, recently shared that he narrowly avoided being caught in a devastating cloudburst that struck Dharali village in Uttarakhand.
Semwal, who hails from Pipalkoti—a town around 327 km from Dharali—had been in the area for work until just a day before the incident. 'I'm safe, our place is safe. I'm thankful to God that I left Dharali just a day before the nightmare,' he said, recalling the close call.
Currently in Dehradun, the actor is spending time with family while helping his parents with preparations for his upcoming wedding. 'As I wasn't shooting these days, I was spending more time here in my hometown helping my parents who are preparing for my marriage, which is scheduled for November this year,' he shared.
Semwal also acknowledged the state government's efforts in managing the aftermath of the disaster. 'The government is trying its best to protect not only people but also taking measures to safeguard the flora and fauna that are suffering. I wish and pray for all for the recovery from the disaster,' he added.
On the personal front, earlier this year, on May 14, Ashutosh announced his engagement to Manisha Bhatt in an arranged marriage setup. Reflecting on their journey, he had said, 'I met her for the first time in an arranged marriage setup. Our parents introduced us. We started talking and meeting as friends and came to the conclusion that we are ready for marriage.'
