Young Stunna's rocky relationship with Zim fans deepens after latest no-show

South African Amapiano star Young Stunna has once again found himself at the centre of controversy in Zimbabwe after failing to appear at a much-anticipated weekend gig.
This has reignited tensions that have brewed over multiple visits.
The ' Adiwele ' hitmaker was billed to perform at Fiesta Fiesta alongside Sha Sha, but his absence, blamed on an 'unforeseen family emergency', turned what had been an energetic night into chaos.
As reported by H-Metro , fans, who had been waiting since early afternoon, reacted angrily, with some hurling bottles at the stage and damaging property.
Young Stunna issued a 'heartfelt' apology.
'It is with much regret that we announce the postponement of my performances this weekend scheduled for 8th – 10th August 2025 due to an unforeseen family emergency.
'We understand this may have caused great inconvenience for the promoter, their sponsors as well as the fans / supporters, therefore we truly apologies.'
'Posting your cancellation after the show is crazy when fans have been waiting since 1 pm for you. You hate Zimbabwe,' one disgruntled supporter wrote online.
Another added, 'The least you could have done was tell us about the emergency before the show, not after seeing an angry crowd.'
While some social media users expressed sympathy, wishing the artist well if his emergency was genuine, many accused him of showing disregard for Zimbabwean audiences.
This is not the first flashpoint. In 2023, Young Stunna's no-show at Bulawayo's Shorts and Shades event sparked similar unrest, with angry fans throwing objects onto the stage.
In 2022, a bottle allegedly struck him during a performance in the country.
Despite his chart-topping hits like Bopha and Adiwele , Young Stunna's visits to Zimbabwe have become synonymous with disappointment for many concertgoers — a troubling pattern that risks further straining his relationship with a once-loyal fan base.

Victory against Chimaev is no different to any of my preceding victories, says Du Plessis

Dricus du Plessis aims to prove his status as the Greatest Of All Time in the UFC Middleweight division as he faces Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 319. | AFP The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis, emphasised that beating the number three-ranked middleweight fighter Khamzat Chimaev will carry the same weight as beating any of his opponents in the UFC thus far, despite Chimaev being highly rated. Du Plessis will face Chimaev at UFC 319 in Chicago in the early hours on Sunday morning (South African time), a fighter that many consider to be "The boogeyman" of the UFC. Because of the dominant nature of the majority of Chimaev's victories in the UFC, coupled with his unbeaten record in his career, many fighters fear him, making him one of the highly rated fighters that the South African has faced in his career. However, despite all the aforementioned reasons, Du Plessis made it clear that beating Chimaev does not carry any more weight than beating Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland or any of his opponents in the UFC. The trash talk king added that Chimaev has been respectful to him, a feat that contributed in the lack of trash talk or banter in the pre-fight press conference on Friday. "This will mean for me exactly what it meant to beat every other guy before this. It's not about the opponent, it's not about who I face, it's about defending this belt every time somebody steps up to try and take it from me. That's all that matters to me," said Du Plessis. "This is the first time meeting him this week. I don't know the man. He seems respectful up until now, that's why there's no trash talk."

'I let everyone down': Kgolo Mthembu apologises for CHEATING on wife

Durban businessman Kgolo 'Daguru' Mthembu has apologised to his estranged wife, Real Housewives of Durban star Annie Mthembu, after she revealed that she had cheated on her. Kgolo Mthembu apologised to Annie Mthembu after she sat down with podcaster Lungelo KM on an episode of Engineer Your Life to chat about why their marriage ended. This was the first time that Annie has openly spoken out about her split from Kgolo. Following the release of the episode on Tuesday this week, Kgolo took to the comments section of a TikTok post to express that he regrets the pain he caused Annie. He went on to add that he wishes her true love, healing and peace. 'No matter the personal struggles I was facing, there's never an excuse for dishonoring Gods blessings. I deeply regret the pain I've caused you,' he wrote in the comments section of a TikTok post. 'As the head of the family, I let everyone down. Annie from the bottom of my heart, I wish you true love, healing and peace. Farewell, pretty wings,' he continued. Annie revealed that Kgolo cheated on her during their marriage. The pair met in 2016 and tied the knot in 2021 at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek in the Western Cape. Kgolo was featured on the Real Housewives of Durban , where Annie was one of the housewives. The pair have a pair of Irish twins together. 'No one likes being cheated on. It makes you question yourself a lot,' she said. 'Admitting I was being cheated on felt like saying I wasn't good enough. People told me things – some true, some not. When you don't know what to believe, you start losing your mind. I was highly embarrassed. I wasn't in a good place,' she continued. Annie also shared that she tried to save her marriage in order to protect her family. Read more on three bombshells from the tell-all podcast here. Unstoppable style: Giovanna Barbosa transforms football discipline into fashion power

From Coventry City FC's pitches to the global fashion scene, Giovanna Barbosa blends athletic discipline, legal smarts and creative flair into a boundary-breaking career. From the disciplined pitches of Coventry City FC to the high-gloss world of international fashion, Barbosa has fused athletic precision, legal acumen and creative daring into a career that defies convention. South African-born Giovanna Barbosa doesn't just break moulds - she reinvents them. As the visionary behind the bold 'Miss Unforgettable' campaign, she's proving that presence, authenticity and fearless storytelling aren't just qualities for the runway - they're a way of life. Barbosa is an international fashion model and creative director, celebrated for merging high-concept visuals with emotional storytelling. Her editorial work challenges traditional norms of beauty and femininity, crafting campaigns that prioritise authenticity, power and aesthetic depth. Yet, her journey to the creative spotlight was far from linear. Before fashion became her stage, Barbosa was a professional footballer for Coventry City FC. 'Football taught me discipline, resilience and the value of teamwork - qualities that are invaluable in modelling and creative work,' she explained. 'It also taught me to perform under pressure, to read situations quickly and to adapt. On a shoot or when directing a campaign, every second counts - just like on the field.' Transitioning from football to fashion and creative direction stemmed from a lifelong affinity for aesthetics. 'Even as a child, I was drawn to self-expression,' Barbosa said. 'After football, I wanted a career that allowed me to combine creativity, storytelling and impact. Modelling and creative direction gave me the freedom to explore those passions while challenging myself in entirely new ways.' Her academic background in law also informs her creative process. 'Studying law sharpened my analytical skills and attention to detail,' she noted. 'From contracts to project execution, I learned how to balance creative vision with practical implementation. Creativity without structure doesn't last.'
