, hirsute moneybags with a $12million penthouse in Tribeca. However, this being a (sort of) romcom, also re-enter Lucy's ex, John (Chris Evans), a tall, handsome struggling theatre actor, with a head full of hair, but empty coffers, who Lucy broke up with because he was, er, broke. So, who will win her hand? The answer isn't as obvious as might first appear. Because this isn't cheese puff Hollywood escapism of the glossy sort that Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey popped out in the 2000s – it is the 'difficult' second feature from writer /director Celine Song, whose wistful romance Past Lives was arguably the finest film of 2023. Materialists is similarly based on authentic lived experience. Song worked as a matchmaker when she first came to New York, and her script here poses interesting questions most of us can relate to about the balance sheet between romance and rationalism. Bottom line: are you really going to make it long term with someone of different background and values, particularly if you always end up squabbling about money? Unfortunately, the Materialists' parts are better than its whole. Excellent and effortless as the three leads are, their dialogue can feel forced. Sometimes it's deliberate, like when Pascal's smoothy-chops woos Lucy with the line: 'I want to be with you for your immaterial assets.' But other times not. It is occasionally very witty and well-observed. Song has set out to deconstruct the romcom, but the way she reconstructs it proves kind of disappointing. As we wait to find out if love conquers all, you will likely feel unconvinced by where the happy ending lies.

Netflix fans can't get over Wednesday star Hunter Doohan's age after risqué scenes
The second instalment of Netflix's smash hit series Wednesday dropped earlier this month, with Jenna Ortega returning in the lead role. Her co-star Hunter Doohan's age has raised a few eyebrows Netflix fans are in awe after learning Wednesday star Hunter Doohan's age following risqué scenes in the second season which see him mostly shirtless. The first half of the latest instalment of the phenomenally popular horror comedy series landed on the streaming platform on August 6, with many fans having already binged it. The second half is expected to hit Netflix on September 3 and, much to many fans' delight, the show has already been renewed for a third season. Fronted by the perfectly cast Jenna Ortega in the titular role, the series follows Wednesday Addams' adventures at the gothic Nevermore Academy alongside a host of magical and mythical outcasts, each boasting quirky or fantastical powers. This sees Wednesday in a setting with peers more likely to understand and accept her morbid and macabre nature, instead of her being the odd one out like past iterations of the character. The first series followed a string of grisly murders, with Wednesday keen to identify the killer before learning her love interest, barista Tyler Galpin - played by Hunter Doohan - is behind them. Tyler has returned in the second season and, though it's assumed he's around the same age as schoolgirl Wednesday, many fans have been stunned to learn the actor is in his thirties. Hunter Doohan was born in 1994 and had a string of jobs while trying to make it as an actor in Los Angeles. The star's breakthrough role came in 2019, where he played the younger version of Aaron Paul's character in the first season of Apple TV+'s Truth Be Told. In 2020, he starred opposite Paul's Breaking Bad co-star and friend, Bryan Cranston, in the drama series, Your Honor. His youthful appearance - and his muscular physique - in the second series of Wednesday has gained attention on social media. On Reddit, one person shared a shirtless picture of the actor and simply penned: 'Can we please talk about Hunter Doohan in the new season of Wednesday?' In the comments section, one Netflix fan asked: 'How old is he?' Another replied: 'I know he looks so young, but is 31 years old and he is married to his husband for 3 years!!' A third said: 'I genuinely looked up his age before I allowed myself to thirst! He looks AMAZING in this season of Wednesday.' In another post about his age, one person said: 'Thirty?! Never would have guessed,' while another agreed: 'I never would have imagined him being 30." In response to the shirtless photo of him, another Reddit user said: 'I wasn't interested in the new season until now lol." And another said: 'Just watched this scene and whistled out loud when I saw him shirtless." Someone else confessed: 'I was waiting for the whole season to be out to binge it... now not sure I [can] wait.' Another added: 'This one scene made me lose focus in my work.'
