McLaren W1: The Next Chapter in Performance
Unveiled globally in October 2024, the McLaren W1 is the successor to the legendary McLaren F1 and P1. It's the fastest-accelerating and fastest-lapping road-legal McLaren ever built, powered by a V8 hybrid engine producing 1,275PS – more than any other McLaren to date. It's quicker than the Speedtail to 300 km/h and three seconds faster per lap than the McLaren Senna on the company's test track.
750S Le Mans: Honoring a Racing Milestone
Also debuting in the Americas is the 750S Le Mans, marking 30 years since McLaren's famous 1995 victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Inspired by the winning #59 F1 GTR, it comes in Le Mans Grey or McLaren Orange, and features a roof scoop, LM wheels, and a McLaren Special Operations High Downforce Kit for improved aerodynamics and track performance.
States of Endurance: From Monterey to Miami
The event will also kick off 'States of Endurance,' a coast-to-coast tribute to McLaren's Le Mans victory. Three road cars – an Artura Spider and two 750S models – will travel from Monterey to Miami, covering a distance similar to the 24-hour race. Each car will sport a special wrap inspired by different times of day during endurance racing: day, dawn, and night.
Car enthusiasts attending Exotics on Broadway can expect to witness a rare gathering of McLaren's past, present, and future – all in one place.

Verstappen and Hamilton unhappy with ‘overcautious' rain delay at Spa
Multiple world champions Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton both accused race organisers of being overcautious on Sunday when the start of the Belgian Grand Prix was delayed by 80 minutes following heavy rain. Four-time world champion Verstappen said he believed that instead of suspending the race after one formation lap behind the Safety Car, Race Control should have kept the field out on the track to clear standing water. 'It wasn't even raining,' he said, referring to the decision taken at the scheduled race start time of 1500 local time (1300 GMT). 'Of course, between Turns One and Five, there was quite a bit of water. 'But if you do two or three laps behind the Safety Car, then it would have been a lot more clear -- and the rest of the track was ready to go anyway. 'It's a bit of a shame. I knew that they would be a bit more cautious because of Silverstone, but this also didn't make sense. 'Then, it's better to say 'let's wait until it's completely dry' and we'll start on slicks because this is not really wet weather racing for me.' Instead of staying out, however, the field were taken back into the pit lane to wait for more than an hour, waiting until improved weather conditions prevailed. The race then began with a rolling start after four laps behind the Safety Car. Verstappen finished off the podium for the third consecutive race as series leader Oscar Piastri led team-mate Lando Norris home in a convincing McLaren 1-2. 'Over-reacting' Ferrari's Hamilton said race organisers had over-reacted after Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli and Alpine's Isack Hadjar collided at Silverstone in poor visibility. 'We started the race a little bit too late, I would say,' he said. ''I kept shouting that 'it's ready to go it's ready to go', but they kept going round and round. 'I think they're probably over-reacting from the last race, where we asked them not to restart the race too early because the visibility was bad. 'This weekend, I think they just went too far the other way. We didn't need a rolling start.' After a disappointing Saturday when he was twice eliminated in the first part of qualifying, for the sprint race and the Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion responded with a rousing drive through the field from 18th to finish seventh.

Chinese Manufacturer is Aiming to Take Ferrari and Mclaren
A Chinese manufacturer, Great Wall Motors (GWM), best known for its electric hatchbacks, is creating its own PHEV supercar with a custom hybrid powertrain that aims to take on Ferrari and McLaren. As the new age of manufacturing has well and truly dawned, the fastest cars on the planet are combining the signature engines of old with zippy new motors. Marrying the thrust of electricity with the roar of combustion engines, these best-of-both-world supercars are the future. Now, one Chinese manufacturer is making the massive step from standard road cars to PHEV, AKA Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, supercar making, and it's wildly optimistic. Already, Chinese manufacturers have crafted some undeniably great supercars. Specifically, the YangWang U9 is one of the best in the business, capable of dancing and bunnyhopping, setting blistering records, and looking good in the process. Now, other manufacturers are looking to replicate BYD's success on this front. Specifically, hatchback and SUV maker GWM has been building its own PHEV supercar for five years, and has even crafted a custom 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine to join the electric motors in the powertrain. GWM The unnamed car has yet to be unveiled in full, however. In fact, we know little more than the fact that it will have a carbon fiber cabin, as GWM pulled in the help of some European counterparts, given 'no company in China can do a good job' with the popular material. Aside from that, and the engine, which is expected to pump out 600hp alone, the Chinese racer is shrouded with mystery. However, the company thinks it can challenge the best of the best in the hybrid division, including the Ferrari SF90 and McLaren Atura. The PHEV supercar era is well and truly stacked, as of 2025. McLaren has come out swinging with the Atura, and will be combining successes on all fronts with the W1. Lamborghini also came out swinging with the Revuelto's dual-motor and V12 combo, earning over 1,000hp. And, the Corvette ZR1X is showing that America can hold its own here too. GWM has tipped its hat at the Ferrari, though, as Chairman Wei Jianjun was recently snapped driving a Rosso red SF90. Having been asked about it, Chief Technology Officer, Wu Huixiao, simply said: 'What we do is definitely better than theirs.' Still, Ferrari ripped up the script on hybrids with the seriously impressive 296 Speciale coming in 2026. Ferrari These hybrid electric-combustion racers are certainly a step towards a faster future, but don't expect a full EV lineup of supercars just yet.
