Julian McMahon's Manner Of Death Ruled As Natural Days After His Passing

Yahoo11-07-2025
The mystery behind Julian McMahon's death is finally over, thanks to his autopsy report.
The Australian actor died on July 2 at 56 following a private battle with cancer. His wife, Kelly, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a poignant statement that captured her loss and love for her longtime partner.
Julian McMahon is survived by Kelly and his daughter Madison, whom he welcomed with ex-wife Brooke Burns.
McMahon's cause of death was revealed in a Cremation Approval Summary Report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office in Florida. The report obtained by PEOPLE revealed the TV personality had succumbed to lung metastasis.
Lung metastasis or secondary cancer, per WebMD, occurs when the cancer cells from a primary site travel to the lungs. It is a life-threatening condition that reportedly plagues about a third of the people who have cancer. In McMahon's case, the cancer cells spread from the head and neck regions.
The actor's manner of death was ruled as natural, with his cause of death listed as lung metastasis stemming from head and neck metastatic cancer. McMahon's remains have since been cremated, bringing closure to his loved ones days after his wife confirmed his passing.
News of McMahon's cancer battle came through his wife in an emotional statement where she confirmed his death. The Blast covered the story, reporting that she revealed her husband had valiantly fought against cancer behind closed doors.
"Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible," the grieving wife claimed. She thanked fans for their support but implored them for privacy.
"We wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories," the poignant message concluded. McMahon's death broke several hearts and changed fans' perspective about his last public appearance.
McMahon graced the red carpet for the last time in Austin to promote 2024's "The Surfer," which has become one of the final movies he shot before his death. He rocked a classic black suit with a white shirt and a black bow tie, flashing a warm smile for the cameras.
Although he tried to appear in high spirits while posing for pictures with his co-stars, including Hollywood veteran Nicolas Cage, McMahon's frail appearance did not go unnoticed. The late actor had lost significant weight and looked exhausted.
Thanks to his wife's revelation of his hidden cancer battle, McMahon's frail appearance changed the perspective of many about his last red carpet appearance. Tributes poured in from around the entertainment industry, including a heartwarming post from the TV personality's ex-wife.
Days after McMahon's passing, his former partner, Brooke Burns, broke her silence about his death on Instagram. The Blast shared that she dropped a throwback picture of her ex-husband posing with their daughter alongside the words "Rest in Peace."
Burns and McMahon tied the knot in 1999 and divorced in 2001, a year after their daughter's birth. Their short-lived union seemed to have done a number on them, as they did not remarry for over a decade.
The "Baywatch" star moved on with director Gavin O'Connor in 2013 while McMahon married his third and final wife in July 2014. The late actor first walked down the aisle in 1994 when he married singer and actress Dannii Minogue.
Besides Burns, McMahon also received tributes from his "Charmed" co-stars, actor Brian Krause and actresses Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs. Hollywood veteran Cage also honored McMahon, labeling him one of his favorite people.
The Australian-born actor was the only son of Sir William McMahon, a former Prime Minister, and the heiress Sonia McMahon. He made his acting debut in "The Power, The Passion," playing the character Kane Edmonds in the short-lived daytime soap opera.
He gained fame for starring as Ben Lucini, a soldier, in "Home and Away." However, his big break did not come until he scored a part in the 1993 soap opera "Another World." He gained more recognition for his TV performances, including Detective John Grant in the "Profiler" and Cole Turner in "Charmed."
McMahon was also famous for portraying Dr. Christian Troy in "Nip/Tuck," Doctor Doom in the "Fantastic Four" duology, Jonah in "Runaways," and Jess LaCroix in "FBI: Most Wanted." The final movies he shot before his death include "The Surfer" and "The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat," per Wikipedia.
Rest in peace, Julian McMahon!

‘Cosby Show' star Malcolm-Jamal Warner dead at 54 after drowning

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor most famous for playing Theo Huxtable on 'The Cosby Show,' has died. He was 54. Warner died by drowning on a family trip to Costa Rica, People magazine reported Monday. Though he compiled a long and varied acting resume, Warner remained best-known for his first big role, as the only son of Bill Cosby's character Cliff Huxtable on 'The Cosby Show.' Warner was only a teenager when he was first cast in the show, and Cosby picked him personally. 'My biggest concern is when it comes to images of people of color on television and film, no matter what … negative stereotypes of people of color, we've always had 'The Cosby Show' to hold up against that,' Warner said in a 2015 interview, after the show's biggest star was accused of rape and sexual assault by several women. 'And the fact that we no longer have that, that's the thing that saddens me.' As an adult, Warner starred on 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'The People v. O.J. Simpson,' among several other shows and movies. Most recently, Warner started a podcast called 'Not All Hood' with Weusi Baraka and Candace Kelley about the various identities and perceptions of Black people throughout the U.S. ----------
