I did no wrong; ready to face probe any number of times: KTR
Hyderabad: Stating that he would go for inquiry even if the investigating agency calls him 100 times, the BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday said that he had committed no wrong and had elevated Telangana's global standing and also challenged CM Revanth Reddy to discuss Formula E in front of four crore people not in four walls.
Talking to media after the inquiry, Rama Rao said that he strongly defended his role in the organization of the Hyderabad Formula E race, asserting that he had neither committed any wrongdoing nor done anything he should be ashamed of. He said, 'I have enhanced the global reputation of Telangana, not brought it down.' He lashed out at Telangana Revanth Reddy for allegedly refusing to hold a public or Assembly discussion on the Formula E issue, despite repeated challenges. 'Revanth didn't have the courage to debate me in front of the people of Telangana,' said KTR, adding that even though he offered to undergo a lie detector test, Revanth shied away.
Rao clarified that it was a policy decision to hold the second edition of Formula E in Hyderabad following the resounding success of the first edition. 'Funds were transferred to the organizing agency's bank account as part of the official process. I have explained this to the ACB. Where is the corruption here?' questioned Rao. He referred to former IPS officer Dr RS Praveen Kumar's observation that invoking ACB in a non-corruption case was unprecedented in his 26-year career.
KTR accused the ACB of repeatedly asking 'irrelevant and prepared questions', allegedly written by someone named Chittinayudu. He said Revanth Reddy, who himself was caught with Rs 50 lakh in a suitcase and jailed for a month, was now hell-bent on imprisoning BRS leaders under false pretences. 'He wants to parade KCR before the Kaleshwaram Commission, summon Harish Rao, and harass me with ACB inquiries. This is his political vendetta,' KTR charged. Calling Revanth a 'cheap Chief Minister with cheap politics,' KTR said the Congress government has neither the skill to govern nor the courage to fulfill promises. They are running away from their commitments and resorting to diversionary politics.
KTR also criticized the Congress government's complete failure to govern effectively. He accused the regime of blatantly backtracking on every key promise it made to the people.
'The much-touted Kamareddy Declaration, which assured 42 per cent reservations for BCs, has been abandoned without explanation. The Rythu Bandhu scheme, once a dependable support system for farmers, is now being withheld and turned into an election-time tool,' he claimed.

A woman from rural China allegedly pretended to be a socialite to date and rob affluent men so as to save up to 10 million yuan (Rs 11.7 crore) for a down payment on a home. Yin Xue, 24, was taken into custody following the eventual collapse of her elaborate plan to earn over a million dollars from wealthy men, the South China Morning Post reported. It was Yin's dream to buy a house in the elite city of Shenzhen and bring her family back together in five years. She opted for the unconventional route to fulfil her wish. To save money, Yin first worked as a sales assistant, model, and live streamer while working at a Beijing hotel. But that was never enough. In March 2021, Yin joined local dating and social chat groups while working at a karaoke bar in Shanghai. Self-assured, she rebranded herself as a socialite to attract wealthy men. She took courses on fine dining, wine tasting, and etiquette, maintained a rigorous fitness regimen, and used most of her savings for plastic surgery. Confident of her newly acquired skills and abilities, Yin started dating wealthy men and living in their opulent residences in Shanghai. She robbed them once they were away. She even employed expert movers to clear out entire homes, stealing everything from furniture and appliances to handbags and designer belts. She then sold everything on online marketplaces for used goods. In a matter of months, Yin allegedly stole almost 200,000 yuan (US$30,000) from eight men. Fearing public humiliation, the majority of her victims remained silent. Yin's ninth lover, Zhang, caught her in the act after he installed security cameras inside his house and watched his alleged lover looting his house. She was taken into custody and charged with fraud and theft. Despite her extensive robberies, Yin lived a modest lifestyle, renting a basement room in a Shanghai hotel, using free makeup samples, and spending less than 30 yuan (US$4) each day. "All I wanted was money to purchase a home. I didn't spend recklessly," she told the police. Yin Xue was raised in a poor household in rural Hunan, central China. Her desire to have a "luxurious life" stemmed from attending an extravagant wedding when she was only 18. The couple's expensive clothing, villa, and private staff made Yin envious and ambitious.

In a shocking turn of events, Bengali film producer Shyam Sunder Dey has accused popular TV actors Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma of abducting him during a recent trip to Goa. His wife, Malabika, has lodged a police complaint, and the couple has been booked under serious charges. Dey spoke to Times of India and revealed that the incident happened while he was on vacation in Goa with his family. After five days, his family flew back home, but he stayed on for some work. One day, while he was driving, things took a terrifying turn. 'It came out of nowhere and forced me to a halt. Two men got down, approached me, and insisted I step out. At first, I refused. But then I noticed Puja Banerjee, who has been like a sister to me, was present," he said, describing how a black Jaguar blocked his car on a busy road. Trusting Puja's presence, Dey stepped out of the car and was allegedly taken to a villa. 'I stayed at the villa from June 1 to June 4. I wasn't allowed to leave. Every day I tried to reason with Puja and Kunal; I reminded them we were like family, pleaded with them to stop. But all I faced were threats," he claimed. According to Dey, things got violent. He alleged that Kunal, along with a few others, beat him up in front of Puja and even confiscated his phone except one. 'When they began pressing me to sign property papers, I realised this had gone too far," he said. Using the only phone left near him, Dey secretly sent his location and a video to his wife, shot inside a bathroom. Malabika immediately contacted the authorities, and on June 4, he was rescued from the villa. Following the complaint, Puja, Kunal, and their associate Piyush Kothari have been charged with abduction, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, and extortion under several sections of the BNS. Malabika later took to Facebook to share her side. She said the couple had threatened to falsely frame her husband in a drug case unless he gave them money. She added that they made him transfer Rs 23 lakh, even though they had initially demanded Rs 64 lakh. So far, Puja and Kunal haven't responded to the accusations. Interestingly, just a few days ago, the couple had posted online claiming that someone close to them had scammed them out of all their savings.
