Blake Shelton Addresses 2025 AMAs TikTok Theories

Cosmopolitan2 days ago

The 2025 American Music Awards went down on Monday night, and featured performances from Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Rod Stewart, Benson Boone, Gloria Estefan, Reneé Rapp, Alex Warren, and Lainey Wilson. Not to mention Blake Shelton (who made his AMAs performance debut with "Stay Country or Die Tryin") and Gwen Stefani (who sang "The Sweet Escape," along with "Hollaback Girl" and "Swallow My Tears").
However, some fans were convinced that Blake and Gwen had pre-taped their performances and weren't actually in attendance due to their sets being broadcast on a giant screen during the show.
"The craziest part of the AMAS last night was being told 'and here's Blake Shelton live' only for them to light up the stage like he's there and never saying to us it was prerecorded," one fan wrote on TikTok. "THEN, doing the same thing with Gwen Stefani!"
The speculation about Blake and Gwen's performance was covered by Rolling Stone, and apparently Blake saw all the chatter because he hopped on Twitter to clear things up. "Just now seeing these stories about Gwen and I pretaping our performances for the AMA's," Blake wrote on Twitter. "We came and performed when the show asked us to.. Really nothing else to say."
Welp. That's that on that!

"We Simply Do Not Care Anymore": Women Over 40 Are Sharing Things They're Fed Up With At This Point

If you have not ridden the rollercoaster known as perimenopause, congrats. Ditto if you're one of the lucky ones who can say it was "not that bad." But for many women, the years leading up to menopause can bring with them hot flashes, insomnia, vertigo, vaginal dryness, joint pain, and a host of other "fun" surprises. It's like a second puberty, but there's no Judy Blume book for this. So when I, a frequent flyer on Hot Flash Airlines, came across Melani (@justbeingmelani) on TikTok, it was like a breath of fresh air. Melani is the founder of the "We Do Not Care Club," a group for women in perimenopause and menopause. In the comments of her daily videos, women share things that we simply do not care about today. Then, the next day, Melani reads them back to the club, and commenters add new submissions. Here are some of my personal favorite "We Do Not Care Club" submissions that made me laugh and nod my head "yes" so hard I got a neck ache: 1."I don't care that I have a California king and I sleep on one half and the other half is a two-week pile of clothes out of the dryer." —sam_i_am_1968 2."I don't care what my family eats for dinner NO MORE! Miley Cyrus Surprises Fans With Intimate ‘Something Beautiful' Set At Chateau Marmont

There was a lot of love in the room at the Chateau Marmont Tuesday night as Miley Cyrus debuted her album Something Beautiful for a small crowd of about 100 fans — as evidenced by the couple that got engaged right in front of a surprised Cyrus after she wrapped up a performance of her song 'End of the World.' 'Go get a room, put it on my bill,' Cyrus said, jaw agape as the couple embraced and the crowd erupted in cheers. More from The Hollywood Reporter Edge of Seventeen: How the K-Pop Powerhouse Is Reinventing Itself How Reneé Rapp Says Her Mom Manifested Her Becoming a "Pop Star" Sass to Sobs, Diddy's Ex-Assistant Testifies About Gunpoint Kidnapping But Changes Some Details It was a fittingly intimate moment for the evening, hosted by TikTok, as the fans hand selected by Cyrus's team on the platform got to listen to Something Beautiful in full before Cyrus surprised the attendees with a 45-minute set. The crowd was made up mainly of fans, but also had a few friends like Anya Taylor-Joy. The crowd piled into the Chateau at 6 p.m., with most expecting just to listen to the album a few days early before its wide release this Friday. But by 7 p.m., the chatty room briefly went silent, wondering what was happening next before once again exploding with shouts and applause as Cyrus came out up front with her band. 'You like your style, and you love mine,' Cyrus quipped, glammed out in a shimmering silver old Hollywood-style dress as she started with Something Beautiful track 'More to Lose.' She then played latest single 'Easy Lover' before belting last year's smash hit 'Flowers,' telling the crowd she hopes all of her upcoming album's songs 'touch people the way this song has.' Cyrus, flanked pianist Michal Pollack, drummer Maxx Morando and guitarist Jonathan Rado, was loose and comfortable around her fans, opining between songs about growing up together and how the fans In the room have stuck with her through the many changes in her sound and personal life since her days as a teen idol as Hannah Montana nearly 20 years ago. 'We really did grow up together, that's why it's so emotional for all of us, we've been on this journey together,' Cyrus said. 'We start to even outgrow ourselves, there's things we gain but things we also leave behind. And I've never wanted that to be you. I've never wanted that to be my fans, everyone I grew up with. As I started to go deeper on my own personal journey, it's always been my hope and vision that you all would come with me. It's always greatly appreciated when you do, and you always do.' Talking about that growth and the 'different species' of butterflies she gets in the room with her fans, she then went into an impromptu performance of 'The Climb,' joking that she 'wasn't going to perform' the song before fans goaded her. She finished up with 'End of the World.' During her set, Cyrus had talked about making Something Beautiful, which will also have an accompanying film, over the past couple years amid the Endless Summer Vacation era, joking that 'I wasn't on vacation, I was making the next album.' 'The next time you're spamming the comments, just know I'm busy in my bikini,' she said. Cyrus walked fans through the concept of Something Beautiful, telling the crowd 'it's about taking these experiences, even when they're painful or we want to throw them away because they're just too much to bear, and wrapping them in beautiful bows and ribbons and appreciating all these gifts and experiences that we can't understand how they're going to serve us later in our life.' While she's days away from the Something Beautiful era even coming into full swing, before she finished up the night with 'End of the World,' Cyrus teased even more music, readying fans to come along for that ride too. 'My next album is about to be extremely experimental, so have fun with that,' she said as her fans cheered her on. 'Something Beautiful is just the appetizer.' Loretta Swit, Emmy-Winning Star of ‘M.A.S.H.,' Dies at 87

Loretta Swit, the Emmy-winning actress best known for her role as Major Margaret 'Hot Lips' Houlihan on the iconic CBS series 'M.A.S.H.,' has died at age 87. According to her publicist, Harlan Boll, Swit passed away on Friday at her home in New York City, likely from natural causes. Swit and Alan Alda were the longest-serving cast members on 'M.A.S.H.,' which aired for 11 years from 1972 to 1983. It was based on Robert Altman's 1970 film, itself adapted from a novel by Richard Hooker, the pseudonym of H. Richard Hornberger. The series' two-and-a-half-hour finale on Feb. 28, 1983, drew more than 100 million viewers—the largest audience ever for a scripted television episode. Rolling Stone ranked 'M.A.S.H.' No. 25 among the best TV shows of all time, while Time Out placed it at No. 34. The series won the Impact Award at the 2009 TV Land awards and a Peabody Award in 1975 its humor and 'the manner in which comedy is used to lift the spirit and, as well, to offer a profound statement on the nature of war.' Swit transformed Houlihan from a one-dimensional character in the film—played by Sally Kellerman—into a complex, evolving woman. Related Stories 5/30/2025 5/22/2025 'Around the second or third year I decided to try to play her as a real person, in an intelligent fashion, even if it meant hurting the jokes,' as Swit told Suzy Kalter, 'The Complete Book of 'M.A.S.H.'' author. 'She was a character in constant flux; she never stopped developing.' Swit appeared in nearly every episode and pushed for a more realistic portrayal of women. 'One of the things I liked, with Loretta's prodding, was every time I had a chance to write for her character, we'd get away from the Hot Lips angle and find out more about who Margaret was. She became more of a real person,' Alda told The Hollywood Reporter in a 2018 interview. The series finale saw Houlihan return to America to work at a hospital. Swit did not agree with this decision for her character, telling Yahoo Entertainment in 2023: 'I didn't think that was correct for my Margaret. I think her next move was Vietnam. So I didn't agree with that, but that's what they wanted her to do.' After 'M.A.S.H.,' Swit became an animal welfare activist, selling perfumes and her memoir to benefit animal nonprofits. The actress was born in Passaic, New Jersey, to Polish immigrants, studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and had notable roles on 'Gunsmoke,' 'Hawaii Five-O,' 'Mission Impossible,' and 'Bonanza.' 'Loretta Swit's portrayal of Margaret 'Hot Lips' Houlihan was groundbreaking—bringing heart, humor, and strength to one of television comedy's most enduring roles,' National Comedy Center Executive Director Journey Gunderson said in a statement.
