The Tianlian II-05 satellite was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) in Sichuan, a province in southwestern China, for data relay and transmission purposes.The Tianlian II-05 satellite was launched aboard a Long March-3B carrier rocket and successfully entered its planned orbit, according to People's Daily Online, the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
Notably, the Tianlian II-05 is a second-generation Chinese satellite designed to relay and transmit data while operating in geosynchronous orbit. It is intended to provide data transmission, telemetry, tracking, and control services.

It is worth noting that China launched another satellite earlier this month. The country secretly launched the TJS-17 satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC), also known as the Xichang Space Center—a spaceport located in Zeyuan Town, Sichuan Province.
The TJS-17 satellite was reportedly intended to test surrounding communication systems and related technologies. Due to the secrecy surrounding the launch, experts believe the mission may be associated with electronic intelligence gathering, orbital object inspection, and early warning capabilities. Acta Tropica also reported that the insects' sexual activity decreased because of the music, adding that female mosquitoes were "entertained" by it. Tsunami alert after powerful quakes strike off coast of Russia
Three powerful earthquakes struck off the coast of Russia's far east on Sunday, triggering a tsunami alert, the US Geological Survey said. Earlier 5.0-magnitude and 6.7-magnitude earthquakes did not initially trigger a tsunami alert, but were followed by a 7.4-magnitude quake at 0849 GMT, prompting the USGS to warn that "hazardous tsunami waves are possible" within 300 kilometres (186 miles) of the epicentre in the Pacific, off the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The Kamchatka Peninsula is a convergence point for the Pacific and North American tectonic plates, making it one of the world's most seismically active regions. According to the US National Geophysical Data Center, the Russian peninsula, which separates the Sea of Okhotsk from the Pacific Ocean, is considered "one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world." Since 1900, seven major earthquakes measuring 8.3 magnitude or higher on the Richter scale have occurred along the peninsula.
