Nik Nazmi accepts PKR divisional election results
Nik Nazmi who failed to defend the Setiawangsa division chief position after losing to film director and actor Datuk Afdlin Shauki, said he had used the correct channels regarding the election results.
Nik Nazmi who is also the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, was previously reported to have sent a letter of protest to the Party Election Committee (JPP) regarding the Setiawangsa division chief election results.
'I used the party's channels and anything else I will follow the party's channels as well,' he told reporters after the opening of the 'Sustainaboleh' and Green Factory Experiential Concept Store programmes here, today.
Yesterday, PKR secretary-general Dr Fuziah Salleh said the results of the PKR 2025 Elections for all 220 divisions nationwide which were recently completed had been confirmed and finalised by MPP.
Fuziah said MPP which met on Sunday was satisfied with the presentation by JPP and the international digital auditors on the results at the party's committee members as well as Wanita, and Youth wings in all divisions.

Meanwhile, activist Haji Abdul Jalil Gani felt the 'Justice For Zara' gatherings are being used by the opposition to find fault with the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government when it had nothing to do with what happened to the SMK Agama Tun Mustapha Kinarut student. Singling out the incomplete police investigations and the school management for what happened, he said: 'If from the on start the police investigation team had treated the case with the urgency it deserved and made prompt the findings, all the conspiracy theories of a cover-up due to a an alleged VIP link would not have arisen,' he said. 'When the Attorney General's Chambers returned the preliminary investigation report, it heightened suspicion among the public that there may indeed be a cover-up and so they took to the streets. "The opposition is trying to use it to their advantage knowing the State election is near,' he said. 'They accuse the Chief Minister of keeping quiet when Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor did tell the police to hurry up with the investigations and even sent a team to visit the family of Zara in Sipitang with financial assistance,' he said. 'Just because the Chief Minister prefers to do things without fanfare does not give the opposition and critics paint a different picture,' he said. Jalur Gemilang must be displayed correctly, says Loke
KUALA LUMPUR: The Jalur Gemilang, as a symbol of the nation's sovereignty, must be displayed correctly and with respect, in accordance with the law, says Anthony Loke. In a Facebook post, the DAP secretary-general said any misuse or error involving the national flag or symbols, including the Jalur Gemilang and the Malaysian Coat of Arms, are subject to the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1963. "When incidents involving flag errors occur, the police must be allowed to take appropriate action based on the principle of the Rule of Law," Loke said. Loke, who is also Transport Minister, acknowledged that while Malaysians eagerly anticipate August each year, improper display of the Jalur Gemilang had sparked heated debates on social media and could shift the focus away from National Day celebrations. "With National Day approaching, let us focus on strengthening unity, respecting our diversity, and contributing to the development and progress of the Malaysia we all cherish," he added. Meanwhile, PKR vice president Chang Lih Kang called for strict action against those found guilty of displaying the Jalur Gemilang upside down. Chang, who is also the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister said the flag, as the nation's symbol, should always be displayed correctly. "There is no reason to display the Jalur Gemilang incorrectly. It represents the spirit, struggle, and unity of all Malaysians," Chang said in a Facebook post. Chang said Malaysia's laws and enforcement bodies are well-equipped to address this issue and hoped that no one would try to incite division or hatred among the people.
