The beloved singer and songwriter told Natt Barr and Matt Shirvington after the performance that she had been thinking about her family and 'becoming a mother'.
She gushed over her seven-month-old daughter Mia, who she said has her 'first tooth coming out'.
Mauboy said that motherhood changed the way she has been writing music, and she admitted that she has also been writing lullabies.
'It's so magical, I always dreamed of this, and wanted this for myself. I have a big family. I love music and music is my baby too, and having her be a part of it, it has been magic.
'Her eyes widen, and she really breaks her neck to watch me.'
But her latest song is being enjoyed by more than just Mia, since the track dropped on Mauboy's newly-launched independent label, Jamally.
The song will also ensure there are no dry eyes next week, as it plays for Irene Roberts' farewell on Home and Away, signalling the end of a 33-year run on the show for actor Lynne McGranger, who won a Gold Logie for her work as the beloved character.
Mauboy noted that recent news of her song being featured during the history-making television moment, also had an effect on her heightened emotions on Friday.
'She's been a part of all of our lives, she's been like an aunty,' Mauboy said after the performance.
Mauboy also revealed that the song helps her connect with the public.
'I just think about everyone and their loved ones, and how much everyone is going through,' she said as she wiped her tears.
'It's wonderful to be able to write something like that for everyone to share.'

Former Home and Away stars Kate Ritchie and Isla Fisher share a peek into their 31-year friendship
Actress Isla Fisher has shared a sweet tribute to her close friend and former Home and Away co-star Kate Ritchie. On Thursday, Fisher posted a series of photos on her Instagram story to celebrate the radio host turning 47. 'Happy Birthday to the most beautiful soul inside and out! I (heart emoji) you!,' Fisher wrote alongside a throwback picture titled '31 years of friendship'. Fisher and Ritchie starred alongside each other on Seven Network's beloved soap Home and Away more than three decades ago. Fisher played Shannon Reed from 1994 to 1997 and Ritchie played Sally Fletcher from 1988 to 2008, with a brief reappearance in 2013. The two have remained close friends since first meeting on the show, with the pair often documenting their catch-ups when they're in the same country. In December, Ritchie flew to London — where Fisher currently lives — for a special Christmas reunion. 'I'm really good friends with lots of Aussies,' Fisher told 9honey at the time. 'I love Kate Ritchie.' The former TV star returned to the airwaves on August 8, following a six-month mental health break from her Nova radio show Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie. Ritchie had announced in February she was taking a break from the show. At the time, The Daily Mail had published photos of Ritchie on the phone looking distressed. The mum-of-one called out the paparazzi for invading her privacy, bravely revealing the toll it had taken on her health. Speaking on-air about her return, Ritchie revealed she was overcome with gratitude by all of the support she has received. 'The amount of people who have reached out to me over this period of time, and since earlier in the year, has been absolutely mind-blowing,' Ritchie said. 'So if you're listening and you were one of those people that reached out, or stopped me in the street. 'Or even just smiled at me over the tomatoes in Harris Farm. 'For people to bother to actually say, without being intrusive, 'Hey, it's really nice to see you, hope you're doing well. I can't wait to hear you back on the radio' ... 'Thank you for bothering, because I read all of those messages and they made all the difference.' Ritchie added kindness is what kept her going during this challenging time. 'Despite all of the support and the love I feel, I didn't do it for anyone else — I did it for me,' Ritchie shared.

Jessica Mauboy: Aussie singer reveals intimate details of sex life with husband after birth of her baby girl
Aussie songstress Jessica Mauboy welcomed the arrival of her baby girl Mia in January, but the new mother has recently admitted that her sex life has not taken a hit. If anything, she told Kyle & Jackie on Thursday that her desire to get intimate with husband Themeli Magripilis has gone into overdrive. 'I've been quite the opposite,' she told the shock-jocks. 'My ovaries are like, 'Hey girl, you want another one?'' With the radio hosts in stitches, the mother added: 'I'm like, 'well damn, I just gave birth!'' Each parents themselves, Kylie & Jackie O empathised with the mother, who begged her overactive sexual organs to slow down. 'I love that!' Kyle remarked. 'Give mumma time to recover before another one.' 'Please.... give this body.... a moment,' Mauboy joked. The 36-year-old and her husband — who is of Greek heritage — met at a nightclub in Darwin when both were 18. Engaged in 2019, the pair tied the knot in the Top End in 2022 surrounded by friends and family. Fast forward to the early stages of parenthood, Mauboy told Stellar in March that she wasn't sure how much of her personality or physical traits she wanted their Mia to inherit. 'I look at her and it's 'whoa!' because I see myself, that little frown,' Mauboy said. 'I'm not sure I want her to have my personality, because it's rough and it's tough … She's constantly changing every day, another little roll, another crease.' In July, the singer told fans she's got 'new music coming', before releasing her single While I Got Time on August 1. She was inducted into the National Indigenous Music Awards Hall of Fame on Saturday.
