F1 Drivers And Team Members Arrive In Kingdom Ahead Of Bahrain GP
Following an exciting race in Japan last Sunday, the F1 community had no time to rest as they made the long trip from the Far East to Bahrain ahead of the upcoming Sakhir spectacle, taking place Friday to Sunday, April 11-13, at 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East'.
A number of top drivers were seen touching down with team members today along with F1 and Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) officials at Bahrain International Airport.
Among them were two-time former world champion Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin, Andrea Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes, Carlos Sainz and Alexander Albon of Williams, Yuki Tsunoda of Red Bull Racing, Esteban Ocon of Haas, and Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson of Racing Bulls, along with their team principal Laurent Mekies.
They were received by members of BIC's Meet and Greet Team, who assisted them in their arrival formalities and with their transportation arrangements to their respective residences for the week.
The rest of F1's star-studded 20-driver field are expected to arrive within the next several hours and be at BIC on Wednesday (Editor's note: 9 April).
Excitement is now at fever pitch for the F1 extravaganza, featuring loads of top-class motorsport and entertainment. It is expected to be yet another record-breaking event for the Kingdom and BIC.
All grandstand tickets to the race weekend have already completely sold out, including seats at the Main, Turn 1, Beyon, University, and Victory grandstands.
Fans who have missed out on these seats can still get tickets to BIC's last remaining hospitality option, The Dome by F1 Experiences, but there is only very limited availability. This is a unique way to enjoy the F1 weekend, with plenty of exclusive offerings throughout the three days.
BIC's other hospitality options, including the Paddock Club, Corporate Lounges, and Champions Club, are all also completely sold out, so fans interested in being a part of the F1 spectacle must act fast to secure their passes to The Dome by F1 Experiences.
The Dome by F1 Experiences features a dedicated grandstand located along the Main Straight with comfortable, seat-back style seating.
Fans can enjoy exceptional views of the Podium and pit entry, and also see the cars as they navigate the final turn before accelerating down the track. The package also includes complimentary lunch dishes, lite bites, refreshments and live performances by DJs, roaming entertainers and more between track sessions.

A special charity auction has been launched by BIC in the lead-up to F1 weekend, aiming to raise money for the Royal Humanitarian Foundation. With the generosity of many of the F1 teams, BIC has gathered an incredible selection of unique items of F1 memorabilia along with donations from Gulf Air.

Antonelli paying price for ‘wrong steps' by Mercedes
Mercedes have made mistakes in developing their Formula One car and teenage Italian rookie Kimi Antonelli's struggles are a consequence of that, according to technical director James Allison. Antonelli, 18, finished third in Canada in June for his first F1 podium but has since failed to score. He has had two retirements since Montreal as well as 17th in a sprint race in Belgium last Saturday and then 16th in Sunday's main grand prix. The Italian, who took a sprint pole in Miami and is the sport's youngest ever race leader, has retired four times in the last seven rounds and admitted in Belgium he was lacking confidence in the car and not driving as he would like. 'I think he's, like the rest of us, massively fed up with a string of results that are well below what we were collectively achieving earlier in the year,' Allison said in an interview. 'I hope he takes some solace from the fact that we tell him, and it's demonstrably a fact, that we have taken the wrong steps with the car, making our team less competitive, and that he is paying the price for that, as is George (Russell). 'If the car isn't where it needs to be, then it will be a struggle getting through the qualifying stages in your rookie season in F1.' Allison said it was 'utterly clear' to everyone that the car needed to be better and Antonelli's fortunes would improve when it was. 'Hopefully he's listening to us as we say those reassuring words because we absolutely know that he is putting in the effort on his side of that bargain,' he added. Mercedes are third overall, 28 points behind second-placed Ferrari, with one win by Russell in Canada. Russell has been on the podium five times and is fourth overall with 157 points to Antonelli's 63. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, whose seat Antonelli took when the Briton moved to Ferrari, showed his support for the Italian after Saturday qualifying at Spa. 'He was telling me to keep my head up, and that it's normal to have bad weekends, and to just keep believing,' the Italian told reporters. Hamilton told Sky Sports television he could not imagine what the rookie was going through. 'He's been doing fantastic. But to be thrown in at the deep end at 18... he hadn't even had his driving licence when he first started racing,' he said.
