Time of India13-07-2025
Rey Mysterio, one of the biggest names in the WWE has been missing from in-ring competition since April when he suffered an injury on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 41. This forced him to miss the 'Show of Shows'. His impending return is one of the most keenly discussed topics among fans. Speaking to Indiatimes, veteran journalist Dave Meltzer revealed the timeline for his return.
Dave Meltzer sheds light on Rey Mysterio's future
Dave Meltzer, the founder of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, is one of the most respected names in pro wrestling journalism. The veteran analyst specialises in covering the WWE and frequently shares his frank opinions on the product on social media. Speaking to Indiatimes, he revealed that Rey Mysterio is expected to return to in-ring competition in August. This suggests that he is likely to miss SummerSlam, which is slated to be held on August 2 and August 3.
Rey Mysterio tore his groin and busted his eardrum right before WrestleMania 41 in April. The groin injury occurred during a tag match on SmackDown. He also injured his eardrum around the same time. He later underwent surgery for the same. This injury forced him to miss WrestleMania 41, where he was to take on El Grande Americano in a grudge match. He was replaced by Rey Fenix in the bout, who lost.
Rey Mysterio made his unofficial return to WWE programming at Worlds Collide in June and appeared during the opening segment. He, however, was not cleared to compete at the event.
Is a Rey Mysterio-Penta feud on the cards?
Penta has emerged as WWE's resident 'Luchador No 1' in Rey Mysterio's absence. The former AEW star even main evented Raw recently when he took on Seth Rollins in a losing effort. Penta squared off with Rey Mysterio in the Royal Rumble match and held his own against the veteran. It remains to be seen if the two lock horns or cross paths again once the 'Master of the 619' , who is being advertised for Survivor Series this November, returns to in-ring competition. He may also resume his feud with El Grande Americano.

Brock Lesnar On WWE's 'Ban List' After Scandal? Explosive Claim Surfaces

Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier made a stunning revelation about Brock Lesnar's current status in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Cormier believes that Brock may not return to WWE and even went on to say that the multiple-time champion is currently on the company's 'ban list'. Brock has not featured in WWE since August 2023 after his loss to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. Brock was reportedly going to make his return at 2024 Royal Rumble but it did not materialise and several fans were of the opinion that the decision was impacted by the Janel Grand lawsuit. Lesnar was named in the sex trafficing lawsuit along with Vince McMahon and he has not featured in WWE ever since. "Brock [Lesnar] is on the ban list right now. Oh dude, Brock got in so much trouble. I ain't telling you on air what Brock did. Brock is so much in trouble," Daniel Cormier said on the 'Mighty' Podcast. Meanwhile, CM Punk launched a surprising verbal rant on Dominik Mysterio and called him 'illiterate'. Dominik has taken shots at Punk by calling him 'old' over the years but it was the first time that the veteran wrestler replied as he said that Dominik has no idea what his own tattoos mean. "A lot of people don't know he does that because a lot of the tattoos he got are misspelled because Dominik can't read," Punk said. While the spat between Punk and Dominik has mostly been verbal in the recent past, this can be the start of a rivalry. "I hate CM Punk, why, because he's old, he disappeared for what, 30 years, and came back and he's now what, 60, and he's still wrestling, he tortured me when I was a I was 12 years old, and he was probably like 45 at the time, maybe 50 - I just don't like CM Punk, he traumatized me as a kid, who does that to a 12 year old, what's wrong with him," Dominik had earlier said.

‘Saiyaara' OTT release: Here's what we know about the online streaming of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's debut Bollywood film

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's debut Bollywood movie 'Saiyaara' has kept the industry abuzz. From the movie's storyline, to music, to the performance of the debutants, every element of the film is appreciated by one and all. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The movie hasn't even completed its first week at the box office, and the audience can't wait to know about its OTT release. So, here's what we know. Trade analysts' take on 'Saiyaara' OTT release Several media reports have shared that during the screening of the movie, Netflix appeared as the OTT partner. Further, according to an Indiatimes report, trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal also hinted that the romantic drama will be released on the said streamer. 'Mohit Suri has a strong rapport with Netflix. So I feel that that will be the OTT platform of choice for Saiyaara. However, the final call will be made based on the prices quoted,' said Rohit. However, as of now, there has been no confirmation from the maker's side or the OTT platform. 'Saiyaara' box office report There haven't been any fancy promotional activities around the movie, there was not much of a buzz, yet the movie performed impressively at the box office. Within 3 days, the movie has crossed the Rs 80 crore mark in the domestic market, states Sacnilk. With this, the movie has entered 2025's highest-grossing films. This has been a record-breaking performance by a debutant-led movie. 'Saiyaara' review Lauding the work of the newcomers, an excerpt from TOI's review of 'Saiyaara' reads - 'Ahaan Panday's makes a smashing debut, capturing both the rough-edged swagger of a star-in-the-making and the vulnerability demanded later on. His prowess is on display in the finale as he revisits an earlier scene—channelling Virat 'King' Kohli—transforming the raw passion of the first half into pure emotion later. Aneet Padda is impressive in romantic and emotional scenes and has a dainty yet commanding screen presence. The actress shines in a recording studio scene early on, when she talks about the enduring nature of emotions in music versus fleeting trends.'
