ImmunoGenesis to present IMGS-001 Phase 1a/1b Clinical Study Updates at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting
IMGS-001 is first dual-specific PD-L1/PD-L2 antibody with cytotoxic killing function and is designed to treat the many "immune-excluded" cancers that are resistant to existing immunotherapies
HOUSTON, May 30, 2025 /CNW/ -- ImmunoGenesis, a clinical-stage biotech company developing innovative, science-driven immunotherapies, announced today that a Trial in Progress poster for its first-in-human, Phase 1a/1b clinical trial of IMGS-001 will be presented at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting being held in Chicago, Illinois from May 30 to June 3, 2025.
This Phase 1a/1b first-in-human, open-label, multicenter study (NCT06014502) includes a dose escalation and an expansion portion to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity of IMGS-001 in adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors refractory to standard-of-care treatment. The study will enroll approximately 25 patients in Phase 1a and up to 250 in Phase 1b. The first three of five planned dose cohorts have completed without any dose limiting toxicities (DLTs), with cohort 4 (10 mg/kg) now enrolling.

IMGS-001, the lead program at ImmunoGenesis, is a PD-L1/PD-L2 dual-specific monoclonal antibody with engineered cytotoxic effector function. IMGS-001 is the first molecule in clinical testing to target PD-L2 in addition to PD-L1, potentially improving blockade of the PD-1 pathway. The engineered effector function may enable IMGS-001 to eliminate immunosuppressive PD-L1- and/or PD-L2-expressing cells present in the tumor microenvironment, providing the potential to overcome immune resistance in immune-excluded tumors. Wildfire smoke exposure may shorten lung cancer survival

THE CANADIAN PRESS/HO - Manitoba RCMP Exposure to wildfire smoke may increase lung cancer patients' risk of dying from their disease, particularly among non-smokers, but the effect may be mitigated by certain cancer treatments, according to a large California study presented at a major medical meeting on Saturday. Researchers tracked more than 18,000 people with non-small cell lung cancer – the most common kind – between 2017 and 2020. Those living in neighborhoods with the highest levels of wildfire-caused air pollution in the year after their cancer diagnosis were more likely to die from the disease, they found. Patients who inhaled higher levels of tiny particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 microns or less that can penetrate deeply into the lungs had a 20% greater risk of dying from lung cancer, researchers reported at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting in Chicago. People with advanced stage 4 cancer who had never smoked were especially affected, researchers found. Their risk of dying from cancer was 55% higher if they were exposed to high levels of wildfire air pollution. The study used advanced modeling to estimate daily air quality at patients' home addresses, based on data from satellites, weather models, smoke forecasts and air quality monitors. The researchers also found that wildfire smoke exposure did not significantly affect survival of patients with Stage 4 lung cancer with a history of smoking who were treated with an immunotherapy drug. 'This surprising trend suggests that smoke-related changes in the body may interact with certain treatments,' and more study of this phenomenon is warranted, the researchers said. Wildfire smoke is more toxic than normal air pollution. Along with particles of soil and biological materials, it often contains traces of chemicals, metals, plastics and other synthetic materials. 'As wildfires become more frequent and intense in California and other parts of the U.S., we need targeted health strategies to protect cancer patients and others with serious health problems,' said study leader Dr. Surbhi Singhal of UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center in Sacramento, California. Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene called on Wednesday for members of the Great State Khural to decide on whether the coalition government, which has been in place since last June's parliamentary elections, should remain as a way of ending recent political instability. The Prime Minister is due to address the Khural on Monday ahead of a 'confidence vote' – likely to be deemed one of the most important moments in Mongolia's political history since becoming a democracy in the early 1990s. As the vote approaches, new economic data – which can be viewed in full here – produced by Mongolia's Economic Development Board warns of the scale of the economic hit Mongolia could face, namely: A 22% reduction in Gross National Income within six months A 12.2% increase in inflation within a year Year-on-year unemployment rising to 2.5% The Mongolian Tugrik depreciating against the US Dollar by 17.9% by the end of 2025 An 18-point year-on-year decrease in Mongolia's Political Stability Index These forecasts are in line with the experiences of other countries where political instability has had a negative impact on the economy, including following the fall of a coalition government: According to data from the World Bank and other key sources, the coalition breakdown in Estonia caused FDI to tumble from 7.54% in 2021, to 0.74% in 2024, and its economic growth to stall from 7.3% in 2021, to -0.9% in 2024 An international study analysing data from up to 169 countries between 1960 and 2004 has concluded that high levels of political instability are associated with lower GDP per capita growth, particularly due to declining productivity growth and reduced accumulation of physical and human capital Commenting, Dr Batnasan B., Professor at the Business School of the National University of Mongolia and Member of the Economic Development Board, said: " The latest data clearly highlights the potential economic consequences of a collapse in Mongolia's coalition government: a sharp economic downturn, runaway inflation, and a rise in unemployment. "It is entirely appropriate that elected representatives decide who governs the country. But it is equally important that such decisions are made with full access to the facts and a clear understanding of the potential risks. "The Economic Development Board's analysis—combined with lessons from other countries that have faced similar circumstances—presents a compelling warning: all the hard-won economic progress Mongolia has achieved in recent years could be jeopardized if Monday's vote results in increased political instability."
