Comedian Samay Raina and influencer Apoorva Mukhija have reunited for a quirky new ad promoting a skincare brand - and it's every bit as offbeat as you'd expect. The duo, who previously made headlines for their appearance on the controversial show 'India's Got Latent', and received backlash for their remarks, are back - this time in a parody podcast setup.Styled to mirror the ongoing podcast format, the ad, for the skincare brand Deconstruct, opens with Samay Raina welcoming Apoorva with a straight-faced 'Welcome to the podcast.'advertisementThen, true to form, he fires off a risque one-liner: "Yaar humare last meeting ke baad mujhe toh STD hi ho gaya tha (I got an STD after our last meeting).' Apoorva quickly corrects him: 'PTSD hota hai woh (That's PTSD),' to which he cheekily responds, 'Nahi nahi, mujhe STD hi hua tha – Sun Transmitted Disease,' with a smirk on his face.
Continuing in his signature style, Samay delved into his backstory: 'Woh jana pad gaya tha na Assam, Gujarat – skin damage ho gayi thi (Had to travel to Assam and Gujarat, you see – my skin got damaged)."With that, the skincare product plug began, seamlessly woven into the humour. Apoorva, staying in character, interrupted with, 'I came here for a podcast,' prompting Samay to assure her, 'Podcast karte hain,' while continuing to endorse the product.Watch the ad here: The ad cleverly balances comedy and branding, throwing in jabs at influencers Ranveer Allahbadia and Raj Shamani, talking about leaving homes following the rigorous court hearings and more. The pair's comic timing and effortless banter keep the ad engaging, with a finale full of playful exchanges that left viewers amused and impressed.Online response has been overwhelmingly positive. Fans praised the chemistry and humour, with comments like 'Best GRWM ever in the market' and 'Supreme leader take a bow. Kill kardia dono ne' flooding the post.Read a few comments here:
Apoorva, addressing the earlier 'India's Got Latent' controversy in an interview with Zoom, had said, 'I'm really happy that it happened to me. I'm grateful it happened because I realised the internet is not your reality. It is a digital world; you don't live there.'Meanwhile, Samay Raina is gearing up for his nationwide stand-up tour titled 'Alive And Unfiltered', kicking off on August 15. The buzz is real — the tour sold 40,000 tickets within the first hour of launch.- EndsMust Watch

Apoorva Mukhija aka Rebel Kid spends Rs 3 lakh on her makeover, reveals she got teeth veneers: ‘My natural was so ugly'

Popular content creator Apoorva Mukhija, better known as Rebel Kid, has just dropped a candid and humorous video on her YouTube channel, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look into her recent glow-up journey that cost her around Rs 3 lakh. In the 11-minute vlog, Apoorva shared that that she got everything from a hair makeover and teeth veneers to nails, brows, and even a facial massage, all documented with her signature self-deprecating humour and quirky commentary. The vlog opened with Apoorva introducing herself in her trademark satirical style, saying: 'Log mujhe pyaar se kuch nahi bulate hai, kyunki log mujhe pyaar se bulate hi nahi hai.' (People don't call me anything lovingly, because they don't call me with love at all.) She goes on to explain the inspiration behind this transformation, adding: 'So I started introspecting about why people didn't like me, and then I realised it's not me, it's God's fault. Kyunki bhagwan ne mujhe attitude toh Aishwarya Rai wala diya par shakal ye diya hai. Isliye today I have decided to change myself physically.' (Because God gave me Aishwarya Rai's attitude, but this face. So today I've decided to change myself physically.) Her first stop was a salon visit where she got her hair coloured, not without some light-hearted jabs at herself: 'Maine sir ko bola hai ki aap mere baal bleach nahi kar sakte, kyunki mere sar par chaar hi baal bache hai. Aur agar yeh bhi jhad gaye toh mujhe hair transplant karwana padega.' (I told the stylist not to bleach my hair because I only have four strands left on my head. If these fall out too, I'll need a hair transplant.) Joining her in the salon was fellow influencer Anmol Bhatia, who also gets her hair coloured. Apoorva wrapped up her salon visit with a pedicure before moving on to the next step in her glow-up. Also Read | Apoorva Mukhija says Nadaaniyan co-star Khushi Kapoor has insane work ethic: 'People are really harsh with nepo babies…' The video then took us to a dental clinic where Apoorva underwent teeth whitening and talked openly about getting veneers: 'This is not my actual real teeth. I absolutely hated what my actual teeth looked like. I have gotten veneers, which basically means unhone mere purane daanton ke upar naye daant laga diye hai, cement kar diya.' (They put new teeth over my original ones and cemented them in.) She also addressed the online trolling she's faced in recent weeks for her veneers: 'So, all the comments about veneers were like 'Oh my God, I'm so sad, she used to look so pretty.' And I just have one question for you all, are you all blind? People were like 'you look so unnatural', so I'm like, yeah, because my natural was so ugly.' Next, Apoorva visited her dermatologist and continued to poke fun at her own transformation: 'Mujhe vishwas nahi ho raha hai ki main life mein itni ameer ho chuki hoon ki mere paas ye bhinn-bhnn prakaar ke doctors hai. Mere papa bachpan mein ek uncle ko phone lagate the jo humari building mein rehte the, aur wohi humari saari beemariyon ka ilaaj kar dete the. Humare papa kabhi humein doctor ke paas lekar nahi jaate the, kehte the ki Combiflam kha lo, sab theek ho jaayega. But now look at me, taking six appointments in a day.' (I can't believe I've become so rich that I now have different types of doctors. As a child, my father would just call an uncle from our building to treat all our illnesses. He never took us to a doctor, he'd just say take Combiflam and everything will be fine.) She wrapped up the day with a visit to a nail salon where she opts for cat-eye nails that change colour: 'I got one of those cat-eye nails whose colour keeps changing, because for my 24th birthday, I wanted to do something that truly reflects what my life has been for the past 23 years, which is: my life surrounded by people who keep changing their colours.' In the closing moments of the video, after her glow-up is complete, Apoorva signed off in her trademark style: 'I spent close to Rs 3 lakh, and this is what I finally look like now. I honestly look the same. Whatever little difference is there is because of the makeup. Nothing really changed even after spending Rs 3 lakh, except for my teeth, which you all seem to hate. So if you liked this video, please like, share, and subscribe, and help me earn my Rs 5 lakh back.' For those unfamiliar, Apoorva Mukhija made headlines earlier this year when she appeared on comedian Samay Raina's controversial panel show India's Got Latent, alongside creators like Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani. The episode sparked massive backlash online due to its use of objectionable language, leading to FIRs against the panel members. The situation escalated so much that Apoorva was reportedly asked to vacate her rented home. Most recently, Apoorva appeared in Amazon Prime Video's reality show The Traitors and was also featured in filmmaker Farah Khan's YouTube series, where Farah visits celebrity homes with her personal chef, Dilip.

Salman Khan's Battle of Galwan Mumbai Shoot Shelved, Sets Demolished

Last Updated: Salman Khan's new film, Battle of Galwan, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict, has postponed its Mumbai schedule. Salman Khan's much-anticipated film Battle of Galwan, inspired by the 2020 conflict between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley, has seen a slight change in its shooting schedule. The Mumbai shoot, originally planned for this month, has been postponed, and the sets constructed at Mehboob Studios in Bandra are being taken down. Battle of Galwan Mumbai shoot cancelled An insider revealed to Mid-Day that the decision to postpone the Mumbai shoot was driven by creative considerations. The production is now slated to resume in Ladakh from August 22 to September 3, focusing primarily on the action sequences. The source explained that since Salman Khan sports a unique look for the film, filming with a 30-day gap between locations would affect continuity. 'Apoorva (Lakhia) felt that the sequences would need to be shot in succession. So, for now, the film's Mumbai schedule is postponed indefinitely. They will take a call in the last leg whether a song sequence or patch work needs to be done in the city," the report added. No official hurdles with the Defence Ministry Contrary to circulating rumours about possible issues with the Ministry of Defence over the film's sensitive subject, a reliable source clarified that the project is proceeding with full permissions. The film is intended to honour the courage of Indian soldiers and does not portray any nation negatively. 'The makers wouldn't have announced the film without permissions in place," the source confirmed, as reported by Mid-Day. The cast Battle of Galwan also marks a fresh collaboration between Salman Khan and actress Chitrangda Singh. The cast boasts talents including Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Harshil Shah, Heera Sohall, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Vipin Bhardwaj. Battle of Galwan is based on true events from June 2020, when Indian and Chinese soldiers fought in the remote, high-altitude Galwan Valley in Ladakh. Although there were agreements that banned the use of guns, the clash became one of the deadliest border fights in over 40 years. Despite the tough conditions, the Indian Army showed great bravery, fighting hand-to-hand using simple weapons like stones and sticks. Salman Khan's physical transformation for the film Salman Khan had earlier opened up about how demanding the project has been. 'It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I have to give more time now. Earlier, I would manage it in one or two weeks, but now I'm running, kicking, punching, and doing all that stuff. This film demands that. For instance, in Sikandar, the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult—especially shooting in Ladakh, at high altitudes and in cold water," he said. Salman also revealed what lies ahead in the shoot schedule. 'I have 20 days in Ladakh and then seven to eight days in cold water. We will be shooting this month," he added. His workout sessions go beyond typical weight training and runs. Salman also trains in a high-pressure chamber at his gym — designed to simulate the altitude of Leh and help his body adjust in advance. In addition, junk food and fizzy drinks are off the menu. Recently, the motion poster of Battle of Galwan was unveiled on social media. It shows Salman Khan with bloodstains on his face and his signature moustache, hinting at a raw, emotional portrayal of patriotism and sacrifice. The visuals promise a gripping war drama set over 15,000 feet above sea level. The official release date for Battle of Galwan is still awaited.
