A Domino's Pizza delivery man in Mumbai was harassed by a couple who refused to pay for the order because he did not speak Marathi. The incident took place on Monday night, May 12, at a residential building in the Bhandup area, and has sparked outrage online after a video of the exchange went viral.The delivery agent, identified as Rohit Lavare, recorded the argument on his phone. In the video, the customer can be heard saying that they would pay Lavare only if he spoke Marathi.advertisementAs Lavare tried to reason with the couple, he asked, "Jabardasti hai Marathi bolne ka, par kyun? (Is there a compulsion to speak in Marathi? But why?)" To this, the woman replied, "Hai yahan pe aise hi. (Yes, this is how it is here.)"
Watch: Lavare then questioned further, saying, "Who has said this?" and added, "If that was the case, then you should not have ordered. You don't want to pay, isn't it? Fine. (Nahi aata toh phir nahi order karne ka na. Nahi dena hai na paisa, haan theek hai, theek hai)."At one point in the conversation, the woman objected to being recorded and said, "Mera video nahi nikalne ka, main tumhara video nikal sakti hoon. (You cannot record me, while I can.)" Lavare responded, "Ye kaun sa jabardasti hai? (What kind of compulsion is this?)"advertisementAs the situation escalated, a man accompanying the woman tried to shut the door, but she intervened and began recording the delivery agent. Lavare asked the couple to show if the food was in any way bad, "Dikhao na order kharab hai toh dikhao. (Show me if the food you have ordered is bad.)"The video has added fuel to the ongoing Hindi-Marathi language divide in Mumbai, where several such incidents have been reported. In April, a similar incident took place when Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) beat up a bank employee in Lonavala for not using Marathi in daily business transactions.

The AAP referring to the BJP governments at the Centre and in Delhi as well as the LG office and the MCD calls it a four-engine government. Echoing similar views, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Atishi posted on X, "Who is responsible for the rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl in Delhi? Who is responsible for the worsening law and order situation?" Despite a four-engine BJP government, "our daughters are not safe", the ex-CM said. "Where is Chief Minister Rekha Gupta? Where is the Union Home Minister Amit Shah?" she posted in Hindi.

Rapido Auto Fare Dispute Escalates Into Hindi-Kannada Clash
An auto driver has come under fire after a woman accused him of overcharging her and allegedly attempting to manipulate the situation by weaponizing language. What seemed to have begun as an argument over the fare of the ride had escalated and turned into a language dispute. The driver brought up the Kannada language during the argument, seemingly to divert attention and intimidate the passenger. In the viral video, it can be seen that the woman, who booked the ride on Rapido, is speaking in Hindi, and the driver is speaking in Kannada. As heard in the video, the woman had booked an auto ride on Rapido that was originally priced at Rs. 296. However, the driver allegedly demanded Rs. 390, leading to a heated argument between the two. The woman recorded a video, called out to the passing by auto rickshaw and said, "Bhaiya, come here, I am getting scared of him (the Rapido auto driver)." Meanwhile, the auto driver in the video is heard speaking in Kannada and pointing a finger at the woman. She then turns to English and tries to explain that while she understands Kannada, she cannot speak the language. A tourist guide in Meghalaya has told the police that the missing honeymoon couple from Indore, Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam, were accompanied by three men on May 23, the day they disappeared from the Sohra area. Raja's body was found days later in a deep gorge, while the search for Sonam is still ongoing. According to a police official, the guide's statement has been recorded as part of the ongoing investigation. Local guide Albert Pde said he saw the couple with three other men on the morning of May 23 as they climbed more than 3,000 steps from Nongriat to Mawlakhiat. 'The four men were walking ahead while the woman was behind. The four men were conversing in Hindi, but I could not understand what they were speaking as I know only Khasi and English,' Pde told PTI. Pde added that he had met the couple a day earlier, on 22 May, and offered to take them down to Nongriat, but they had hired another guide named Bha Wansai instead. When Pde reached Mawlakhiat that day, the couple's rented scooter was no longer in the parking area. Sonam's brother, Govind, who is in Shillong to help with the search, has criticised the state government's efforts. 'We strongly believe Sonam is alive. They are searching for her like she is dead,' he told PTI, urging authorities to involve the CBI or other agencies. Raja's decomposed body was discovered on June 2 near the Weisawdong waterfalls. Police said his gold ring and chain were missing, raising suspicions of foul play. The next day, a bloodstained machete was found near the area, followed by a raincoat similar to Sonam's, discovered in Mawkma village, located between Sohrarim and the gorge.
