Youtuber gets kicked out of famous Glasgow takeaway while trying to crown city's 'worst dish'

A Youtuber got kicked out of one Glasgow's most famous takeaways after taking to the streets to crown the city's "worst-rated dish".
Konstantin, known as Kon, has nearly 1.4 million subscribers on the platform and has previously worked with stars like the Sidemen and KSI.

Earlier this month he shared the video entitled "I Tried Glasgow's WORST RATED Takeaways".

The social media star and a friend headed out to order the dishes customers have complained about most in online reviews. The duo then said they would decide for themselves which of the city's takeaways offered the worst rated food in a bid to find their "unlucky winner of Glasgow's worst dish".
The clip, which since being posted on June 3 has over 70k views, sees the pair head to some surprisingly well-known and popular spots, including Blue Lagoon and Chunky Chicken on Sauchiehall Street.
Giving each a fair pop with the meals, the pair offer some fair scores and only really criticise the service at a poorly-rated KFC (with an average 2.8 stars) over a misunderstanding to do with the water.
Heading to the Blue Lagoon at Central Station, they try the chips and new sausage éclair - which Kon says has TikTok viral potential - and describe the chips as "mid", while the pair aren't impressed by the deep-fried Mars Bar but that seems to be more to do with the concept than the dish itself.
They mainly complained about the pricing at the city centre fave in the end. In fact, across the board, Kon stated he was surprised that none of the restaurants they tried were anywhere near as bad as the impression given by some of the reviews they'd come across online.

Konstantin said: "I thought, oh yeah there'd be more like foods that are going to be gross, they're going to be disappointing, but everything has just been like bang average."

He may have spoken too soon, however, as the music video producer then went on to really dislike the pizza from a local Indian, which you can see in the video above.

After trying out food from a poorly-rated Chinese while sitting at a bus stop in Govan – which they were actually surprised by and gave a good review to – they headed to the now famous Best Kebab in the city centre.
Appearing to be closed at 4pm, they had to wait until night time to go back for their kebabs. However, after being stared down by who they believed was the owner, they end up in an altercation - and after they beat a hasty retreat, they gave it zero stars as they weren't able to actually buy any food.

'I'm an American living in the UK and can't get over three insults Brits use'

An American man who has lived in the UK for three years has shared the slang insults he can't stop saying. He's really obsessed with how 'elegant' they sound An American man who moved to the UK has shared his favourite slang insults that are used here in Blighty. Social media sensation K Jordy, who refers to himself as a "mere Yank amongst Brits", has been documenting his adventures online ever since moving three years ago. The content creator has garnered widespread attention for his candid comparisons of UK and US lifestyles, particularly in areas such as cuisine, sports, language, and leisure activities. His viral clips have proven to be so popular that he's garnered more than 20 million TikTok likes and 68,000 YouTube followers. ‌ And in his recent post, he opened up about the jibes he's adopted into vocabulary since settling in London. Praising UK slang, he said: "Have you ever been roasted, just so, elegantly? Well, today let me show you the greatest of all time British insults. You won't believe these British insults." ‌ Jordy then went on to list the following three slang words... 1. Melt Jordy said his number one British insult is calling someone a 'melt'. The term likely derives from the literal sense of "melt" – to lose composure, to dissolve, or to become weak. In London street slang, "melt" has been used for some time to describe someone who is a bit of a fool or who "melts down" emotionally. The word gained mainstream popularity through Love Island, where contestants frequently used it to mock others who were seen as acting foolishly or getting too emotionally involved. Jordy loves the slang – and shared how he'd typically use it in a sentence. He explained: "Mate, he's an absolute melt. It's someone who is like overly emotional, can be manipulated easily, weak, almost like a simp. Your girlfriend has been doing you dirty but you're still with her - what an absolute melt." ‌ 2. Donkey Jordy's second favourite British insult, which he dubs a "Hall of Fame contender", is 'donkey'. Donkey is an insult that's been used in the UK for generations – a lot like the word 'ass'. The working animals, often used for carrying loads, are unfairly stereotyped. Their association with menial labour makes people believe they're best for simple tasks only. The insult is reinforced by stories, fables (like Aesop's), and popular culture (such as the character "Donkey" in Shrek, who is lovable but often silly). ‌ Jordy said: "He might not be the smartest, might be a bit stubborn - an absolute donkey mate. And when I think of donkey I also think of Shrek." 3. Mug And "last but not least" on Jordy's list is calling someone a "mug". In the 19th to 20th Century, the word "mug" evolved in British slang to mean someone who is easily fooled, gullible, or a victim of a trick or scam. ‌ For example, people in the criminal underworld used it to describe someone who could easily be conned. Today, calling someone a "mug" is to call them an idiot, fool, or someone who's easily taken advantage of. Putting the word in context, Jordy joked: "If you are an absolute mug, you're like an idiot, you're gullible. "But here's the thing, there's also 'mugged off', almost like 'do you mistake me for a fool?'." So there you have it, three British insults that an American can't stop using! Which ones would make your list? Don't forget to leave us your thoughts in the comments section below.

Home Bargains brings back 'the best' 99p festival essential

People spotted the hygiene products that would be perfect for anyone going to events like Glastonbury or Creamfields this summer With the summer warming up, millions will be looking forward to major festivals right across the UK. With major events like Glastonbury, Creamfields and more happening this summer, more people will be planning to rough it and gain the full festival experience. However, for some, the basic washrooms will be less than ideal. If the sound of a festival shower isn't very appealing, Home Bargains has brought back what some have deemed a festival essential just in time. ‌ They were posted online by the Dansway Gifts and Bargains Facebook page. They wrote: "Festival Essentials Body Wipes, Deodorant and Face & Body Wipes BACK at Home Bargains." ‌ In the post, the shopper showed off the three different packs that would handily fit into most bags. Packets included 'Face & Body' as well as 'Deodorant' that came in packs of 25 and cost 49p. And, for those keen to avoid the festival shower zone, there are 99p 'Body Wipes' which claim to be "towel sized." These come in two packs and offer a metre-long wipe, claiming on the packet to be "perfect for when you can't shower." People were quick to react online after spotting these affordable finds. One said: "The best big body wipes invented! Never get rid of them!" Another added: "These wipes are the best!" A third wrote: "The face & body ones smell divine!" Someone else posted: "Can't stand the thought of festival showers. These will be a great compromise." A fifth commented: "I swear by the body wipes!" ‌ The wipes were last available in summer 2024. A TikTok user (@kembows) claimed they were "the Rolls-Royce of baby wipes." Someone commented on her video that they're not just good for festivals, adding: "They are absolutely amazing. I've used them loads when camping." In other Home Bargains news, shoppers were left swooning over a massive 2ft, "rustic" candle that was featured on the Home Bargains Instagram feed alongside other products in a new outdoor range. ‌ Fans of the discount store were quickly impressed by the size of the candle and its promise of bug-free evenings in the garden this summer. One said: "The long candle! Perfect for the garden table!" Also, in more recent offers, shoppers were thrilled with the option to pick up £87 worth of make-up that had been reduced to just 99p each. The latest StarBuy deals have seen the store slash a whopping 96% off three products from the same brand.
