Police arrest wanted man on gun, drug charges in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – A wanted man was arrested Saturday morning while police conducted proactive efforts in Asheville.
The Asheville Police Department said 37-year-old Brandon Norrelle Miller was a wanted felon who was taken into custody Saturday while officers conducted proactive efforts near the 100 block of Atkinson Street.
According to reports, officers saw Miller in possession of an AR pistol and made contact. Police said Miller was arrested without incident but, during the arrest, was found to be in possession of a firearm and drugs.
Miller has been arrested and charged with the following:
Firearm by felon
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver schedule IV
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver within 1,000 feet of a school
Going armed to the terror of the public
Carrying concealed gun
Second degree trespass
Miller was also served a warrant on the felony charge of flee to elude.
He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $25,000 secured bond.

Several people called reporting seeing the moose, and she was safely captured and transported back to the mountains. The Arvada Police Department said in the post on Facebook: 'Our Animal Management Officers stated, 'She really did lead us on a wild Moose chase'! (They made us write that.)' Bellmead, Tx (FOX44) – A 27-year-old woman is accused of ramming a female pedestrian with her vehicle during an argument in Bellmead Tuesday. Dasheka Vonte Wiley was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the incident which occurred outside the Econo Lodge on the I-35 North access road about 6:35 a.m. Tuesday. An arrest affidavit filed in the case stated that Wiley had been in an argument with the father of her child and another woman. The affidavit stated that the victim slapped Wiley's 2017 Jeep Patriot with her hand and Wiley drove away. The affidavit stated that moments later, the Jeep returned and was angled toward the victims with Hickey being hit. The affidavit stated that the jeep was driven around in what was described as an attempt to strike the victim another time. GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — According to the North Carolina Department of Justice, Jesus Anibal Gutierrez had been sentenced to twelve and a half years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing crystal methamphetamine in Goldsboro. According to the court documents and other information presented in court, the investigation began in July 2023, when law enforcement learned that a Mexico-based drug trafficker had arranged to send significant quantities of narcotics to the Eastern District of North Carolina.\ With the assistance of a confidential informant, law enforcement located the courier's car and conducted a traffic stop. A K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the car, and law enforcement seized approximately 20.74 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, as well as three cellular telephones. Gutierrez was a passenger in the car and admitted to law enforcement that he coordinated the shipment of narcotics and was traveling to the Goldsboro area to deliver them.
