Tom Lawrence has ‘three Rangers exit options' as two historic EFL clubs join big-spending Wrexham in free transfer race
TOM LAWRENCE has three English Championship sides keen to snap him up as a free agent, according to reports.
The midfielder was freed by Rangers at the end of last season after his contract expired.

Lawrence, 31, struggled with injuries after arriving at Ibrox from Derby County, never playing more than 22 leagues games in his three years in Glasgow.
In total he managed 65 appearances with 11 goals for the Light Blues.
The Wales international has been the subject of interest from big-spending Wrexham, backed by ambitious Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Wrexham won promotion from League One last season and will now compete in the Championship alongside two other clubs that have emerged as potential suitors for Lawrence.
According to Football League World and Welsh outlet The Daily Post, Lawrence is also being tracked by West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City.
West Brom and Coventry both made pushes for Premier League promotion last season, with the Baggies missing out while the Sky Blues were beaten by Sunderland in the play-offs.
Lawrence could be an replacement at the Hawthorns for John Swift, and for Jamie Paterson at the Coventry Arena.
A move to Wrexham would represent something of a homecoming for Lawrence who was born in Wrexham but never actually played for the club.
He first played for Everton as a youth before joining Manchester United at eight and working his way up the age groups at Old Trafford.
But he never quite made the grade in Manchester and before leaving for Leicester City in 2014 he spent time on loan at Carlisle United and Yeovil Town, the latter when they were in the Championship.
Rangers captain James Tavernier spotted training with ex-team-mate and old Premiership rival Ryan Porteous who branded him 'bad loser'
Indeed, Lawrence has amassed the majority of his career appearances in the second tier of English football.
He has turned out Rotherham United, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City, and Ipswich Town.

Rio Ferdinand claims £64m striker is 'waiting' for Man Utd transfer offer
Rio Ferdinand believes Victor Osimhen could be 'waiting' for a call from Manchester United after turning down a lucrative transfer move to the Saudi Pro League. United wrapped up their first piece of summer transfer business as they completed a £62.5million deal with Wolves for Matheus Cunha last month. Bryan Mbeumo has been been heavily linked in recent days on the back of an outstanding season with Brentford and is said to be eager to push through a switch to Old Trafford, despite strong interest from Tottenham. Signing an out-and-out centre-forward remains an absolute priority on the back of an immensely disappointing campaign for both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, who managed a combined total of just seven goals in the Premier League last term. While Viktor Gyokeres is understood to be high up on United's wishlist, it's believed the Sporting and Sweden sensation is intent on playing Champions League football and therefore favours a move to Arsenal. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. The Red Devils were also beaten the signing of Liam Delap earlier this summer, with Chelsea landing the young Ipswich striker for a fee of just £30m. Assessing the club's early transfer business on Rio Ferdinand Presents, the legendary ex-United and England defender said: 'I'm happy with Cunha, he's one of the ones I mentioned on my list. I hope it goes well for him. 'The problem is that I've been happy many times in transfer windows and it's gone wrong. 'I'm hoping he's not going to be added to that list. 'If they get Mbeumo, I'd be very happy.' Ferdinand is confident Mbeumo 'wants to come' to United and feels the forward's Premier League experience will stand him in good stead at the Theatre of Dreams. Asked why Brentford star is being spoken about as a done deal, Ferdinand replied: 'Because he wants to come. Mbeumo wants to come, I know it. 'His stats over the last three seasons in the Premier League are up there, by the way. Goals and assists, goal chances, ridiculous. 'Again, another proven Premier League player. This is what I like, played in the Premier League. There ain't no adjustment business. 'The only thing is there will be adjustment because of the size of the club. 'They don't have to do that when they go to Arsenal! There ain't that pressure, the badge ain't as heavy! It's heavy, but it's not as heavy!' Asked who else he would like to see join United this summer, Ferdinand replied: 'No.9, they already know who I want. The comments know, the people know who I want, who I would go and get: Osimhen! 'It looks like he's turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United. 'I don't know if Manchester United are going to come. That's the problem.' Osimhen is expected to move on from Napoli this summer having spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals in all competitions to help the club to a domestic double. Al-Hilal had reportedly reached an agreement wit Napoli to sign Osimhen, only for the prolific Nigeria international to turn down the move. It's understood Osimhen – who has a £64m release clause with Napoli – is determined to continue playing in one of Europe's top leagues. Osimhen has just one year remaining on his current contract in Naples. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Hibs Europa League opponents revealed - and here's what you need to know about them

Hibs have been handed the toughest possible footballing challenge - but one of the easier logistical tests - for their opening fixtures in season 2024-45 after being drawn against regular European adventurers FC Midtjylland in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. They'll travel to Denmark on July 24, before hosting the second leg at Easter Road on July 31. Although Midtjylland undoubtedly represent the strongest seeded team Hibs could have been pitted against in today's low-key draw in Nyon, there are a couple of bonuses for David Gray's team. Starting with the fact that they know exactly who they'll be playing, instead of waiting on the winners of a first qualifying round tie that won't be settled until just a week before the second qualifying round kicks off. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Europa League second qualifying round - ties to be played July 24 and 31 First leg at home FC Lugano Paksi FC/CFR Cluj Saba/Celje AEK Larnaca/Partizan Belgrade Levski Sofia/Hapoel Beer-Sheva SC Braga Banik Ostrava Legia Warsaw/FC Aktobe Anderlecht Spartak Trnava/BK Hacken Sheriff Tiraspol/FC Prishtina Utrecht FC Midtjylland Hibernian Besiktas Shakhtar Donetksk/Ilves Tampere That means the Edinburgh club can immediately start preparing travel and accommodation plans. And they'll be just as relieved to have avoided the potentially risky trip to the disputed region of Transnistria, right on the Ukrainian border, to face Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol. Midtjylland are renowned as being at the forefront of data analysis and progressive coaching methods, having pioneered the use of scientific methods to beat the market by buying hot prospects at a low price - and selling them on for fortunes. Euro veterans faced Liverpool and Ajax in Champions League Thomas Thomasberg's team only just missed out on a second straight Danish title last season, finishing just a point behind Copenhagen. They're European veterans at the highest level, having reached the group stages of the Champions League as recently as season 2020-21, even if they did finish bottom of Group D behind Liverpool, Atalanta and Ajax. Regular qualifiers for some sort of UEFA competition, they didn't quite make it past the new league stages of the Europa League last season, missing out on the knock-out stages in a play-off. Hibs will be hoping, meanwhile, that star player Dario Osorio - a 21-year-old Chilean given free reign to attack across the front line - is sold before Gray's men travel to Denmark for that first leg. Marseille and Real Betis are just two of the European clubs linked with Osorio. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Even if they lose their top young talent, Midtjylland boast plenty of firepower. Veteran Polish international striker Adam Buksa is a threat, while 20-year-old Guinea Bissau forward Francolino Dju will also take some stopping. Hibs face up to three European parachutes to break their fall this season, despite missing out on the guaranteed Conference League spot snatched out of their grasp by Aberdeen's Scottish Cup win. Should they fail to get past Midtjylland, Gray's men - who finished third in the Scottish Premiership - will drop into the third qualifying round for the Conference League. Get past the Danes and they'll be guaranteed at least a Conference League play-off, even if they lose in the Europa League third qualifying round.

Arsenal fans launch bizarre conspiracy theory as Premier League fixtures are released
Arsenal fans have bizarrely claimed their club are the victims of a conspiracy after the Premier League released the fixtures for the 2025-26 Premier League season. The Gunners have finished as runners-up in the last three season - twice behind Man City and then Liverpool in the 2024-25 campaign. Fans had eagerly awaited the fixture release on Wednesday morning to chart the path Mikel Arteta 's side will have to take to end their wait for the title, which now stretches back until 2003. Arsenal will open the season with a blockbuster away match against Manchester United, who will be aiming to bounce back from finishing 15th after a miserable 2024-25 season. The Gunners host newly promoted Leeds United in their second home match, before a trip to Anfield to face champions Liverpool. Arsenal then face Nottingham Forest and Man City at home, with an away match to Newcastle completing their opening six fixtures of the season. Statisticians Opta have determined that Arsenal have been handed the second-toughest opening five-games, with only Man United facing a tougher start. Some Arsenal fans reacted to playing four of last season's top seven in the opening matches by suggesting the Premier League 'hate' the club and were setting them up 'for the kill'. 'They don't have it in for Arsenal, no? Smh,' one fan wrote, adding 'They do everything - *everything* - they can.' 'Premier League hate Arsenal. Scheduled an incredibly difficult start in the last 2 seasons,' another wrote. Other fans claimed the start was 'punishment' amid complaints over refereeing standards last season. It followed Arteta claiming at the end of last season that his players had been 'punished' at the start of the campaign, both stating rules 'after 15 games were very different'. One fan wrote 'With that start to the season, who thinks the FA/Premier League are punishing Arsenal for showing up the PGMOL (the body responsible for refereeing games). 'I've genuinely lost all excitement, the refs will just make up a new rule and only apply it to us. There's no point watching anymore, they just decide who they want to win anyway,' another wrote. Another took aim at North London rivals Tottenham amid their complaint over the fixtures, with new Spurs boss handed a home start against promoted Burnley on the opening day. 'Probably the hardest start to a season in Arsenal's history. We'll be doing well to take 10 points from the first six. Have to say it was nice of the Premier League to allow Thomas Frank to pick his first few fixtures to ensure a gentle start.' Despite complaints from Arsenal fans, the Premier League fixture list is determined by a computer with the top flight publishing a guide earlier this week to how the calendar is complied. The Premier League stated that the computer tries to follow basic rules including splits of three home and away matches or two home and three away in a five match run of games. Clubs will not start or finish the season will two home or away matches for fairness, while if teams are at home in the first matches after Christmas Day, they will be away for the New Year's Day fixtures. The Premier League also stated it seeks to maintain a home-away sequence throughout the season wherever possible. Travel considerations, the impact of clubs competitions, policing and requests from clubs to play on specific dates at home or away – due to anniversaries, events and stadium rebuilds, are considered before fixtures are mixed by the computer. Fans of rival clubs were quick to mock the section of Arsenal fans who complained about the fixture schedule. 'There is simply nothing more Arseanl than their fans writing to the PL to complain about their fixture list, phenomenal stuff,' one wrote. 'Arsenal fans are really calling the fixture list scripted as if every team doesn't play each other twice,' another said.
