PlayStation's epic new sale has some of my favorite PS5 games from $5 — here's 11 deals I'm adding to my cart
PlayStation Store just launched its annual Mid-Year sale, and this year's crop of discounts across PS5 and PS4 games is pretty excellent. While there's a disappointing lack of deals on PlayStation Studio titles like God of War and Spider-Man, there are big savings on plenty of must-play PS5 games right now.
Some of my personal favorite deals include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition for $9, which is a frankly ridiculous price for a high-quality RPG that will easily last you more than 100 hours.
There's also the excellent Dragon's Dogma 2 for $29 and the seriously tough, but very satisfying, Black Myth: Wukong for $47, which is its lowest price to date. Bargain chasers won't want to miss Metro Exodus for just $5.
I'm rounding up the PS5 game deals that have caught my eye in this new PlayStation Store sale down below. But for those gamers who prefer a physical disc over a digital download, I've also scoured retailers like Amazon and Best Buy for their best PS5 deals as well.
After more than a decade of waiting, EA has returned to the world of NCAA football in the appropriately titled College Football 25. And this simulation of college football was worth the weight. Offering a slightly more arcade-style pace than its Madden sibling, and letting you play as the biggest schools in the country, it lived up to all those years of anticipation.
Return to a galaxy far, far away in the biggest Lego Star Wars game to date. Experience the entirety of The Skywalker Saga in plastic-brick form and collect more than 300 playable characters as you smash everything in sight. From The Phantom Menace through The Rise of Skywalker, this is the ultimate retelling of the greatest sci-fi sagas ever told.
Step back into the space boots of Isaac Clarke in this remake of the legendary sci-fi survival horror, Dead Space. The USG Ishimura has been overrun with nightmarish enemies, and it's your job to discover the source of the outbreak while trying to keep your sanity in check. You'll need to conserve your resources by strategically dismembering enemies.
Dead Island 2 offers players a sun-soaked playground crawling with the undead. Using just about any weapon you can get your hands on, it's your job to slay your throughway Hell-A from the mansions of Beverly Hills to the boardwalk of Venice Beach. Fully playable in co-op, Dead Island 2 is a rip-roaring open-world game full of zombies to slaughter, survivors to assist and loot to collect.
Atlus's Persona series has a strong pedigree, and this full-fledged remake brings the Persona 3 story to the current console generation so franchise veterans and newcomers can experience it. Part social sim and part JRPG, Persona 3 Reload updates the visuals and incorporates many quality-of-life improvements and new elements, bringing the original tale up to date and making this another must-play RPG.
Enjoy the acclaimed Metal Gear Solid franchise from the very start in this first installment in the Master Collection series. This package offers strong value, containing Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, along with the original two Metal Gear games and a host of supplemental content, including digital art collections and novels. It is the perfect package for veteran MGS fans or newcomers to the storied franchise.
The sequel to one of the most acclaimed PlayStation games of all time, God of War Ragnarök sees father and son duo Kratos and Atreus embark on another epic journey as they travel across all Nine Realms of Norse mythology. Enjoy visceral combat against a multitude of foes, as well as rewarding exploration and a highly cinematic story that culminates in a stunning finale that you won't soon forget.
The Last of Us Part 1 is a stunning remake of the PS3 original, completely rebuilt from the ground up to take full advantage of the PS5 console. It includes the full original game as well as its DLC chapter, Left Behind. This is the ideal pick for fans of the HBO show ahead of season 2 or returning players looking to experience Joel and Ellie's first gripping cross-country adventure all over again.
Star Wars Outlaws represents a new frontier for a Galaxy far, far away as it's the first-ever open-world game set in the iconic sci-fi universe. You play a Han Solo-type named Kay Vess, as you explore various planets and navigate criminal syndicates and the sinister Galactic Empire.
One of 2023's most pleasant surprises, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora doesn't switch up the Ubisoft open-world formula seen in games like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. But the alien setting of Pandora makes everything feel brand new, and it's one of the most visually impressive games on PS5. Even if you're not enamored with the Avatar movies, you might be surprised by this one.
Sonic X Shadow Generations combines a remaster of 2011's Sonic Generations, a love letter to the Blue Blur that remains a fan-favorite to this day, with a new Shadow-focused campaign. It's a strong package, and it was perfectly timed to coincide with the latest Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie.
Metaphor ReFantazio, an original fantasy adventure that combines social sim elements with stylish turn-based combat, comes from the creator of the acclaimed Persona series. Yes, it's basically Persona in a fantasy setting, but that's a recipe for success, and Metaphor easily gets its hooks into you. It's also meaty, with even a rushed playthrough taking several dozen hours.
Following this year's dramatic Masters tournament, now is the time to step out onto the links and prove yourself a golfing whiz, at least in the virtual world. PGA Tour 2K25 is the latest entry in the annual sports sim series, and boasts the level of authenticity you'd expect from a 2K game.
Civilization VII makes some of the biggest changes yet to the established formula, and while not all of these additions are necessarily for the best, it remains one of the deepest strategy games on the market. This is a game you can play for literally thousands of hours.
The best way of playing the GOTY-nominated expansion is to pick up this bundle, which includes both the downloadable content pack 'Shadow of the Erdtree' and the base game of Elden Ring. Don't be fooled, in terms of content, this is essentially two games in one. Be prepared for difficult boss fights and in-depth exploration of a beautifully realized world.

And I have to say, these are just as comfy as any of those. I've probably owned 50 pair of ballet flats over the years, and I'd rank these right up there with shoes that cost three or four times as much. They fit perfectly (I love that they come in wide!) and are so comfortable to wear, even if you're doing lots of walking. Even though they're not leather, they do have some give to them. I'm so glad I bought multiple colors and will probably buy more!" —CaliGirl89TopGet it from Amazon for $21.10 (available in sizes 5–15, two widths, and 23 colors). They also have traction on the sole so you won't slip and slide while strutting your stuff. Promising review: "I barely got the shoes out of the box and I had to review! These shoes are awesome! I normally buy a size bigger than what I need because I have a wide foot but this time I decided to get a size closer to my size and chose a wide and this fits so amazing! I almost forgot what it felt like to wear the size I actually need, thank you so much for offering these shoes and at such as affordable price! I will purchase more in the future." —LovelyLadySGet it from Amazon for $44.99 (available in sizes 5–11, two widths, and two colors). I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they were! I wore them ALL day, from before the ceremony until the time we got home after dancing all night at the reception. The low wedge was perfect for taking pictures outside in the grass. I have pretty wide/thick feet, and these shoes (in my normal shoe size) fit without issue." —E. RabGet them from Amazon for $36.99 (available in sizes 5–11, two widths, and 18 colors). Faux suede heels with a strappy lace-up design that's equal parts whimsical and stylish. The low, chunky heel also gets rave reviews for feeling supportive, sturdy, and surprisingly lightweight. Promising review: These are honestly my favorite! For someone with wide feet, they fit like a glove! They are also very comfortable to wear all night. I'm definitely buying all the other colors!" —MelaniemayelaGet them from Amazon for $40.99+ (available in sizes 4.5–10.5 and 13 colors). Dressy lace-ups that are way cuter than a pair of Oxfords has any right to be. That platform sole is truly next level and helps them achieve the hardest shoe feat: looking both dressy and casual at the same time. Promising review: "I normally don't leave reviews for shoes, but these are one of the exceptions where I enjoy them so much that I have to leave the review. I have wide-width foot and it is very hard to find a pair of shoes that doesn't require break-in period. This dress shoes not only cute, fashionable, but also surprisingly very comfortable. I took train to work so the trip requires me to walk and stand a lot. Right now it's 4 p.m. and I still have the shoes on my feet. Good gracious lord. I might as well get another pair in red, because I love them too much!!" —Mama Panda Get them from Amazon for $33.99+ (available in sizes 5–10 and 11 colors). A pair of faux-suede strappy sandals with a supportive chunky heel and an adjustable buckle at the ankle so you can power walk without fear of accidentally kicking them off and down the sidewalk. Braided rope sandals reviewers say are wide enough to comfortably support all your toes without feeling bulky and oversized. Plus, the straps will add a nice boho touch to your favorite summer dresses. Promising review: "I love these! I bought them in yellow/gold and black for my European vacation. I have wide feet and I have problems finding shoes that are comfortable. The style works for me because they wrap around the wide part and they are soooo comfortable. I was amazed at how great they are!" —JenniferGet them from Amazon for $29.71 (available in sizes 5–11 and 25 colors). To learn more about these, check out our Plaka sandal deep dive. A pair of slip-resistant sandals with fully elastic (aka super duper stretchy) straps that will conform to your feet and basically feel like a comforting hug in shoe form. Promising review: "I really love these. They're very comfortable and look good with just about everything. I followed the advice in other reviews and got a size down as they do run big. I usually wear an 8.5 and got an 8. The 8 fit perfectly. As I have wide feet, I always have to worry about the front straps, but since in these it's elastic it was no problem. I really love them and would definitely buy again." —JackGet them from Amazon for $19.99 (available in sizes 5–11 and eight colors). A pair of Clarks to make you re-think every thing you ever knew about loafers. These aren't the boxy, stuffy designs you're probably used to — they're sleek and lightweight with enough stretch to let your feet breathe. A classic pair of machine-washable Toms for the days when you need to slip something on quickly and have zero time to match it to your outfit. Don't worry — Toms go with everything. These have been a reviewer favorite for years thanks to their lightweight, barely-there feel. Oh, and socks are optional! A pair of faux leather Blowfish Malibu sandals — the fisherman-inspired straps and faux cork midsole give these a certain shoreline-chic aesthetic. Is that a thing? Well you're about to make it one!!! Rugged mid-calf rain boots with a cute quilted design that are almost too cute to get rained on. Reviewers say they're lightweight, easy to slip on and off, and provide plenty of traction. A pair of platform sandals that give you the classic espadrille sole without the often-uncomfy wedge design. The cork footbed also offers a good amount of arch support, so you won't regret opting for these when bottomless brunch turns into a whole afternoon of bar hopping. A pair of sock-sneakers — they're breathable enough for jogging on a warm summer day yet cozy enough for taking a stroll in the winter, so they're about to be your year-round go-to shoe. The air cushion also keeps them bouncy and supportive enough to keep your feet feeling their best on all your afternoon walks. A pair of Cushionaire cork footbed sandals with insoles made of suede and memory foam that form to your feet over time. Plus, the adjustable straps will give you an even more customized fit, so you'll feel like these were tailor-made just for you. When your feet are no longer sore and blistered from shoving them in narrow shoes: The reviews for this post have been edited for length and clarity.

Deal: Yaber L2S projector drops to record low price, only $134.99!
Projectors don't have to be huge and expensive anymore. Yaber proves to us that projectors can be small, cheap, and still offer a pretty pleasant viewing experience for those magical movie nights! The Yaber L2S usually costs only $199.99, but right now you can get it significantly cheaper, as it's on sale for just $134.99. Buy the Yaber L2S projector for just $134.99 ($65 off) This offer is available from Amazon. It's labeled as a 'limited time deal,' and the discount applies to both color versions available: Misty White and Charcoal White. Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema Yaber Projector L2s Home Cinema See price at Amazon Save $65.00 Limited Time Deal! Our sister site, has already tested and reviewed the Yaber L2S projector, and our co-workers were very happy with its simple, clean, and compact design. The fan is also very quiet, which is always a concern with projectors. More importantly, it is a very simple and user-friendly projector to use, making it a great consumer product for anyone. Both maintenance and operation are very simple. As a projector, it works decently. Of course, there are many better projectors out there, but this one is way too good considering its low price. It has a Full HD 1,080p resolution and a 700-lumen brightness. The image can also be expanded up to 150 inches, so it can turn your living room into a small movie theater. Not only that, but the Yaber L2S comes with a couple of 8W JBL-powered speakers. We found them to be pretty good compared to most other projector speakers, but don't expect them to blow you away either. My only real complaint is that it has no smart TV operating system. Again, though, this thing is just $134.99 right now. You can't really get too picky, and you can easily hook a smart TV box to it, such as a Google TV Streamer, a Fire TV device, or a Roku streamer. Of course, it has an HDMI port, so you can also use any console, computer, or any other device with it. Also, the Yaber L2S has no integrated battery, so you'll have to plug it in for it to work. Again, we can't get too picky, considering the price! This is one heck of a deal if you're looking to upgrade your movie nights but would rather not spend an arm and a leg on it. At just $134.99, it is way too simple to justify this purchase! Again, this is a record-low price, and such deals don't usually last very long. Grab yours while you can.

3 new PlayStation Plus games to play this weekend (June 20-22)
More and more I am finding myself getting more excited for the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game announcements than the Essential ones. It always varies, but months like this are some of my favorites. We are getting treated to a day one release, a ton of sleeper hits that didn't get enough attention, and one influential PS2 classic that is great to have available as a PS5 game. Today also just so happens to be the first day of summer, so what better time than now to close the curtains, crank up the AC, and play some great games courtesy of PS Plus? This is my hand-picked selection of PlayStation Plus games you need to play this weekend. FBC: Firebreak We knew FBC: Firebreak would be a day one addition to PS Plus for a while, and it is finally here. Coming from Remedy, and set in the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak is a big departure from the studio's other work. Instead of a single player third-person shooter, this is a multiplayer co-op FPS a bit in the style of Left 4 Dead, only here you can only team up in groups of three. The game is set in The Oldest House where you will take on the Hiss and plenty of strange and unexpected challenges, such as fighting a giant sticky note monster. There are a ton of options for how long rounds take and how challenging they are, plus a nice set of unlockables and perks to unlock over time. Recommended Videos FBC: Firebreak is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Before the Suikoden remasters were even announced, original creator Yoshitaka Murayama founded a new team to create a spiritual successor. The result is the fantastic throwback JRPG called Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. The story takes place in a fantasy world called Allraan amidst an ongoing war led by the Galdean Empire. The two main characters go on an epic quest across the entire world to find allies of all kinds. As you might guess from the title, there are over 100 in total to find, but you will need to go out of your way to find most of them. Its turn-based battles are gripping, but slightly bogged down by a strict adherence to tradition. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC. Deus Ex: The Conspiracy All modern immersive sim games owe some debt to Deus Ex for showing the potential of such a malleable game design ethos. Set in the distant future of 2052, you play as JC Denton in a world rife with terrorism, plagues, and rampant drug and nanotechnology use. Despite easily seeing its age in the visuals and some clunky controls, the amount of player freedom still feels surprising. You can approach any mission in dozens of ways using your skills, tech, traversal methods, and exploiting the game's systems. This isn't a game to play if you are looking for solid combat, but is a fantastic story and deeply rewarding if you experiment with all the tools it gives you. Deus Ex: The Conspiracy is available now on PS4, PS5, and PC.
