Polestar offers end of financial year discounts of up to $29,000

7NEWS09-06-2025
Polestar is offering sizeable end of year discounts across its three-model electric vehicle (EV) lineup until June 30, 2025 or while stocks last.
A free Plus Pack upgrade is now available for selected pre-configured Polestar 3 large SUV, Polestar 4 mid-size SUV and 2025 Polestar 2 fastback vehicles ordered between June 2 and June 30, 2025, and delivered by July 31, 2025.
Polestar says that for vehicle configurations with or without the Plus Pack, an equivalent discount will be applied, ie: $3900 for the MY25 Polestar 2, $8000 for the Polestar 4 and $9000 for the Polestar 3.
Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now.
The Plus Pack discount offer cannot be combined with any other Polestar campaign incentives, fleet incentives, finance offers, or discounts, except for the Drivetrain Upgrade now also available for pre-configured Polestar 3s.
Indeed the biggest discounts are reserved for the Polestar 3 flagship electric SUV, in the form of a free dual-motor powertrain valued at up to $20,000, in addition to the free Plus Pack upgrade valued at $9000.
Polestar 3 buyers will therefore not only receive a Long range Dual motor version for the price of a Long range Single motor, but also a complimentary Plus pack bringing several interior, exterior, comfort and charging upgrades.
Among the pre-configured examples listed as being available in New South Wales on the Polestar Australia website is a MY25 Polestar 3 Long range Dual motor for $115,654 drive-away, rather than $142,954 drive-away – a saving of $27,300.
Both the range-wide Plus Pack upgrade and the Polestar 3 drivetrain upgrade applies to all pre-configured vehicles ordered between June 2, 2025 and June 30, 2025, and delivered by July 31, 2025.
Buyers of pre-configured MY23 and MY24 Polestar vehicles ordered by June 30 will also pay just $54,000 drive-away for the entry-level rear-wheel drive variant – down from the normal price of $62,400 before on-road costs.
Until June 30, Polestar Australia is also offering new customers a $200 saving on the purchase and standard installation of a solar-ready Evnex home charger.
End of financial year novated lease deals are also available for the Polestar 2 and Polestar 4, priced from $199 and $249 per week respectively, including running costs.
This is based on a fully maintained novated lease administered by Leaselab over a five-year term, after which a residual value of 28.13 per cent of the purchase price is payable.

Huge Aus industry is fed up with Albo

Don't miss out on the headlines from Motoring. Followed categories will be added to My News. A top electric vehicle brand has accused the government of 'conveniently ignoring' massive tax concessions handed to fuel-hungry utes, while considering cuts to electric vehicle incentives in the name of cost-efficiency. In response to the Productivity Commission's recommendation to scrap Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Polestar Australia's managing director Scott Maynard said the government is targeting the wrong policy if it's serious about reaching net-zero transport emissions. 'The FBT exemption for electric vehicles is a necessary exemption to drive uptake,' he said. RELATED: Carmaker's fury over Albo's new road tax Forget the dog, Albo and Jim have EV tax concessions on their mind. Maynard explained that EVs still make up 'just under 7 per cent' of new car sales, below the government's projections, so 'it should still be within the budgeted range'. The FBT exemption, introduced in 2022, currently allows EV vehicles under approximately $90,000 to be purchased through novated leases tax-free, saving buyers thousands. However, the Productivity Commission recently labelled the FBT exemption 'duplicative' alongside the New Vehicle Efficency Standards (NVES), but Polestar says the two work together – not against each other. 'The NVES fines car brands that are unable, or unwilling, to alter their product offering to Australian new car buyers to include more low-emission and zero-emission vehicles,' he said. 'The FBT exemption, by comparison, rewards motorists for making the transition to electric vehicles, which have ended up on sale directly as a result of the NVES policy. Picture: Supplied OH, THE IRONY Maynard described the system as a necessary 'push' and 'pull', with NVES pressuring automakers to supply greener vehicles, and FBT incentives helping customers afford them. Polestar said the irony is that while EV tax breaks are under scrutiny, guzzling trucks continue to enjoy taxpayer support and distort the market. 'We are supportive of tax breaks for tools of trade vehicles, such as single-cab utes; however, it's clear we have gone well beyond what's reasonable when dual-cab utes are disproportionately represented in our top-selling vehicle lists,' Maynard said. With many variants priced well over $100,000, there is no case to continue supporting these trucks with FBT exemptions and Luxury Car Tax concessions,' Maynard said. 'It's clear that tax concessions are distorting the popularity of these vehicles, which are being subsidised by taxpayers.' 2026 Nissan X-Trail Nismo revealed as performance-focused hybrid SUV

The Nissan X-Trail Nismo is the spiciest version of the popular mid-size SUV yet… but it's not coming to Australia. Nissan Australia has confirmed the new range-topping X-Trail is exclusive to the Japanese market, where it'll launch in September and join an array of other Nismo-fettled models we miss out on such as the Leaf Nismo, Note Nismo, and Skyline Nismo. This is the first time the X-Trail has worn the Nismo nameplate, and it has received various mechanical enhancements to improve its dynamics with Nissan claiming it offers 'excellent cornering ability, enjoyable acceleration and a refined ride'. Its suspension features retuned springs and Kayaba Swing Valve dampers, a first for Nissan, with the brand claiming these help maintain body control while maximising ride comfort. It's said to have greater rear-wheel drive distribution and enhanced line-tracing while accelerating through corners, and characteristics of the system including front/rear drive distribution that differ with each drive mode. Nismo variants don't always offer extra power, and that appears to be the case with this fettled X-Trail with no mention made by Nissan of higher outputs from its e-Power with e-4orce powertrain. This features a 105kW/250Nm 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine mated with 150kW/330Nm front and 100kW/195Nm rear electric motors. The X-Trail Nismo rides on Michelin Pilot Sport EV 255/45R20 tyres wrapped around 20-inch Enkei aluminium wheels. Other visible changes include unique front and rear spoilers with prominent red accents, as well as dark chrome accents. Down back, there's also a unique rear diffuser with a low-mounted rear fog lamp intended to evoke race cars. Naturally, the X-Trail Nismo can be had in Nismo's signature Stealth Grey, paired with a Super Black roof. Other exterior colours include Cardinal Red, Prism White, Dark Metal Grey, and Diamond Black. Nissan claims there's more downforce, with lift reduced by 29 per cent compared to the base X-Trail. Inside, there's a black interior with various red highlights. That includes the stitching on the doors, dashboard, centre console and steering wheel, while there's also a red start button. The seats are upholstered in fabric and leatherette and also feature red stitching. Power-adjustable, heated front sports seats from Recaro are optional. The X-Trail Nismo is available only with a five-seat configuration. It joins Autech versions of the X-Trail – named for another Nissan tuning arm – as being yet another variant of the mid-size SUV exclusive to the Japanese market. Mid-size SUVs may be the most popular new vehicles in Australia, but at least among mainstream brands there have been very few attempts to offer overtly sporty models. Exceptions to this include the old Volkswagen Tiguan R (and its tamer 195TSI R Line successor), as well as the upcoming Toyota RAV4 GR Sport. Z Nismo sports car.
