
Gunman fires shot outside clinic in attempted robbery
Seri Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident happened at about 7.10pm on Saturday in Taman Megah Ria.
'The suspect entered the clinic and pointed an object believed to be a pistol at a person in the clinic while demanding cash,' he said.
'The man fired a shot outside the clinic before escaping on a motorcycle.
'There were no patients in the clinic during the robbery attempt.
'Only the doctor, her husband and their children were there.'
The robbery failed and police are looking for the suspect.
The case is being investigated under Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 for discharging a firearm during an attempted robbery.

In a 31-second viral video, the suspect is seen falling before getting up and fleeing the scene on a motorcycle while holding a pistol-like object.

Penang doctor arrested for molesting female patient
BALIK PULAU: A 43-year-old doctor has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual harassment of a female patient at a private clinic in Bayan Baru. Balik Pulau OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam said the suspect was arrested at the district police headquarters here on Monday (July 21) around 8pm. "The suspect was asked to present himself to assist investigations," he said. ACP Sazalee said the suspect was arrested after a woman in her 30s lodged a report on July 18, claiming she was molested by the doctor during a medical consultation on June 29. ACP Sazalee said at 11.46am, the victim sought treatment at the clinic for abdominal pain. During the examination, the doctor allegedly instructed her to remove her top and proceeded to touch both her breasts," he said. Following the arrest, police also seized the doctor's mobile phone to assist in the ongoing investigation. It is learnt that the doctor has been remanded for three days until July 23. The case is currently being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force with intent to outrage modesty. It was reported that the suspect had been arrested on three separate occasions for similar incidents involving three female victims. The suspect allegedly instructed patients to undress and perform on-the-spot exercises under the guise of further examination. He is also alleged to have recorded images of the victims' bodies using his mobile phone during the sessions.

Man filmed driving against traffic suffered from mental health issues, say cops
SEREMBAN: The driver of a car caught driving against traffic near here has been found to be suffering from mental health problems. Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said police detained the 57-year-old man in Banting, Selangor, after the 25-second clip went viral on Monday (July 21). "A team was formed to track down the driver after we came across the clip showing a car being driven against traffic along Jalan Tuanku Antah on Monday night. "A background check on the driver revealed that he had mental health issues and had received treatment for it," he said in a statement. ACP Mohamad Hatta said the man's wife had also lodged a report confirming this. He said the man had a valid driving license and the car had road tax and insurance coverage. The driver had, however, previously been issued a traffic summons under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for failing to adhere to traffic rules.

Worker found dead after fight at Sg Petani construction site
SUNGAI PETANI: A foreign man has been found dead with neck and abdominal injuries at a construction site in Bandar Utama near here. Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Hanyan Ramlan said police received a call at 11.40pm on Sunday (July 20) about the discovery. "Preliminary investigations found that a fight broke out between the victim, believed to be a Myanmar national in his 30s, and his roommate, a fellow countryman. "The roommate, in his 50s, fled the scene,' he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 22). He said police also detained 22 individuals to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
