Erin Patterson mushroom murder trial LIVE updates: Jury deliberates for a fifth day as world waits on verdict
Victoria Supreme Court Justice Christopher Beale concluded his address to the jury - or 'charge' - on Monday afternoon before the jury retired to deliberate on the verdict.
Two jurors were balloted out, leaving 12 to decide Patterson's fate.
The five women and seven men will resume their deliberations at 10.30am, meaning there is a possibility a verdict in the murder trial, which has garnered worldwide attention, could come today.
Should they not reach a verdict on Friday, the jury may continue its deliberations into Saturday. However, they have discretion about how long they sit for on that day.
Patterson, 50, is accused of murdering her in-laws, Don and Gail Patterson, and Gail's sister, Heather Wilkinson, after allegedly serving them a beef Wellington lunch made with death cap mushrooms.
Patterson is also accused of attempting to murder Heather's husband, Pastor Ian Wilkinson, who survived the lunch after spending several weeks in an intensive care unit.
The court heard Patterson's estranged husband, Simon (pictured), was also invited to the gathering at her home in Leongatha, in Victoria's Gippsland region, but didn't attend.
Witnesses told the jury that Patterson ate her serving from a smaller, differently-coloured plate to those of her guests, who ate off four grey plates.
Patterson told authorities she bought dried mushrooms from an unnamed Asian store in the Monash area of Melbourne, but health inspectors could find no evidence of this.

A 21-year-old allegedly stabbed to death by two teenagers last week in western Sydney may have been killed in a case of mistaken identity, New South Wales police say. At about 10.45pm on Thursday 26 June, authorities were called to Driftway Drive in Pemulwuy following reports that a man had been stabbed outside a house. Officers were told two males dressed in dark clothing and disguises had attacked Luke Manassa, 21, who was with his girlfriend. Homicide detectives a week later executed search warrants in South Penrith, Mount Druitt and Woodcroft. A 17-year-old male was subsequently charged with murder and refused bail to appear in a children's court on Friday. A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Mount Druitt and also charged with murder. Manassa last week managed to get back into his car after the alleged stabbing and drive a short distance before being overcome by his injuries, NSW police said on Friday. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 21-year-old but he died at the scene. EXCLUSIVE Convicted coke dealer fires back at the gunmen who shot up his home with a furious message for the wannabe gangsters
Convicted cocaine dealer Joe Frangieh has hit back at the 'cowards' who sprayed his mother's home with bullets in a drive-by shooting. Police were called to the matriarch's home on Davidson Avenue in Concord in Sydney 's inner-west shortly after 1am on June 256, amid reports 'five or six shots' had been fired. The home belongs to Hasna Frangieh, mother of Joe and Ray Frangieh, who were jailed for cocaine supply in 2002. It was bought by Ms Frangieh for $1.5million in 2015. Joe Frangieh told Daily Mail Australia he was overseas at the time of the shooting and had 'no idea' if it was specifically targeted at his family home. 'I think only cowards shoot houses - why is the point (sic),' he said. 'What if my mother or kids were hit. How does that make you strong. 'It's [a] bunch of cowards and the Australian Police would have to be the most embarrassing force on the planet - they should step up and let the streets sort themselves out or step away.' The Frangieh family has been targeted several times in the past. In September 2003, shortly after the Frangieh brothers had been released from prison, their home in Bristol Street, Merrylands, was sprayed a dozen bullets. Three months later, Mr Frangieh's father Sayed was fatally shot in the chest during another attack on the home. It was later revealed the intended target of the shooting was Ray Frangieh. Ray had become embroiled in a dispute with another crime figure, Ken Tan, who had reportedly failed to pay him $50,000 after buying his luxury BMW. Earlier that day, Ray had run Tan off the road in an altercation over the unpaid sum. Tan was jailed for manslaughter after it emerged he had sent associates to carry out the botched hit.

Cops swoop on $3million 'Chinese blessing' scam targeting vulnerable Aussies in Sydney and Melbourne
An elderly woman is the latest victim of a 'disgraceful' spiritual blessing scam defrauding dozens of people out of priceless jewels and thousands of dollars. NSW Police arrested a 63-year-old woman at Sydney Airport on Thursday night before taking her to Mascot Police Station. She is accused of defrauding a 77-year-old woman out of $130,000 in cash and jewellery in Parramatta, in the city's west, in June. Detective Superintendent Guy Magee told a press conference on Friday that police believed over 50 people were involved in the scam in Sydney and Melbourne. He said the men act as the coordinators, while the women are tasked with convincing victims their wealth needed to be blessed to protect their families from spirits. Supt Magee said the syndicate was 'targeting the entire east coast'. 'The offending could be double what we think,' he told reporters. 'There is an element of shame and humiliation for the victims... please don't be [ashamed] and let us stand alongside you. 'We're also calling out to the younger generations of these Asian communities to tell their parents and grandparents about this scam. 'Tell them they shouldn't be talking to strangers or taking them back to their homes. 'Tell them not to follow anyone to a herbal or spiritual healer.' Police said it is the latest example of a scam aimed at people of Asian backgrounds, where alleged offenders 'exploit cultural fears'. 'Once the scammers are in possession of their money and valuables including jewellery, the items are swapped with items of no value and the women are encouraged not to open the bags for an extended time,' police said. A police Strike Force has been in operation since April, investigating alleged blessing scams across Sydney since 2023. Police have received reports of more than 80 incidents in that time and say the scams have netted a cool $3million in cash and valuables. The 63-year-old woman arrested on Thursday was charged with dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, participating in a criminal group, and demanding property in company with menaces with intent to steal. She was set to face Parramatta Local Court on Friday after being denied police bail.
